It's official! As of (hopefully) Sunday she will be coming home! Now just have to name her...

Ah ok, we'll if I had 2 walls to stable and put something heavy in front of the open sides that might work? Just following the errorless housetraining as written in the 2 books here http://www.beagleclubqld.org/after-a-beagle/after-a-puppy/18-free-puppy-training-books read them cover to cover Just need something ASAP. Saw vebo ones but postage takes it over the top. Maybe I can find one in a store locally. Thanks ^___^

And to clarify, one of these is suitable for long term confinement? Enough room for crate, toilet, water bowl and toys? Or should I really get 2? For a beagle puppy for a few months while I'm not home.

Ok, well, after some great input and family discussion, this is our new pup!!! Just have to get her sent up to us.  [eep i'll uncut this until my payment goes through] Name pending... This is the 2nd pup, pet quality and more affectionate.

Go the pet girl. You can always get a show girl later down the track when you learn more about showing :) Part of me is going for the pet girl. Would the pet prove any different health wise seeing as she is smaller?? Can I share pics??
-
Ok now I have a real problem!!! I've got pick of 2 girls! Both are affectionate, one slightly more so than the other. Ones show quality and one is pet quality. I was interested in doing shows, but I have no idea about them, the time or money needed for it. I will share a pic when I get downstairs on the pc. Show quality - slightly less affectionate than the other. Pet quality - very affectionate and smaller than average.

May I ask if anyone has seen these in Bunnings still? Went in today but he said they hadn't had them for a while! Anyone in Brisbane selling theirs? Or know of any stores that still sell it??
-
Why is a 10 week old pup still available? Is it a registered breeder? Yes he is, he said he was going to keep her as a show dog but had to choose between an older dog and her as he was already at max capacity. He also mentioned that he generally proffered to keep until their second vaccination shot has been done as he likes to make sure they are growing well and healthy. He was listed on dogz online and does shows and also judges. I had a really long and awesome conversation with him and he didn't mind a heap of questions. I really hope that all this information is still positive, because I have a good feeling about him, with no worries niggling at me, except the age thing. I just want to do everything right :D

10 weeks isn't too old is it?? It might be 11 weeks by the time we get her. It's still quite a good age to get them right???

Silly question again, but if feed both my dog and puppy from a wobbler how to I make sure they don't eat eachother? At the start, pup will be confined in a playpen, but what about afterwards? And the same goes for kong. How do I leave them alone with kongs to make sure my new pup doesn't over do the food/treats? Just want to know before I buy any more lol. I was going to get a small and large kong and a small and medium wobbler. Maybe 2 bones too. -

Sorry if this is repeated, but the book I just finished reading said to chewtoy train my pup I need 6 stuff able chew toys. Now, apart from getting double ups, anything else recommended? And are any non-stuffable toys suitable for unsupervised play?? -

I didn't even tell mine... It will definitely just be a conversation for when the box arrives! I only got 4 things so I shouldn't get in too much trouble. Looking forward to seeing if my big boy likes the Wubbas! -
We've given that link several times, but she seems insistent on not using it. OK Thanks for letting me know. :) Thanks again, but to repeat I've contacted most of these and am on a wait list with two however, they said it was unlikely as they had a huge wait list already. We just see so many people come through here wanting a puppy, but get impatient and end up going BYB and it looks like that's where you're heading too, so forgive us if we keep steering you towards reputable breeder links. Have you tried this list: http://www.beagleclubqld.org/after-a-beagle/after-a-puppy/13-club-breeders As someone said, patience is a virtue. The "I need a puppy now" mentality can turn a lot of people off I spent over a year researching breeders before getting my first pug puppy, and I'm the queen of impatience. When I want something, I want it now (I'm an only child, that's my excus ), but more than that when I want something, I want it done properly. It's ok, I can understand. I've been wanting another dog for so long, and its only been the last month or so my husband has finally let in and said ok. So I guess it was like a child in a candy store. I have found a reputable breeder with a new litter that was referred onto me by another breeder. I've left her a phone message and hope we can sort things out (transport) etc. gives me a month to wait, but as long as I found the right breeder/litter/pup I think I can subside my compulsion to hunt. Maybe I was a dog in my previous life!!

