Airedale Terrier? They can be very dominant though if not trained properly. Abbey can be left inside, and even though they were bred to hunt independently, she is still a very friendly social dog They were bred to hunt around water, but Abbey doesn't like it, so beware, you might get a 'broken' Airedale :D Good luck with your search
