Here is a link to the WA Dingo Assoc they may be able to help or put you in contact with someone who can help http://www.wadingo.com/HOME.html Edited to delete Parks and Wildlife because Monah is right they class them as pests which is ridiculous as they are our only wild dog and we live on their land, they should be protected.

Is A Blue Stafford Breeder Unethical?
Keira&Phoenix replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
Wow yeah thats the first time I have looked at the ads on DOL how worrying! Its been going on a while now I know that I have been hearing about "rare" blue Staffy's for a long time now. -
I would maybe complain to my vet about that, thats not on at all. Most vet clinics have policy saying all dogs must be leashed! That situation you just describe (having to pick your bully up on the street) is actually the very reason my trainers try to teach a perfect stay so that instead of picking you dog up you can put them in a sit stay leave them and deal with the other dogs and not have to worry about your dog getting up etc.

Wanted high five but that is all I could find haha.

Your absolutely right CW. Sadly us big dog owners have the same issues with irresponsible owners giving us a bad name I will say this, I took Phoenix to the dog park the other day (after busy period) and when I walked in there was this lovely lady and her daughter doing training work with their 6 month old Chi, I was very impressed and so glad to see someone with the right attitude towards training with a small dog, so I know your not all bad

OMGosh Erny thats crazy. Phoenix's were more like small red sores on her stomach and under body areas...maybe something different... In saying that my other girl Keira gets something similar to this, although not to this extent, I asked the vet they said mozzies but she has also had pancreatitis which I believe also has to do with toxins leaking into their body. But worth while having some of that tea around just in case because I do notice them every now and then (again not that bad). Do you just get the tea from the supermarket?? ETA - Funnily enough Keira has ridgeback in her... As above, my vet did mention mozzie bites....but couldn't say for sure.

Is A Blue Stafford Breeder Unethical?
Keira&Phoenix replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
This would suggest that the OP did intend to say something about the puppy if her fears were backed up here. Depends on how you want to read it I guess. Maybe she meant before she said something stupid to her Mother who was telling her about the pup....oh well in the end I think the OP got her answer and I am sure she will do what she thinks is right. -
People's attitudes are always shocking. So far I haven't had bad experiences really. But gosh if that was me I would have given "stupid old womens" dog a kick if it had come close enough because a) she needs to learn a lesson and b) if I was walking Keira I couldn't guarantee her reaction would be favourable for the SWF, she is not real keen on them ever since we had several living in houses around ours and they would charge at fences barking at her and bark/yap all day and night.

See above post. This was the first post in the whole thread that actually mentioned her saying anything to him. Even though at no stage did the OP even suggest she was going to say anything. She was just curious about the colour. -
Phoenix had what I would describe as hives, all over her chest and underneath on her belly and underarms etc. Took her to the vet she got antihistamines and antibiotics (for infection) and it cleared up very quickly. I have been keeping her well away from the gardens as well though as I am sure it was probably caused by a plant but unsure which one and we have lots as we are on a quarter acre. Take your pup to the vet, its very uncomfortable/itchy for them. Hope it gets sorted out quickly

I was wondering something similar with my girl see signature below. She has a red nose, should I be putting sunscreen on it when out in the sun??

Hey Dandy, I think your from the Southside/Logan area right?? We can meet up and convoy there if you want? Let me know and we can organise somewhere to meet Anyone else from Southside area are obviously more than welcome to meet with me/us also. ETA - So I will be in Carindale at Puppy Play until 1:30 pm so we can meet around Old Cleveland Rd, which is easy to get to and we will be able to get straight back onto the Gateway from there and head to the Northside. Looking at Whereis it should take approximately 30 minutes from there. So we can meet around 2ish at the shops where Subway/Hells Pizza etc are on Old Cleveland Rd, Carindale. Let me know if anyone is keen to do this so I know if I should wait there.

How scary for you!!! Glad she seems ok and I hope she starts eating soon! I am sure she will, she probably feels a bit off colour though and sad not to be home with her Mummy. Gosh this is worst nightmare especially if it happens when I am not home. Luckily we don't get lots of venomous snakes around our area although we are not far from the bush. We do get pythons though ETA - Glad your baby is fine too Sandra, brown snakes are scary scary!

Thats awesome Dogperson!!!! I am sooo jealous. Im also a Brissie girl and this would be a dream job!! Naw how exciting for you. Good work. What area are they opening up in?
-
It does take a while for dogs to cool down especially once they have gotten themselves all worked up and been running around at the same time. Not sure what type of dog Banjo is?? But judging by your pic a relatively large, hairy dog so it will take a while for his internal temp to come down. Try giving him some ice or something because its bloody humid and it would be his insides that are still hot not his outside. Maybe try giving him a wet towel to lay on or lay over the top of him too.

Maybe she is greyhound x a much taller dog and that has conttibuted to her height. She may also fill out a bit as she gets older. She is adorable though and i love her name

Ridgeback / Dobermann Lovers - I Need Your Help!
Keira&Phoenix replied to Mav_1's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with what has been said so far. My girl is on Ridgeback X but all of the traits people have pointed out here are definitely a big part of her personality. Ie: When out walking is always alert to smells, sounds etc, chases small animals, stubborn (ie: if we are out walking and I ask her to do something she doesn't want to do she pretends she can't hear me  ) she also knows when I am getting ready to leave the house and will sit by the garage door LOL but I love her to death she is sweet and loving. She is active but can also be a couch potato. I think that so long as you are dedicated to being a responsible owner and make sure you attend puppy classes (at an Obedience school not with a vet) and make sure you follow through with training you will be fine. -
I found with Keira when swimming in a new pool it takes a few times but she eventuly learns where the steps are. Just keep giving her a nudge in the right direction. If your more comfy you can gets ramps of danoz direct

Hey all, Just needed to know what time we are thinking about meeting this Sunday? Are we going to make it for like 3/4 ish again?

To follow up on the thread in the general forum a few of us Brisbane DOLers are going to Woofstock ( http://woofstock.com.au/index.php?option=c...2&Itemid=23 ) in February and for those of us interested we were going to meet and go together. So just wanted to let everyone know and if we can just start to make suggestions of what time and where to meet. Obviously most people will have to drive in as unlike Melbourne no dogs on public transport here. I dont know what parking is like around that area, does anyone know what parking there is? I would be happy to meet up with any Southside DOLers and carpool or convey in.

That sounds good. I get nervous at the thought of taking Kyojin out by myself Cool! Well I will start a thread in the social section I think. We can organise there where and when to meet etc.
