With Staffs people register the pieds as "white, red"; "white, brindle" etc. Stooopid but true :D Well that is silly isnt it but oh well Thanx all
-
Thanx Guys for that! I have thought of a theme, as i am a keen windsurfer ( when no pups around ) i have used some production equipment brands for names, Hence our Prefix aswell Comet Breeze Comet Breeze Starboard " Fanatic " Naish " Gaastra " Taboo " Dakine " Flying Objects And another thing i just realised that the transfer document was on the back of regitration papers after looking on Dogs West website for the life of me i couldnt find any transfer papers, so the penny dropped :p So Ill get those sent off and be able to sell pups with the signed transfer section of the Registration papers, as they all will be on Limited Register anyway i doubt that anyone would want to change the name anyway unless like Steve mentioned for agility so im not sure what we do here in the West in that instance. Also i have a red and white pied boy, what do i put on the registration papers for colour as on the ANKC Allowable breed colour listing PIED is not listed?

Hi we have a litter of 6 puppies and they now are 2 weeks and going great guns , My breeder has been around today to fill in registration paperwork and said to me when i asked does she a, make her names up and register litter now and then transfer in new owner names upon sale of pup or b, Wait untill all pups have gone and fill in the names with new owners chosen names and send off She said she has done both so i was unclear when thinking about it more later a sounds like some revenue raising and b is probebly prefered for me but was wondering what most people do as this is our first litter, have done some searching DOL but cant find a specific thread especialy for us over here in Western Australia Thanx

Yep thanx guys for confirming my thoughts, haha was a good try though But NO of course i wouldnt risk it. Has been having a little trott around the yard but like i said we have no grass only Decking and pavers and pebbled areas but that should be fine. She is spending a lot of time inbetween feeding lying on the cool tiles in the room next to the whelping box and can hear them quiet easily, and spending most of the night in with them. So yep thanx and will just stick to home entertainment forsure

My breeder advised me while she ( Maggie ) is nursing not take her out the front of the house at all as the risk of parvo is high, and it can live for 4-5 years in an area and we have only lived here for 18 months. So we havent but we havent the hugest yard as it has no grass out the back i believe she misses the short walk to the park for fresh air or even a wee on the front lawn and a roll . The pups are 2 weeks tomorrow and everybody is due to be wormed aswell all averaging 1Kg She just looks a little bored with it all as i had a little play with a ball with her this morning and she did a litlle run and wagged her tail, looked like she has missed all that , so is it too risky to take her out at the moment for a breather?

well i got home and only home an hour she splilled green fluid everywhere and started contracting so not mucking around and i am an hour away so i rang vet and i went straight in for a Ceaser. But we got 6 cute puppies, now home and mum has come too and met them closely watched my me and she is ferosiously cleaning them which is good, half of them were asleep but we ill get our timing right She not making huge amounts of milk so i have some Wambaroo also some tabs for Mum to bring on the milk, i spose ill keep an eye on them and swap them around on the rear teats?
-
Yes , we went vet and while waiting she lost her fluid in waiting room, so i thought that would be right, hahaa anyway ultrasound was ok vet said puppies heart rate was not stressed and said early labour has started and her temp was 37.5 so he gave me 2 options. 1, C -section while your here 2, Prog test and take her home and wait for result I took 2, She was keen to get of there and i to thought well i have to give her a chance to do it all naturaly so thats what we will do. At home now she is quiet again, panting but not heavily with a temp of 36.9. i'll ring vet at 4pm for prog test results and see how we go
-
No only see discharge twice, small amout too but heading off now to vet for ultrasound and we'll see how we go
-
Yes called the vet and he told us to sleep on it as it is an hours drive to them and see how she goes overnight, and to call back in the morning if no signs of labour. Slept near her last night and was happy all night sleeping, other than licking me at midnight for wee time she looks well, wet nose, coloured gills and wandering a little looking around and she has scratched in box very lightly. So am going to call agian soon and tell him all still the same with the same temp aswell of 36.7
-
Your vet will have a vet on call you can ring and ask questions yes? What breed is she? She is a Stafford, i could call vets and try them
-
Yes green mucas looking, very very light in colour, Bit late for vet now, temp still 36.7 and no signs of first stage of labour. not but i spose well see how we go tonight and maybe visit vet in the morning, other than that ill be sleeping near her and monitor her closely
-
Hi 61 dayz now and waiting for the first stage of labour, Just started measuring temp yetaerday it started at 37.8 @ midday then 37.3 @ 10pm, Today 37.1 then 36.5 and @ 3pm 36.8. So not sure if thats a temp drop or not as it gone back up a little? We just went for a little walk and i noticed a very light green discharge, should i be concerned? She has been happy just lying around sleeping today and is off her bickies for the last couple of days but is eating her raw chicken in the evening. She is a maiden and so am i Does all this seem normal?

