  1. I will add to the previous post, already labeling your puppy a stubborn breed will handicap your training.Find a good motivational training group to help you train your puppy.
  2. In my mind, that is the value of a timer table....everyone gets timed the same....should be a good thing as long as it doesn't freak dogs and handlers.I have no doubt it was introduced for fairness but I can understand people's concerns.
  3. That is a bit beyond this little black duck. Good point about the assistance dogs & reversing truck sounds. What's the bet my BC girl will firstly cock her head from one side to the other, ears pricked, then jump off & have a look underneath the table for the "birdie" Pax...the beep has to be heard by the handler, so we know when to release the dog & for people who are "slightly" hearing impaired like me, can hear it. Sheena, it is of course a benefit for the handler to hear it and go, was just thinking of ways handlers could stop stressing but judges still have a burdon taking off them.
  4. I dont compete in agility but so many people seem to be worried about the noise of the table bothering the dog. Is it possible that the beeping (by some remote system) is only heard by the judge? I think it sounds awesome to have a timer that is fair and exact for each dog when I know milli seconds mean a lot in agility, it should make for better, fairer course times and less stressed judges:) Hope it gets sorted and calms down before the Nationals as I know the Committee is working so hard to make this a fantastic event, the grounds are awesome. I think the dog community is very lucky to get to use such a great venue.
  5. Hi,If it was bought as an ANKC registered Dog you should have received the papers, signed on the back by the registered owner. The previous owner should have filled out a microchip transfer of ownership form and you should have been given the pink copy. You should also have a vaccination record, if she misplaced it, she could easily get a duplicate copy from her vet. These three things would be the minimum you should have.
  6. Pretty sure this video was posted and discussed ages ago, think its edited to make a POV. You might get your answers posting in the GSD topic in sub forums
  7. Which days will you be there PAX? Everyday
  8. I'm stewarding two mornings of the Nationals If anyone has some free time and wants to watch some awesome dogs I'm sure the commitee would love your help.
  9. Thanks Ness, he makes me look good:) Cant wait to get him home, miss him sooooooooooooooo much.
  10. At a guess probably two metre squared. The Champ round had only two front markers and a box (white tape) on the ground behind.
  11. The UK rules/exercises are different. The world cup is a big party, all the teams give cards and presents to one another, its a fab experience, even got Belg chocs from theBelgiam team:)
  12. Only one judge. Makes you wonder if two...would be more worthwhile, especially at this level. I want PAX's autograph!! I am so thrilled for you. I am sure everyone is. Lol...xxx, a glass of wine with you would a thrill.
  13. Petras dog scorzed a 2.5 for its sendaway (if i remember) another dog did the same and scored a 14.00, no discredit to petra, they deserved the win but the judge was hard to predict what he liked.
  14. The sendaway seemed to cause the most trouble, was more difficult than the champ round.I think my dog would of nailed it, easy to say when you cant show it though.
  15. Ask away Lablover. When did the team fly over? We left on the 2nd Where did you stay? we stayed at the Hilton NEC Birmingham, right nest to the NEC Did you have any time to be a tourist? No, not with the dogs. It was the first time an Australian team had entered Crufts?Yse correct, first time, first team. How was the team selected? Was posted on the OzObedience list, need to know that style, prepared to train, send dvds if you thought you were up for it. I was asked to go. I love UK heelwork and have been to crufts before. Did you know the standard of the other dogs/teams/countries?Yes, have admired that style for years, even Petra and Tyler her Lab....lol What did you think of Petra's US field labrador? (cannot help myself sorry, being a US field lab lover) I love Petras Lab, not competing with a BC or WS, was awesome to see a diffferent breed, Petra and Tyler are very good competiters, we knew that years ago as we are all Crufts followers/stalkers.
  16. I noticed in your clip you had your hand on your left side - is that your usual hand position in Aus. or did you change in the lead-up to going The hand position is how i always train. Our Aussie rules should cope with it, but i have been pinged heavily for it.Honestly, i dont care, i train my dogs for what i want, if i'm happy and the dogs are happy, thats all that matters to me ATM. All of the Aussie team 2 Crufts dogs have been out of the ring for a year to prepare for Crufts, i also broke my leg and had 12weeks on the lounge. UK heeling requires your hand on your left side.
  17. great clip I noticed in your clip you had your hand on your left side - is that your usual hand position in Aus. or did you change in the lead-up to going to the UK? Fingers crossed the flight home was easier for the dogs, it was a little shorter and they are back in Oz even if not at home yet. With this in mind would you do this again? Yes! But i need to answer again when he gets out of quarantine. ATM he is playing tug and being spoilt, he just takes everything in his stride:)
  18. He did show slight signs of being unwell, he didn't handle the travel and was a little dehydrated and not running on all cylinders. After a few days and a vet visit he seemed to have picked back up, sadly on the Sunday and another vet visit he flattened off again. The second Vet said he had travel sickness and that it was quite common in dogs after a long haul flight, he advised strict rest to prepare him for the flight the next day, so that is why he was withdrawn........hindsight is a wonderful thing. His symptoms are just lethargy, he's knackered, after the trip home I can totally understand. Fingers crossed the flight home was easier for the dogs, it was a little shorter and they are back in Oz even if not at home yet.
