Gosh I lived in the Sutherland Shire most of my life, and I don't think I ever went there. Such a shame. Might have to put the effort in and go for a day trip. Thx for sharing those great photos and letting us know the variety of animals for us to see.

That's interesting. As I have my original SLR with sigma (Pentax) lenses. Hmmmm you have me thinking. Didn't think they were any good for DSLR. Love my Pentax was so easy to use.

The Rock shots are Norah Head. It is such a beautiful area, but has become an area you can't go buy yourself to secluded area, just so dangerous. Yes we were just saying the last couple of years its really taken a dive. Where does your brother live? I lived South, Engadine then moved up here for family reasons, but yes would have moved South given the choice. Right now I'd go bush to get away from all the rot.

My favourite is the three giraffes heads. I had a giraffe place it's head next to mine once, one of my best memories. He could have sent me flying with the power, but nope he was quite content giving a head cuddle. Thx for sharing............. :D

Really nice portrait shots. Nothing like a new toy. :)

It depends where with the South Coast. We were at Engadine, a lovely quiet suburb in the middle of the National Park. But like everywhere it grew and grew, and the council wouldn't say no to units or villas, duplex on too many corners, and added no extra parking. It's happening everywhere. Look at The Entrance, the council is giving permission for more units to be built, but other units that have been up for sometime can't be sold, no ones interested. Actually that could be some good topic photos in that. So many Mum and Dad homes in the shadows of multi story units next door.

Thanks guys. :) Yes the Coast is over crowded. I want to move big time. We moved from South because of over crowding, now it's happening here very quickly.

With all the great info you've already received I'll just my little bit. As a beginner myself I would suggest a tripod or a monpod, it just helps with movement that being shown in some of your shots. Definately shutter speed is too slow, it's a personal choice but I like 125+. I too have taken a photographic course and yes it can be too much to take in, in such a short period. I found going out trying all different settings and writting it all down was one of the most helpful things. So when you download them you can refer back and see what happened with the different settings. Plus if you weren't sure put the camera on auto and have a look at its' setting and fiddle around those numbers. And as I say, if in doubt use Auto. Auto being my favourite setting also. Then when you have your shots, then comes editing for all your wonderful memories............ Good luck........... :)
