  1. Wohoo! good luck to you all. What a nice month this is going to be with a range of breeds and no doubt more to come. We hit the five week mark and are still struggling with morning sickness and her lack of interest in breakfast. Hopefully soon this will get better.
  2. 15th august Dalmatian puppies due...WE ARE A TAD EXCITED!!!!!!
  3. Bugger , bugger, bugger I was hoping the temp would be a little cooler and Sunday has moved up to 35 Deg. Hope they have stocked up on ice cause I am gonna be an Eskimo.
  4. As long as I can sit in the baby pool I will be PEACHY!
  5. Has any got numbers or a breed breakdown for Naracoorte this w/end?
  6. I do not show or own docked dog but I am more appalled that this motion has been put forward by our supposed governing body WITHOUT consultation with its members. What is the point of paying a membership if the members are not to be consulted?
  7. The Dali (my lovely Girl Aust Ch Checkerboard A Titian Holly (AI)) Was from the Junior class and was the only Dally through the group. I don't know who won the puppy class.
  8. I was wondering with the Australia post truck roll over at violet town if any of that mail could have been for these shows????
  9. and must not exceed the fee payable at KCC Park. we pay nothing to park at KCC.
  10. We had a very large litter not so long ago and found that adding or giving them full fat natural yogurt in their food with some goats milk made them nice fat babies. The tinned food is very poor nutritionally and you would be better off with some fine minced meat and milk (goats if you can) mixed together with the yogurt. Even swelling up some good quality kibble would be better (adding some hot water to it so it goes soft) than the tinned stuff.
  11. Some maiden bitches prefer to be in a den type arrangement with a hands off approach to help them settle. Sounds like she is looking for a better place to put her pups. Perhaps the whelping box with a table and sheet over the top (making a cave type den) will help her settle. A dark and quiet room.
  12. Thanks all. Just going to hire a crate it seems easier and no real cost savings trying to organise myself and self ship a puppy.
  13. Hi, I need to send an empty dog crate to Newcastle from Melbourne. Any help on getting it there because even when dismantled it exceeds Australia posts Girth rules and they wont send it. A cheap option would be great. Thanks
  14. Well group 7 had a good day as BIS was Vino - Dalmatian and BPIS was also a Dalmatian.!!!!
  15. you could always try a wet cotton ball to clean her area and stimulate her to go yourself?? Would not hurt to try.
  16. WOW! I did not even think about that. too tired I think. I will try spacing the meals out more and cooking a little mince for a more appealing meal.
  17. Hi some welcome advice kindly sought.... My pups are almost 6 weeks of age and I am finding it hard getting them to eat to full tummies. They kind of graze, nibble or a couple even skip a meal. We have 13 puppies and this has NEVER happened in previous litters. We are using Advance Rehydrate puppy and Chicken carcass Mince (more mince than dry food). They just don't like it. We have also tried Goats milk and yoghurt added. Mum is not feeding them as she self weaned (could have strangled her) at 5 weeks as she had enough of 13 sets of teeth biting her. They are just not as roly poly as I would like and their poo's aren't as firm either. Yes they have been wormed before asking. We are feeding them 4 times a day. 7am, 11.30am, 3.30pm and 7.30pm.
  18. Eats like a horse when is usually a dainty lady like eater. I am talking a hoover here and breathes her food in seconds and then looks for more. This was from 2 weeks. When outside, Willow also would not let anyone in the 'family' dog kennel from 3 weeks. She would stand at the entrance and not let them in.
  19. Wow. They are all so cute. Makes it really hard to decide which ones to keep. Our 13 are still going strong, they are just over 3 weeks old now with the biggest a whopping 2.2kg and the smallest being 1.8kg. Some photos of the Mob!!!
  20. What a way to finish the months...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
  21. They do look big!! Congratulations to all who have loved and lost some magically babies this month. It never gets easier but it truly is worth it all.
  22. such cute labs. I love the stage when they are still wobbly and they bark and frighten themselves whilst playing with each other. We have a few with a little bit of eye visible and they are trying to get up on their feet. The thinner ones are much better at it whilst the sloths kinda lay there. Ahh the life of a puppy. We named them rose, daisy, possum, peppa, rusty, sky, fern, basil, milo, berry, camo, teddy and violet.
  23. What I was told by an old breeder and worked amazingly for me is the following. Give 1/2 aspirin (for 25kg dog) morning and night for the first 5 days (they are in pain I know I have had kids). Feed the puppies a small blob of Jalna Bush honey yoghurt twice a day. It fills them up and really helps their bowels and appetite. Also give two heaped tablespoons to mum twice a day. We also feed mums food wetted with goats milk (UHT is ok). Super high fat and turned her into a milk machine. It is also easy for them to digest so no runny poo etc. In a week our biggest girl has gone from 380g to almost 1 kg in a week and our smallest has gone from 300g to 810g. Bear in mind this is with a litter of 13 puppies. Needless to say I am somewhat impressed.
