I am so sorry for you loss RIP Hero :D I have a Amstaff X and I would die if this happened to her, I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure she is safe and sound. Pursue this as far as you can, make sure they get punished for what they have done to you. Don't know if you are aware of but take a look at the Tango story (Gold Coast City Council vs Kylie Chivers). Also I am sure John from this story helps people with BSL claims etc so someone on DOL might be able to put you in contact with him.

yeah I think we will decide for sure closer to the day, I had been hearing about this so Ill try and keep an eye on it all, I live by Strathpine I can check it out prior if I have to, but does someone live closer that can check? Sorry I am on the Southside otherwise would be happy to. Haha thats what I am hoping + Phoenix is super food motivated so I will take some good treats for her as well. Maybe just bring it in case
-
I am definitely in for this one. Will also bring Phoenix on a long lead and see how we go. Re: Nudgee beach contamination maybe we say it will either be Nudgee or Kroll and then as we come closer to the date check on the net or if someone lives close have them check the beach and see what is like and then give a definite location? They aren't that far from each other so shouldn't matter either way.

I have also been told they are all good. I have posted this in FB threads to make people aware.

Huge Fight Today Between My 2 Bitches
Keira&Phoenix replied to indigirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
HI Indie, I don't think it is necessarily as bad as all that. My bitch Keira 3yo and my sisters bitch Gidget 6yo approx (both desexed) have been quarreling ever since we moved here and it got nasty a few months ago they had several scrapes and for a while it was hard to feel like we could trust them together again. I had to supervise a lot afterwards and keep an eye on things when they were together and I felt nervous but after a time, patience and some stern words everything is fine and although they are not friends and don't spend anytime together they don't get in each others way and they haven't had any dramas since, they can be left alone outside together and nothing happens. Every dog is different and it is a case of feeling it out with your dogs to see how they go. They do need to be supervised until you can trust them again and its worth getting a behaviorist in if you don't feel confident enough to do it yourself. Good luck and don't despair yet, I know its horrible to see that happen but hopefully things will calm down. -
Thanks Atua. You have a PM

http://www.petfriendlyrentals.com.au/downl...all-search-tool Your just install the extension and when you are looking at rentals on realestate.com it highlights pet friendly places!!! I tested it. Works you wait a few seconds after the page loads and it circles around each property that is pet friendly/pets negotiable, hopefully this will be helpful for you

Sasha the OP gave her dog food straight from the fridge not frozen so it didn't need to de-frost, I am sure a lot of people give their dogs food straight from the fridge I sure do. But I often freeze my dogs breakfast in stock or water as well as its great on hot summer days, cools them down

Early Desexing & Issues Therein
Keira&Phoenix replied to Bisart Dobes's topic in General Dog Discussion
WOW Kesh you went much farther back then me. Thats probably much more informative -
Hi All, I was wondering if some wonderfully knowledgeable people of the DOL forums could point me towards a couple reputable, registered AmStaff breeders in QLD (Pref close to Brisbane) or Northern NSW. I am looking at doing a couple visits to meet the breeders and their dogs to get a head way for when I decide to buy my first purebred puppy. It will probably be a couple of years before I go ahead with purchasing one but feel that gives me ample time to suss out a breeder who I feel suits me and dogs who suit what I will be looking for and build a solid relationship with them before going ahead and purchasing the puppy. I have had a look at a few websites for local breeders but would like recommendations for breeders DOLers have bought from in the past or may have some affiliation with. If this is in the wrong area of the forum please feel free to move it Troy. Thanks all.

Next Door Neighbours Cat In My Backyard
Keira&Phoenix replied to Adnil444's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi Adnil, If you look up your local council laws re: cats it general has a clause that says "You must ensure your cat does not interfere with the peace, comfort or convenience of any person in any other premises" which basically means if a person does not want your cat in their yard that you need to ensure it is not there, so legally you are NOT in the wrong they are if they continue to let their cat wander onto your property especially after you have spoken to them. So legally your fine. I am sure you want to maintain friendly relations with your neighbours though so maybe go over and have another nice chat, just stress that you are worried about their cat and would hate for anything to happen to it. Hopefully the cat will get the message soon enough after being constantly chased out by you or the dogs and will take it upon itself to avoid your backyard. I know how you feel though as I have a dog who is not cat friendly either -

I have now forwarded me email to Tracey onto the paper.

I am wondering if maybe it is a badly written piece that was meant to point out the reason RSPCA charge what they do but the reporter isn't very good and missed putting in important points? In saying that I have now written a polite but truthful email to Tracey.

After reading both posts owners seem to be a tad irresponsible. I don't think either of them are fully aware of the possible problems both of their dogs could face in the future if they are not very very careful. Irresponsible owners are part of the reason these dogs are in so much danger. I hope they both wise up and do the right thing with these dogs. FYI Millions of "pit type" dogs are euthanized every year just for the way they look so PLEASE be so careful with these two beauties otherwise you could lose them. I wouldn't be worrying about pedigree because it is very unlikely you can get a pedigree pit bull anywhere in Australia due to importation laws. Looks like a Dogue De Bordeaux X Bull type to me as someone said before. Also seems quite large for 22 weeks.
