  1. It is an anti-inflamatory...........If you have concerns you would be best to speak to your vet. Your dog is a great age and there are quite a few things you can have him on to make him more comfortable in his very senior years. Have you ever tried him on Sashas Blend?
  2. Dont be nervous, you will have a great time. Just remember to play/talk to your dog in a happy voice between exercises. I think this helps to keep your nerves settled and helps your dog so they dont think you are acting totally weird. Also when the judge says "are you ready" look at your dog and see that she /he is focused on you, if she/he isnt say no, dont be scared thats why they ask. Have a great time good luck
  3. When you work your dog in a trial you are the only one and all sits must happen automatically, you stop dog sits. Lots of people have different commands. For fetch i say take. It does not matter as long as you follow the rule book. The dog does not have a clue they just learn the cue word for the behavior. For all cues you use a hand signal aswell (except sit) so that helps the dog a lot. Myszka..........for the directed retrieve you send your dog out to the box so hopefully the dog is looking at you at you and you use a hand/arm signal to tell him/her which jump left or right then they come back to you and front. Soniq......... in agility you know the set course before you start the course with your dog. Before the event starts every one walks the course and the obstacles are numbered. Shadowboxer........i just had this conversation with Susan Garrett, you could in theory say "hippopotumus" but you cant say "fetchit" because the rule book says one word..........pretty dumb, be funny to test it out but i'm not going to. I love dog trialing
  4. I found the rule book and it says one word, nothing about how many syllables. If you did teach your dog Polish commands i dont think many judges if any would object. You will have to try Myszka, get that dog to UD.
  5. I cant find my dam rule book, the one syllable rule makes sense but i think it just says one word............must find rule book. You can say "over" for the directed jumping.
  6. Hi Monika, You couldn't say "kiis butt" because its two words...................lol
  7. I second that. One word must be in english, I also trial and say drop but you could say vegemite if you wanted to good luck
  8. Yep, and i ordered her newest book but have to wait until she gets home to add stuff to it and then post it but she said it would be bwfore April. I cant wait.
  9. I was there Sidoney for the Retrieve, it was pretty detailed. My dog mouths the dumbell so i am going to retrain it. She suggested a goal could be carrying a raw egg in the dogs mouth...............Might take me a while. I tested out today if my dogs really knew the release word and they didn't. I would of never expected that. I am so glad i went. Lisa
  10. Well we are back, My brain is still trying to get around what she spoke about. Susan is sooo funny i haven't laughed so much in ages. I thought she was excellent, and the humerous way in which she explained things just seemed to make so much sense. I tried to kidnap her and hold her hostage at my place but it never happened...lol Susan did say that she wanted to come back to Canberra and do a week long obedience camp but she didnt say when. She also said that one of her instructors "Lynda" is coming out next year so i will have to keep an eye out for that.
  11. Driving down tomorrow for the weekend seminar, I cant wait. I'll post about it on Monday.
  12. They are so fast in the retrieve, my dog is retrieving over jumps but not like that.............maybe one day
  13. Thankyou, i just watched the first one, i'll post again after i have them all. The dog is sooo lovely, i wonder if they want to swap for my castrated male dobe. Lisa
  14. Yep i logged on as Monika and Rex it even welcomed us........well i think it did i could only make out the Monika and Rex. I dont think i will ever eat pies again. Everything went as you said but when i clicked on the underlined TUTAJ just another page opens, it just looks like a sponsers page (its hard to tell) but no video player. I can pm you with my email because i would loveeeeeee to see it.
  15. Lia, I am glad i am not the only one. I clicked on an add that said something about pies, i wondered why a bakery was sponsering a dog site but it was an add for dog food. It looks very different in another language...........lol Myszka, we need your help
  16. Thanks Monika, Well i can find it and i found the TUTAJ but just another page opens when i click on it ....no video I am not blonde but maybe i am
  17. Dear Mszka, I would love to look at those sites but they are not in English. I wasnt sure what i was clicking
  18. Dear Razzamataz I notices you wrote that your dog started to break out again when you moved. Any stress to the dog can cause a break out again. It could be if he is worrying about girls, post operative stress , moving, fretting just anything that upsets his immunity can cause dogs to have a relapse so to speak. I have known dogs that this has happened to. I would get him desexed for sure but not until his skin is good again. I think you can keep them on Proban for dermadex, this might be better than all the washes perhaps discuss this with your vet. Good luck
  19. I know every dog is different and so are allergies but my dog was on EukanubaF/P at his skins worst. I mostly feed organic chicken now, some lamb and fresh fish but lucky for me i can get it. In desperation and fear that he wasn't going to have any hair left i gave him (or the vet did) a cortisone shot to help settle things down and switched to Barf. It has been 12months and a lot of humid weather and he hasnt looked back. By the time you master this dogs skin you will be the skin guru.
  20. Or you could get the yucca and make Tecquila, drink lots and you wont see or hear him scratching.
  21. Dear Holly, I switched my dog to BARF because of bad skin one year ago, it took about three months to clear his skin. I think you already feed Barf,(?) but i also fed him "missing link" for about the first four/five months. I was ripping my hair out worrying when his skin was bad, its the worst thing.
  22. I have one growing in my front garden and i hate it, your welcome to come dig it out...........its a big sucker............lol
