  7. Can anyone tell me total number of entries in Goldies (including scratchings and babies please?) we had a great day after a hard end to last week. Dog CC (his 3rd in a row) with our 8 1/2 year old GSP boy (9pts) and RUBOB. BOB Golden with my friends 15mth old boy (16pts) and Junior in Group/13, BCC Goldie with his litter sister and Baby of Breed Irish/4 with another friends dog. Missed the entries for Pakenham, but considering its less than 2 ks away I will still go all suited up, so if anyone needs a hand....... lol so proud of our old boy GSP, spent the first 6 1/2 years of his life as a companion hunting dog, won his first points (after 6mths of shows) in December 2009, titled in dec 2010 and now has over 170 points

  11. my dogs get maccas to- on the scale of their acheivements nothing bigger than a quarter pounder tho lol
  12. I think the inter in show I saw at pet and animal expo and I was gobsmacked- a truly stunning example of a Stumpy Tail. I spoke to the owner and she said she had brought him from QLD and was only going to do agility, but a few people have said some nice things about him so she thought she would give showing him a go- I wish her the best of luck and I would love to see him in the winners ring more often! Congrats to all those that had a brilliant weekend at Canberra- and gooooooooooooooooooo the Gundogs (as they say- gundogs are fun dogs!)
  13. beg borrow and steal grooming and show stuff from friends, pack 2 suits, a change of undies and a pair of trackies - plus toiletries ;p
  14. Way to go- that first champion is always the most special Hope Nessa got a nice treat when she got home

  16. i thought I had both my dogs in both shows as the girls breeder was entering them- seems she is only in the champ show- ah well the semi retired CH boof is my only dog of my own entered- he'll die in shock me thinks- he's not used to being shown and miss uppity watching from the sidelines
  17. my junior bitch (after slipping a collar on the way to the show and deciding rabbits were more fun than going!) decided BOB at the pm show was the right time to stand on her tippy toes, virtually pointing at sea gulls at the other end of the ground, lucky I had a tight grip on her or she would have had her second great run of the day!
  18. i got my number back for my Champ- not even looking to see there was no champ class- so when it said he was in class 11 I was like what the! I rang mum who did the numbers etc and he and my friends champ dog and champ bitch (who he had written on the front of the envelope in class 10A at both and there is no class 10 at OPs) were all in class 11- Ididnt think Champs were eligible in normal classes- but apparently they have special permission from the VCA.
  19. Ch show 1 1-111 2 112-166 3 167-250 4 251-337 5 338-438 6 439-533 7 534-623 OS 1 1-39 2 40-65 3 66-92 4 93-119 5 120-153 6 154-201 7 202-228 Champs in ordinary classes
  20. Our show team will be affected as that weekend is the opening of duck season, and one of the owners said they arent missing another year like last year (the first the missed in a long long time) lol- but a few of us will hopefully be there to keep the flag flying
  21. hmmm yeahhhhhh- but we arent actually a pointer breed- we are utilitys, but we hve pointer slapped on the end- so that sounds like a good plan found out we have a pointer sitting with us now too lol- between Eng Pointers and GSPs, I think peer pressure will be high lol ETA I mean peer pressure on the judge roflmao
  22. I live probably 3k from the show- tempted to walk it roflmao
  23. Id love to have a hound- only 13 in their group! almost a guarantee of a nice big ribbon
  24. cant believe the entry numbers, 37 in gundogs- only 1 between my friends champ bitch springer and my head doofus (GSP). but 8 between my champ dog GSP and junior bitch- big GSP entry Im guessing- probably over half the group. Im glad- because being the daughter of a judge who has gone through the "trying to get the numbers up" game- I feel its very important for aspiring judges to get their hands on as many individuals of a breed- in a show setting- and sort out what style they like. Gives the exhibitors who are new at it a good go, no pressure for points and again- in a show setting- they can learn the ropes. Expo's and ag shows are important in this day and age- to let people know that a malt x shihtzu or a cockerpoo are indeed not purebred and there are more carefully bred dogs with dedicated breeders out there. Yes- their in ya face/space attitude can get tiring- but- when it boils down to it- we are there to promote responsible dog ownership and educate them on why we feel our own individual breeds are best