Yes both parents Are clear by parentage, HC and L2,and yes it was covered in the exam, and maybe I could've done it later but I wanted to Have it all done for my puppys new owners. So we will continue with her normal exersize regime and let her tell us when she's had enough and we will now supplement her diet with some puppy mix and some raw chicken. Grow puppies grow And also I might be new at breeding but in no way would I go against the code. I have owned Bull breeds for over 30 years . I love my dog and the breed and I would like to do it right, I'm sorry if you are all rolling your eyes. But it's all good, no it's Xtra good just after the discharge I looked here for some advise, maybe I'll just stick with what I've got

Why do you need to keep her at home???????? Exercise her, she needs to be fit to have an easy labour, but don't take her to places dogs frequent - dog parks and beaches, vet clinics and the like. I agree Ssandra777 definatly will find a comprimize, sometimes its hard to find the right way with all the advice given but i spose we just have to do what feels right, without exposing her to dirty dog areas and the like, and i agree she will tell us when shes had enough
-
Thanx lappiemum, My breeders have been realy good and supportive and obviously i have their numbers on speed dial, And that is realy good news that the discharge can be normal, as far as keeping her away from other frequented dog areas, we will be doing that stringently for now on, goint to be hard but as she loves her exersise and so do i but before pregnancy she was very fit in preperation for pregnancy, so will keep her at home. We are looking after a family members dog at the moment for the next couple of weeks he is a 9 year old de-sexed male, she does love the company hence why we want to breed, mainly as we would like a second Stafford in the family for Maggie. Do you see him being here as a problem at all? Also do think low inpact swimming in our saltwater pool is a good idea or bad as my breeder suggests no excersize at all, which i can understand as she does sometime drink the pool water which we tell her off for...haha
-
Thanx ReadySetGo, watching her closely and will get her swabbed. we should of microchipped her ages ago i know but we didnt think of clearance for disaese for new puppie owners. so hope all is normal and the babies are well. do you Xray before welping to see what you have got, ie Large puppies or numbers? she also has put on a kilo since we did an ultrasound one week ago
-
And you didn't think to do any of that before you mated her? No actuly we didnt, but realising we have some puppies on the way we thought about our new puppie owners and what is expected, yes could have done it before but it is all new to us and a very big learning curve but we will get there. My priority hopefully is to learn from all the wealth of knowledge around me and on here so i can be preped and able to combat ant hicups along the way. which brings me back to Maggies discharge at day 39 ? Has anyone had this happen or have any calming words or more critisizm even
-
Took our Maggie to a new vet today to mainly just to get her microchipped and swabs for her HC and L2 and to sus out this vet that is 2nd nearest to me as the first one i lost confidence in last year for numerous reasons and other reports. Anyway all has been going well and while on the table i noticed a small discharge, bout the size of a 20 cent piece, milky colour. I started freaking and looked at the vet and she was unsure and said that she will call the vets i used to ultrasoundher 45 minutes away as she didnt know much about breeding :D , i said thats fine ill call myself. So i called the breeder of the stud dog as well who calmed me down and said to call them. so i called them and she said that it can be normal to have a small discharge but keep an eye out for it as if it goes pink or green thats not good but she still could be reabsorbing her puppies flustered and upset i come home So was wondering has anyone else experienced this and has any one got any advice as the more reading and research i do the more i stress about whats right and wrong. I took her to the beach this morning and she had a run cause i had backed off the exserise as she is a freak when it comes to balz and beach and will run till she vomits, but since we found out she is expecting we have just been walking, but from reading thought she should continue asnormal and she will dicide when shes had enough. but talking to my stud/ breeder friend she said i should lock her up in yard till pups are 8 weeks???? I like the natural side of things and want the best for my girl and dont want to miss out on life. So any thoughts?? i need a beer