I had that feeling niggling in the back of mind that it didn't feel right. I think I've harassed everyone on that list within suitable freight distance. ^__^ More waiting then. I'll send you a PM Steve. Thanks and sorry if I've been harassing you all.

First email: Special thanks and interest for the mail regarding our pups for sale. Ready to go, only to a good pet loving home ready to spoil them with all necessary needs. They are a litter of 3 girls and a boy so sociable with kids adults and other home pets. From a strong bloodline of Beagle pure breed their ancestry has been of the same breed over 4 generations all of them the Dam and Sire. They are 8 weeks old. vet checked. They microchipped, wormed regularly, vaccinated and registered ankc.Well trained (home crate and potty). They meets all family requirements to be indoor bully. we selected their father from another breeding family of the same bloodline. we own the mother and she is doing great also very healthy as the babies.we have done checks such as trauma, infection, immune system abnormalities, genetic factors, or degenerative conditions and negative results. we are not registered with the AMKC we are affiliated to the TBQA breeding association in QLD. we wanted to know from you if you have experience with dogs but you have shown us how u manged a dog and a cat in our home and this gives you a very good pet care experience to manage them and we and proud to that and knows you won't face any problem adding a beagle to them and perhaps our beagle are very sociable and will love to join your cat and your golden retriever they you will be proud of the family. And your 2 children irrespective of age makes me happy to the home our beagle will be going to with lots of company. THEY ARE TO LEAVE US WITH -ANKC REGISTRATION, -4 GENERATION PEDIGREE, -PET INSURANCE, -INFORMATION SHEETS, -SALES CONTRACT -TRAVELING CRATE -FOOD MANUAL(CATERING TIPS ARE INCLUDED) -PLAY TOYS Paper works will be change immediately to your names as family to take home any. Second email: I don't produce pups in large scales as other breeders does.As I told u their father was chosen from another breeding family of the same bloodline which means even as we sell all these babies, we will not be going to make that quick decision to conceive their mother. to register my pups is as a safe way to have them rather than fighting to register myself as a breeder but however, my documents I have dropped them at the TBQA breeding association and I have been waiting for an official approval. And when I'm approved then I will think of large scales production. At these baby's age health care is maximally advice so I put in all effort to see that they are vet checked even on daily basis until they find their new homes.we have never recorded any cherry eye in our beagle when our babies a are borne we make sure this is our very first responsibility to vet checked consultation and their mother on weekly basis.to this effect they have been doing pretty good I tell. this is a sample of our sales contract Puppy Sales Contract Between Wilson Family (Breeder) And the Purchaser I-The puppy is sold to the purchaser under the following strict conditions: II-It is also agreed by the purchaser that the puppy: It is understood that if the purchased fails to keep any part of this contract or if the puppy in anyway is neglected or maltreated, the purchaser will surrender the above dog back to the breeder with all paperwork. This will be without financial restitution or compensation. Signed (breeder)……………………………… Purchase Price........ Signed (purchaser)………………………………… Date:……………...

In the email she said TBQA and ANKC so I'm not sure what that now means. I've asked why she isn't registered but registers the pup, so we will see what she comes back with. Going back on what you've said previously why would they lie about something like that right?
-
Thank you everyone for your awesome replies and information. I have another small question along the same lines. I've found a breeder not registered with the ANKC but the pups ARE registered with the ANKC. The kennel in question is registered with the TBQA. Pups come with a nice long list of extras including pet insurance, ANKC registration, pup info and sales contract. She also explained she owns her female and imports bloodlines from show champions. So, thoughts? She is a bit too far for me to drive so I can't go and see. Pup will have to be freighted. I am fairly happy with the info I have received but the not ANKC register is what's stopping me as you have all said that is one of the key selling points. But the pups being registered had me confused. Thanks all and I am sorry if I am driving you batty with questions.

Oh yay!!! I am excited for you!!!! Please share some pics of the precious princess!

Looks like a really good read! Thank you! :)
