Perfect drr to me i have the little bucket ones for the show trolley i have now put that in for her as the sifdes are high i just have to make sure its pretty full most of the time. She will be coming with me to work all this week with 9 days to go i wont leave her home alone but also dont want to start leave till the bubbas arrive. Luckily its end of year and my boss is nice better buy him a few coffees this week. -
Today we have settled our girl nicely into the whelping box we have a bowl of water in with her but we are concerned about leaving it there when the pups arrive in case one managed to get in it so what type of bowl do people use inside the whellping box or do you not have any in there. At the moment we have the door on so she cant get out without us opening it. Which i think we will do while the bubbas are little.

Congratlations to all the new bubba we now have 9 days till due date. We made her whelping box all up for her this afternoon and she went straight in and laid down she will sleep in there over night now and she will go out when she wants to. Getting nervous now. Shaved her belly this afternoon and a nice grooming session now we just wait....

dogmate replied to dogmate's topic in Breeders Community
Ok thanks guys we will remain with our current diet then all progressing well and i dont want mummy getting to chubby. -
Hi, Both my mentors use pedigree puppy kibble and advanced puppy kibble just wondering what others feed pregnant botches then the pups when old enough in the way of puppy kibble. I want quality not that fussed on price just want to do the best. She of course will still get meat and bones etc just wondering what kibble my vet said start her on puppy food and when there i thought yep no worries then driving home i thought hang on which one....

There is a million studies done on this topic in humans and all types of animals. The nature v nuture debate. Nothing is ever conclusive and we relie on both for the characteristics. Also what one person thinks is great in a dog temperament wise is anothers persons nightmare. Doing dog sports i love an active dog however the person next door might like the lapdog next to them and think my dog is psycho where as i would think there was a boring temperament. I guess that why we have so many different breeds for many different purposes.

Yeah im such a novice it might have been tummy gurgling but that usually does feel different. Shes only a jack russell and has a belly full. Ultrasound says at least 5 which seems to be verging on the larger size vet couldnt co firm the exact number. I only wanted a small litter for our first evr litter oh well its already been a massive exciting learning curve.

I personally wouldnt be bothered with all those vitamins uless the dog is seriously lacking. To me its a socialisation problem. You need to slowly expose your dog to the scary environment i see many pups ruined at shows when taken to a show for the first time at 12 weeks in the height of their fear period and expected to perform. Id be taking it to a show keeping it out of the action and slowly increasing the exposure at each show. How many people had handled this dog before it went in the ring expected to stand like a rock possibly not allowed to move backwards from the big scary hands about to attack it of the judge. Its a scary thing going to a show if the pups not adequately exposed before hand. I would never put one of my dogs in that position unless i knew i had done all the training and socialising before entering the ring. Its harder to unlearn a scary event that be gradually exposed to it initially. Just my thoughts. Just re read and saw that another dog had run up your dogs butt again please people train for this its a disgrace that it happens but it does and we know it so train for it. Having an A surname mine are always at the front so i always teach them with another dog up their butt.

Hopefully our girl is due on 11 december from the first day of mating. This is our first litter ever so nervously awiting hoping we have done everything we can right. I have two very supportive people one being the breeder of our bitch and the owner of the stud fog both very experienced plus i have a fab vet wh i take puppy classes for every week so can ask her anything each week. All health tests were one on both dogs so fingers crossed now we wait and wait... One week down today.. 8 to go.....

We have just mated our bitch yesterday. She will have another mating all going to plan and come home tommorrow. Tis is our first litter and we are all nervous but have a fantastic breeder of our bitch the stud dog owner and also another jack specialist who are absolute darlings. Of course it will all have to be confirmed but i have already downloaded a pregnancy calandar so we can see thngs like when the ears develop etc. so the anxious wait begins. We have showed traned and trialled dogs for over 20 yrs but our first time breeding cant wait to watch the development

Not sure if i orginally put my wishlist on but i am totally stoked with my girls this year. One has earnt her JD, NE, RN my daughter and her dog have earnt a NE,RN, 1 AD pass 1 SD pass, 30 show points, my other girl had a freadful start to 2012 losing her leg but has lown me away and earnt her RN and has been in 2 jumping trials the last one she went clear and was .03 over course time if only i hadnt cut her nails the night before she might have managed a pass. My husband and his dogs one earnt her JD and 2 passes in AD and 2 passes in JDX, his other dog earnt her JDX title and needs one more pass for her ADX title she managed to get into the finals in agility at the nationals hige surprise. Not a bad comeback as my husband and i stopped trialling for nearly 9 years to have our children who are now 12 yrs and 9 yrs. managed to have one adiicted to dog sports but our son is more into motorbikes. Now we are about to mate our daughters bitch for the first time ever we will hopeflly hear the patter of tiny paws in december and our next little pup. On a sad note we did loose one of our oldies this year and one of my husbands girls has turned 11 this year still trialling but as thye get older you start to remember that time is limited then my girl lost a leg i thought it had been a bad doogy year till i popped into this post and realised what we achieved when i started writing so thanks guys

Rufus&coco Super Skin & Coat = Livamol
dogmate replied to espinay2's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
How much livamol wold you give a dog? Is it per kilo of dog a certain amount of livamol? A friend used it on her horse with stunning results how long does it take to start working ie. see changes in their coats -
I wold be concerned about how hot it wold be with no lining. Our tack box on the front of ours is checker plate and its hot inside it. Its seperate to the dog trailer put on afterward but having said that its got no whirly birds and its very heavy.

Yep all tests done to both which is why i took so long a dog i had my eye on the owner dint think it necessary to test??? The way we found him was by talking to many old timers in the breed club our own breeder who bred our bitch she knows pedigrees unbelievably. I had a few in mind first i just looked at as many dogs we cold see at a few specialties, the royal etc and local shows. I like one but his faults were smilar to hers the one i really like origianlly like i said wouldnt test her dog believing no issues are there its a waste of time....????so by talking to people a person in the breed club whose had jackies for ever suggested this dog first. Saw photos then met him in person and saw all his testing paperwork she also sent me photos and pedigree which i sent to my breeder who say it would be a good match it is a total outcross which i needed to do as my bitch is fairly closely bred and then if all goes to plan my breeder has my next line worked out for me. So nice to be in a supportive breed with wonderful people.

Hi, After almost two years of searching we have finally chosen a sire for our girl to be mated with. This has been a long process as i really want to do the right thing. I already have four people wanting pups plus and jacks semm to have smaller size litters. We have done all the health tests and the breeder of our girl had been fantastic guiding us through the way. Now we just wait and wait for her to come in season. I have warned my boss i will be taking leave but cant book it yet as we have to wait for her to come in season so we can work out dates. So excited this is my first litter i have always shown and trialled dogs since 1988 but this will be our first venture into having a litter and we are really looking forward to watching the pups develop and choosing the one i want all going to plan.
