  1. Spots are barely coming through now they are one week old. Boy are they some porkers and mum is still doing a smashing job.
  2. On the topic of boobies again. Willow has 8. She has had 5 girls in this litter, 3 of them have 8 and 2 of them have 9. Sires mum has 10. Some interesting food for thought. Oh I made a bo bo on the colours as well. Now they are older I can see we have 8 livers (9 if you include the stillborn) and 5 blacks of which there are NO black bitches (of course that is what I wanted) to show as one is patched and one has a curl (kinked) tail. Don't you love breeding and all the suprises.
  3. Good weights there, how are they going with the rotating feeding or are you helping with that ?? She has so much milk that so far we have not needed to do anything. They are all good feeders and even the littlest two are gaining in leaps and bounds. For a girl with only 8 boobies she is awesome!!! Congratulations Leopuppy. We need pics now!!!
  4. At Birth the smallest two were 300g with the biggest being 380g most were over 350g. In a day they have gained avg 25grams. More photos beshish!!! Maybe later this week.
  5. You should not have favourite ones I know but even though this one can't stay with up or be shown gotta love our Teddy Boy.
  6. Wohoo they have all gained weight for the first day and all all doing well. Mum is a champion. We had to remove the rails in the whelping box as there are just too many and mum is treading lightly trying to avoid standing or sitting on them as she moves about her business. I am amazed 13 quiet and content fat babies.
  7. All done and to those of you who said 14 OMG you were right. Sadly we lost the last boy we tried for almost 30 mins but her would not be revived so we ended up with 13. The most exciting is I got my first liver patch and it is an eye patch so he will be so spunky. Sadly looks like my black girl wont be AGAIN as she had 3 black girls, one was patched, one has a curled kinked tail and the other is the only one with a spotty face. erghhhhh!!!! So final count....... 3 Black girls - one patched 2 Liver girls 4 Black boys 4 liver boys - one patched. Now for some sleep I am exhausted......
  8. Willow is such a slow whelper. Usually she goes 1 - 2 hrs per pup. So far 2 girls (1 black patch and 1 liver) and 1 liver boy. Last time she took 14 hrs for 12 puppy's. At least I can catch up on my book.
  9. After a very long night finally our fist pup a black patched bitch was born at 6am. Long way to go yet.....
  10. I guess the poor girl is grieving and would be very hormonal. Usually by the second week hormone levels should return to normal and so should she.
  11. At Craigieburn vet clinis mention you are a dogs vic member and you get massive discounts on everything.
  12. I am loving this puppy fix. They are all gorgeous, well done puppies. Looks like its our turn. Willow has refused all food and her very stable temp of 38.5 degrees has dropped to 37.4 this morning plus she is really sulky. fingers crossed we have 8 girls ONLY!!! oh and they all need to be black and white as well. I can wish can't I?
  13. Oh Jr_inoz I am truly sorry for your loss but am glad mum is ok. Sending you our prayers and hugs. Congratulations Armahani I hope there is a best in show in there for you.
  14. omg 16 I would not know what to do with myself. Lots of coffee I guess for a week and then a huge vacation once they go to their new homes to recover. Willows sides have gone a lumpy so I think by Friday she will go. Either that or some wishful thinking. This crappy Melbourne weather is not helping her either. Hot then bloody freezing now it is getting warm again and then cold later in the week again.
  15. leopuppy I would say 5 (sounds like a good number to me) and all girls. Does anyone have any advice for constipation for an almost due bitch? Poor Willow isnt eating much (drinking heaps) but she is just so full she is a bit blocked up and needs to strain quite a bit to go. Any ideas????
  16. WOW!!!! 17 is a scary thought. Last time she had 12 but one was stillborn and the poop and cleaning was insane. With larger litters the amount of washing goes through the roof and just ensuring they all drink well and gain weight. Guess I might be in for a week of no sleep again once they are here. Ok here is a pic with a few days to go.
  17. Congratulations to all the new puppies lets hope the rest of us can go uneventful. Willows temp is stable at 38 degrees both morning and night. She is hardly eating and every time she lays down she squirts a small pile of milk. So much weight and he boobies are HUGE . She has gained 11kg so my hope for only 8 has faded I think more like 12 in there. Can't wait to here from others whats going on as I am sitting here checking and reading wondering when will it be our turn lol. Impatient much???? Not me....
  18. must be a baby time or something.... Good luck all. More baby photos!!! Miss Willow is leaking milk and looks like she will go in a couple of days if not tomorrow. No temp drop yet so just need to be patient and hope she does one as last time she did not.
  19. Any news from Serenity star? She could be having puppys today. Lovin the baby pics and boy do I love that puppy breath. I still think Willow will go either Sunday or Monday as she is spread over the couch snoring her head off. She wont even let me go to the toilet on my own. Poor love she is HUGE!!!
  20. I worry because these dogs are part of my family and they cant tell me when something is wrong so if something does go wrong I wonder if I missed a sign or something. On a positive note I think Willow will whelp this w/end as she has slown right down to not eating, pants very easily and on and off often (getting ready me thinks) and she usually isn't a panter. And she is drinking masses of water. Poor girl does a little vomit every now and then. Temp is still normal with no dip who knows!!!!
  21. Congratulations!!! more cute puppy pics please
  22. Willows puppies started jumping around at around 7 weeks. Now getting close to eight weeks I can hear very faintly a couple of heartbeats with the stethescope going tic tic tic. Today all the eating ground to a complete holt. After 7 weeks of eating very well she has decided to be fussy and eat only a little. She was a little chucky last night (I am sure it was due to her size). We will start taking her temp twice a day today as it is officially day 54 and wait to see is she has them on day 60 like she did previously.
  23. they are so gorgeous and boy does mum look tired.
