  1. Dyson...do you know Dyson also have a dog grooming attachment, one of my boarding clients told me about it and use it on their Sibe.
  2. I do the same, love the cot sized mink blankets from Homeart, they wash like rags and dry in a flash. Also don't frey if the dog is a blankie sucker or chewer.
  3. WA has some/most of the best trainers in OZ IMO. Maybe you should have some private lessons Skye GSD?
  4. Also would make awesome agilty dogs to an experienced home. They just need a job and consistant boundaries. Hope you can can find great homes for them.
  5. I really like these beds, they are strong, don't sag in the middle and are hard to destroy. They are worth the money and great for large, long legged dogs. http://www.trampolinedogbeds.com.au/circular.htm
  6. Pretty crap that no one wants to share? I wanted to attend but all the handler spots were taken, Im sure it was awesome, hope someone tells.

  9. I recently boarded Monelites dogs, I threw the ball in the ball chuckit like I and Mon have done a million times, I was watching the dog retrieve the ball and she injured herself. I did nothing wrong and the dog did not appear to run, turn unusually, but she still got injured, Thankgod Mon is my freind, thankgodness she understands...do I leave dogs looked up, miserable, but safe?? Sometimes bad stuff happens, you need to have a relationship with your dog boarder, ask around, look at how happy the dogs appear in their care. Most of the dogs I mind drag the owners up my drivewahy to the kennels
  10. I agree with you Nekhbet but I also agree with Leema. I instruct at a local dog club and most of the training methods make me cringe, so old school. I use motivational methods to train my own dogs, but this is something I build in my pups from day one. It's a different thing when an adult dog comes to training that has already developed so much self reinforcement, and very little (if any) high level rewards from the handler, you don't have much left to train with other than compulsion. You can always go the ruff love method (Susan Garrett) but most owners aren't prepared to do that. I think dog training needs to go in a direction that doesn't make the owner feel bad or uncomfortable, I also strongly believe in the value of training tricks....makes the owner feel the dog is super smart and puts no pressure on the dog as it's just a trick:)).
  11. I boarded a three legged whippet last year that the owners chose home care for the year before. I innocently asked what had happened to her hind leg. They answered that she had home care the Xmas before, while they were away, they suspect she was frightened by fireworks and jumped the side fence, something she had never done before. The fence was a bamboo fence and she caught her hind leg in the wire that holds it together. By some odd luck the owners came home early from the vacation and noticed her food bowl was still full, went searching for her and there she was, almost dead, hanging by a hind leg, thank-god she survived. Dogs need more than a couple of visits a day, you never know what can happen, at least at a kennel they are safe.
  12. He is only small, 29 kilos but I think he is perfect.
