Sounds like councils prefer two dogs but by State Law they cannot restrict your number of dogs unless complaints are made or if you are found not to be caring for them properly. Sounds like you will be fine. 9 dogs must be a handful! Although probably not as they are all senior! Good luck with the move.

What Would Be The "right" Thing To Do?
Keira&Phoenix replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Does that include expecting a completely uneventful trip to the park? Not if that's what you're expecting. I seriously think everyone is a little off the handle today... lol is it a full moon? all the crazies are coming out. I am going to take a bex and have a good lay down LMAO. I am pretty sure it was a full moon last night or the night before. But usually the effects start a few days before and last a few days after hehe. ETA - Just checked Tuesday was Full Moon! -
No stories but by doG did that story make me giggle. What a funny doggie you have!! I want more, quick people share your funny stories!!

What Would Be The "right" Thing To Do?
Keira&Phoenix replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, I am agreeing on this point here and it doesnt matter whos at fault when you carry dog home in a box to plant him under the tree. No dog is garantee to being effective on control without a leash and my opinion is you go to the dog park at owners risk. When you doing the right thing walking to dog on leash and an off leash dog attack is different and having a law to use for the blaming, but off leash dog park for the prosecuting success pfffff best wishes I am saying. Joe Actually Joe K you will find that all dog parks have signs that tell you that to use the park your dog must not be dangerous and must be under effective voice control at all times. This makes anyone who goes into a park liable if their dog causes harm to another dog. If my dog was attacked and injured in a dog park I can absolutely guarantee you those people would be paying for my dogs vet fees and recovery. They would also be reported to council and their dog declared dangerous, I would make sure it happened to protect other people and their dogs. I have to agree with Corvus. In the 4 years I have been going to dog parks etc on a regular occasion I am yet to see a dog fight that has been more than noise. No serious injuries, no injuries at all actually. I think the other thing about being a responsible owner is being able to read body language your own dogs and other dogs and know when to move away from a potentially dangerous dog, I can and I do, I avoided several unstable dogs at the park on Saturday afternoon and Phi and I had a great time (until I lost my keys that is haha, but that's another story). -
Ok so we are set for Sunday June 5th 12:30 pm @ Nudgee Beach?? I had a look at Elanora Park at Wynnum. It was nice and very large, almost as big as Kroll. Has small agility equipment. In saying all of this on the day I went (Saturday) there were several issues with dogs, nothing major ie: no injuries to any doggies but there were at least 4 dogs there who definitely shouldn't have been due to being unsocial or slightly aggressive. In saying that by the time it got busy all the dogs were well behaved (the owners and children were not tho!!) Maybe I chose a bad day but didn't make a great impression. The only upside was there was loads of room to move away from any dogs I didn't like. Hmmm might keep looking for a Southside park.

Smh Article: Desperately Seeking A Little Dog Lost
Keira&Phoenix replied to Panto's topic in In The News
What a beautiful story. And a reason to never ever leave your dog tied up outside a shop when you go in. But I am so glad she was able to find her. I think I would be the same if it was one of my girls. Thanks for sharing -
Toy Ideas For An Injured Puppy
Keira&Phoenix replied to **Super_Dogs**'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Just had to say this is a lot of good ideas!! Awesome. -
I loved both my girls the minute I set eyes on them. In saying that I feel a stronger bond with the younger dog and I feel like my bond to the older dog isn't as strong as it used to be, I feel terrible saying that like I am betraying her but I still love her to bits. With your new pup not checking it, I don't think it is unusual at that age. Even though Phoenix bonded quite strongly to me she went through a stage where she would just wander off around the house to talk to everyone else and sniff around, it made me sad but it was just a stage and has mostly stopped now.

Purple Pit Bulls And Locking Jaws
Keira&Phoenix replied to RottnBullies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Just saw it on facebook an came to post it. LMAO too funny!!! -
Yeah I have been told the same. I think it depends on the dog like with people, if their skin is sensitive, if it is oily or dry etc, what sort of shampoo you are using that sort of thing.

People Who Cannot Control Their Dogs.
Keira&Phoenix replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yeah I agree. Report it. I feel bad for the dog if it is declared dangerous because that whole sitaution was avoidable if the owner had just put a leash on the darn dog, hopefully she will get a warning and might pull her head in and it won't happen again. If it does happen again there is a previous report for the council to refer back to. Unbelievable. -
Breed Spotting At The Million Paws Walk
Keira&Phoenix replied to cannibalgoldfish's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ooo ooo, I saw an Amstaff cross Amirite? lmao Doesn't sound as good as seeing a Swedish Vallhund haha much less rare! -
Oh no poor little Tip. So sad that he was looking so healthy and crashed so fast. It is so hard, it only takes that first 5 minutes to create an emotional investment in an animal I can only imagine how devastated you are at the moment. So sorry Teebs how very sad. I hope the people who dumped the poor thing get what is coming to them. RIP King Tip The doggies on the otherside of the bridge will take care of you now. Xx

Fantastic. So good they were able to take their dogs and that all the dogs were so well behaved Whilst on a positive note I must add I was at the main Brisbane MPW yesterday and it went really really well. No major dramas. Whoop for a good day in the doggy world!

Dju, I will have to street park but that is ok. I will try to be there by 9 am. I will drop the shirts off to GG in the morning and she will do the stencils etc and keep the shirts there with her, so she will have them when you arrive -
My dog trainers had their 15 months old cav pass away last year from this

I can't just stop going to the gym, as I said, waiting for surgery and its vital I keep the fitness. It's not a case of I could just go walking, I have to do the strength training for my health. Unfortunately, I cannot defer a Diploma either. It's a 12mth online cut off. I am more than willing to rent a budget priced property, I'd sleep in a shed if I had to,, but the most budget priced house (to allow dogs) you would find in brissy is around $250pw and there are very few and far between let alone whether they allow dogs. I don't earn enough to be able to afford that. I would love to get someone in to share with me, but again, as I said, I'm not sure ex will leave. I would rather stay miserable myself than have Jessie put to sleep. I will contact you privately on the weekend. But I wanted to say that there are always ways of managing no matter what. I am renting in Caboolture with two dogs and I'm on my own. My rent is affordable at $265 pw so you can find houses for that rent if you're willing to commute. My work hours are changeable from one week to the next (I work shifts between 7am and 7pm and some weekends). My greyhound is 11 yrs old, my other dog is 7. I also had a third dog who has now gone back to my STBE husband because I couldn't rent with all three. They cope fine with my long and changeable work hours and their needs are paramount to me. I don't earn brilliant money either. But it's enough. I manage cooking by: slow cooker (great as you can freeze meals); stir fries (quick and easy plus healthy); salads and soups (fresh salad is great even when it's cold and who can go past home-cooked veg soup?). I joined a gym last week and the membership is $56 per month, which works out to about $12 pw. If you need to do strength training, why not go to Big W/Kmart/Target and buy weights, plus whatever else you need from somewhere like Amart All sports? The prices are reasonable. Good advice
-
I agree totally with Leelaa. Dogs will be dogs. You told your OH multiple times not to open the window that way and he still did and they broke. Seems reasonable to me. Not to pry but What sort of area you in? Near Brissie?? What sort of work do you do? I work in recruitment so may be able to help if we have something in your field Feel free to PM me if you wish.
