  1. Will do, but I leave at the same time
  2. Just spoke to John, and pending weather it's on :) He said ring before you leave home just to confirm
  3. You would think it would be back on by now, it is February. I wish I had have listened harder on the final night last year!
  4. No answer here either. If its on I will go tonight Can anyone confirm if it was on last night?
  5. William at Denistone Veterinary Clinic is very caring.
  6. Lol, and that's the reason why Parnell had to get the web address www.glydefordogs.com.
  7. Just don't feel like you HAVE to feed dry food because of all the marketing from the multinational companies :) I find dry food great for tracking training!
  8. I show two ACD's and have been wearing dress moleskins, polished RM Williams boots, polished brass belt buckle, long sleeved shirt and an Akubra hat. I have had so many people stop me and say it looks great. I use the finest plaited leather lead with a brass snake chain. I don't strategically blend into the background but I think it looks harmonious with the cattle dogs. Only problem is I was wearing a pink shirt with my female and now I have a male as well so maybe wearing pink isn't an option anymore. I'm trying to decide if I keep that look but add a navy jacket for Sydney Royal, or go for a skirt suit. Next problem is I am handling both a blue cattle dog and a red one so what colour...... As for sunglasses I have worn them on glarey days, but just small metal Ray Bans. What about hair? Many women don't tie their long hair back and I think that's a distraction. Mine is half way down my back and looks great with soft curls, but to me it would be a hindrance, unless of course you never bent over!
  9. See what Martin McKenna said on The Project. That guarding and hunting dogs were never designed to be family pets for inexperienced owners. He described them as being quicker to bite and subject to idiopathic aggression that once started is like a rage. Much like Steve Austin calling to ban APBT's. The behaviourists are sending unclear messages to society, although they are each entitled to their opinion.
  10. Agree, I'm all for crating for a purpose such as car travel, toilet training, sleeping, but if the dog is crated because there are no other suitable containment system for the dog then that is wrong IMO. I've met dogs who are crated at night then crated again while the owner goes to work. That's an awful lot of containment. An intelligent animal kept in a space 1m x 1m for more than 16hrs a day? Not for me. Dogs are incredibe, sentient beings. They should be treated as such :)
  11. See in the news report for the NSW incident, I thought it was a balanced report, especially when they said multiple reports had been made to council in the past 6 months about the dog to council.
  12. I'm waiting to be approved as a member of OzShow. If anyone could give me the number of ACD's in Grp 5 on Friday, that would be great :)
  13. Perhaps a greyhound vet such as Ray Ferguson at Monash Vet
  14. I think ACD's ten years ago were around $400- $600. Nowadays it's $800- $1400. In breeds with genetic testing, that would have been a factor for price increases, amoung other things.
  15. 1. She said she would sell you a dog with Limited Registration...... Normal 2. Pup was turning out better than she expected.......offered you a discount for co- ownership...nothing too sinister. What would you 'carry on his line with' in regards to a female dog?
  16. What a great girl :) I'm so biased though! I think ACD's are one of the most perceptive breeds.
  17. Some photos from the weekend. My 5month old having a play My 12 month old girl I love this photo...waiting for their turn One awesome little herding dog.
  18. I mix half chicken ($2/kg) and half roo ($4.50/kg). Plus I buy the 5kg bag. Last time I worked it out it was costing me about $15 per dog a week.
  19. Would you travel to Uralla or Coolah? For a weekend clinic
  20. All I can think of is that she has high blood pressure linked to the anxiety... long shot though
  21. If only it was so, I've seen BIG dogs with the most unstable, insecure temperaments which are so not within breed standard. A perfect top line goes further in the ring than a temperament within breed standard. Half the dogs in my breed out there showing wouldn't know how to work stock, or be functioning workers on a farm. I'm so passionate about people going on about breed standard, when the actual functioning ability of the dog is never tested. Why on earth there ever had to be a split in some breeds on different lines amazes me, and I have to wonder who actually drove the split? The showring breeders, or the working dog breeders, and the motives behind it. For looks perhaps?
  22. It's never more than a 10 minute play in the waves, and then a very short walk home. It's been suggested to me that the milk might reduce the emetic effect of the salt water and allow it to pass right through her. It's probably much better if it is vomited out, instead of getting to the kidneys
