RubyStar, you must of been good to get a pass, don't sell yourself short. We all get better as we go along with the help of great training friends. The three extra means, the first passes are the hardest. so here is another.

I say a Poodle too. -
I'm not sure of the class times but I know there are classes from about 6pm onwards and there is definitely classes at seven. You should go down and have a look. Also Blacktown train Tuesday nights and have Triallers only training on Wednesday nights with ring run outs.

There is nothing wrong with the Supermarket generic brand worm tablets, as long as the correct does is given at the correct times and you buy the appropriate type, eg; ALLWORMER, this does not include heart worm.
-
There is also Hobartville on Monday nights at Richmond. One of the Instructors was Winner of Winners at the Royal on Wednesday.

You can pull out the minute before you run, so if you enter and there is thunder and your dog is bothered about thunder, scratch. They will understand and wont really care, they will be grateful you have told them your not running. Lots of dogs get upset by the thunder and don't run their best.

Have her anal glands checked too.

She has great attitude. Looks great for her age. I would be making my turns slower to help her keep position. I also do a lot of perch work with to teach rear end awareness marking any movement of the back end. The only other thing, she is gravitating towards the front of you (looking for the reinforcement), I would deliver the reward in perfect heel position or mark the perfect position then start the tug game. -
I'm not sure if he can help with with weave poles but he can with tunnels. My OH made my steel weave pole bases and I bought PVC pipe for uprights, the measurements are in the ANKC rule book. Just need to find someone that can weld.

You could try contacting Keith Edwards. He can get and supply tunnels and would probably know where to source what you're after. http://www.caninefunsports.com.au/index.htm

Who Wants To Order From Clean Run?
PAX replied to laffi's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My dogs aren't crazy for the I squeaks (sorry...lol) they like them like they like anything Mum plays with but nothing comes near a frisbee. I really like the size of the I sqeak small ball, great for hiding in my pocket. Maybe I should invent a miniature frisbee. -
I'm on day three with one of my dogs and I love it. At first I was using a tug but was getting her too high so lights on no one home, I have dropped back to food and she seems to really understand going through the two poles. Today we started working the entries. Training would be hard if you cannot follow the DASH principle.

Malinois's are extreme high drive dogs, a Kelpie on Red cordial. IMO It takes a very talented trainer to channel that enthusiasm for good and not evil.

I can't get the link to work but would love to watch it. Why would the UK style heeling dogs get sore necks??? I try very hard to get that level of attention and up heelwork. These dogs are taught to heel like that from a very yong age, a step at a time and they heel them on both sides so the muscles are even. I wish my dogs could heel like that.

Haha, it's 'say yes' dog training, or I say yes more often.
-
I'm a yes.

IMO Dobes are are high maintence until at least three years old, maybe four with an entire dog. I honestly can't imagine owning a young Dobe in a multiple dog household, they demand attention and are very naughty if they don't get it. I know that doesn't help your problem, sorry. Is there any way you can make him more part of the house hold without upsetting the other dogs? One of my Dobes is a blanket sucker, she has always done it, and from my research it does seem to be a Dobie trait. She will greet me at the gate with her blankie, too cute. She is seven now and has never let up on the blankie sucking, pillows are her favourite but settles with a blanket. She even has 'get your blankie' on cue, i thought it was better than her becoming a flank sucker as so many Dobes do. Dobes really need training that keeps them thinking, short bursts of obedience do wonders IMO for their busy brains. My Dobes have loved seek back exercises and retreiving games that burn off the zoomies. Training tricks is also great to wear them out, my Dobes have a great array of tricks, fetching a tissue when I sneeze was one of their favourites as was turning off the light switches and hopping on a skateboard. Getting slippers or car keys or any thing you can think of keeps them happy. There are dozens of ideas for training on You tube and I'm sure Monelite will give you some ideas if you can meet up with her. Try and hang in there, you are in the worst Dobie time ......teenagers...grrr.
