I picked a friend p from her place yesterday and bought her around for christmas dinner. As she was locking her door i happened to look over the neighbours fence and saw at least 8 baby puppies the spotted me and like wild cubs botled back into their makeshift den dirt floor dug out hole with 4 star pickets holding up a peice of tin for a roof and chicken wire for walls. I was shocked. My frie d said that was the first time she had seen the pups but doesnt tend to look over as the neighbours are a bit strange. She did see a dog and bitch tied in the yard one afternoon and goes in ans says do u realise that your dog and bitch are tied they go what she said they are mating they say oh yeh they have been doing that the last few days she said well you better be ready for puppies in the next 9 weeks they ki d of shrugged it off. Ahhhh glad my babies were at home in the nice cool laundry with their nice clean mummy who is nice and fit and well fed no ribs showing and my babies were cool, clean chubby babies who snuggle when you pick them up. I dont think these pups have even been handled let alone wormed vaccinated both parents are crossbred pig dog types. Then on the front lawn there is a guinea pig cage with kittens in it ahhh get your animals desexed idiots.

Thanks it was hard yesterday but today mum zoe seems so much more relaxed think it was stressfull for her as well us going in all the time interferring to feed whitey today we gave her alot of alone time and she was definately more settled.

You have certainly had a rough year. Bring on 2013 im done with 2012 now but as my vet said tonight although the year was bad for us with losing our old girl and my other dog in feb had her leg amputated we still have 4 gorgeous bubbas who hopefully continue to grow they put on average 20 grams a day amazing stuff. Sadly at 12:30 our little whitey lost her fight and earnt her wings. I felt bad as i wen to work just for the morning and my 12 yr old daughter was at home with her vet had given her a slim chance she was given some antibiotics and sub cut fluids i had to race i to work and she passed away. My daughter was really upset understanably but i said to her that zoe can now concentrate on her big healthy babies. We tried so hard but i think she just wasnt meant for this world this time. She will be well looked after at rainow bridge by our old girl we lost earlier this yer she loved babies. ????

Our little whitey is really struggling today after gaining weight the last two day including this morning but she is very very flat. I feel she will earn her wings today. Off to the vet and see whatshe says. The others have already doubled their birth weights but she is yet to reach hers gaining only 8 grams in 4 days. I think so ething is wrong with her and not just that shes small my daughter is home with them today have already warned her what to do if whitey dies hope it doesnt happen while shes here by herself.

I am told liver water is amazing at picking up tiny puppies strength? Liver water i havent heard of it before where d you get that from?

Thanks dasha im determined all right i have to take a puppy class at the vets on thursday so if she makes it till them im gong to take her in just for a check over. She put on 2 grams overnight and i must weight her before a bit early usuually do it at 4pm for consistency and shes put on another 2 grams today 2 gains she goes 2 steps forward one step back. I bought a whole avent sterlising pack with 4 baby bottles and teats yesterday from st innies for $5 but the teats are newborn human size way to big so called into vets and ended o with divetalact they were waiting ina delivery of wambaroo it was supposed to come yesterday but i needed it now and wasnt going into town again 40 min drive each way. I picked up a puppy teat and bottle and she managed to suck out of it 5mls which is amazing usually i can only get her to have 3 when we went from. 2 ml to 3 ml i was hoping it wasnt that last ditched attempt at life and i hoping that again. Every morning i go in hesitantly but am pleasantly surprised cant say im pleasantly surprised at the 3 am feed.

Little whitey still hanging in i niticed shes a bit scoury this morning so will talk to ve about that i assume its like when we poddy lambs they lways seem to get scours i think itsthe milk can never be as good as mums and i know the others o on for a lot more shotprt feeds. Each day is a move forawrd but syill i wonder if something is wrong with her when i put her on zoe she doesnt wrap her tongue out and around the nipple like the others

Well day three and little whitey is still hanging in there. Her weight goes up and down. Im feeding her every three hours round the clock. She seems to get stronger and reaches out for the syringe to suck it i put her on mum before each feed and sometmes she gets some other times i dont think she does. She is weeing and pooing well just that i cant get her to continually gain weight. Im using biolac so thinking of calling into vet and getting divetalact maybe a different formula might work better for her??. I bought a baby bottle with newborn teat but its too big for her little mouth. The others are packing on weight so obviously nothing to do with mums milk. Shes moving around more doesnt appear dehydrated but as i said just the unstable weight is a worry.

Is nutridrops a vet line or some where like pet barn? The nutri drops are like extra vitamins are they to help her suck? So far so good shes starting to look for the teat when i put her on zoe i do that before i feed her i think she got some as she had milk around her lips but i then went on to get her to take 2.5 mls shes definately gotten stronger from last night so hope she can get through another night last night she was quite dehydrated. Ihad always said i will keep the one i love the most as triaaling is more my thing than showing this one is mismarked so def only pet so if she survives she might be my keeper otherwise to a good friend of mine.

Our little girl is still struggling got her through another night shes lost 8 grams off her birth weight i started supp feeding her last night shes just so weak can only try shes def hydrated a bit over night with these feeds. Shes making a few more little noises this morning. The other four are going great. Fingers crossed i will do what i can for her. One of my mentors reccomended icecream mixed with the biolac her vet told her this apparently its got the extra glucose for while they are struggling then stop it once they are stronger she saved a few like this over the years. I can only get her to take 2 mls at a time she oly weighs 90 grams.i got her to wee and poo first time i had done it. And maybe shes just not meant to be.

Comgratulations blitza and ash. Im thinking the same dont take them if everything is ok . Just got my trouble girl onfor a good feed all have put on weight already except this girl shes lost weight so have been going in every hour just got the best feed into her so far if i get her on shes getting stronger to suckshe had all milk around her mouth so assume shes getting it i have checked for cleft palate ot that i really know what im looking for but after looking at google images cant see anything. Thnk shes just a bit slow. We had a lamb born last year like that we had to put ewe and lamb in the stable and hold mum and get lamb on this went on for about a week then thye were fine didnt want to poddy it she was smaller than the other lambs but was ok.

Come on ash you can do it. Poor girl must be tired we had yesterday of being restless all day but was totally surprised how quickly it was all over with. Bubbas are going ok still concerned about the girl. Im going to take them to the vet on monday for a check up they said if i was concerned bring them in but all semm ok and mum is oing ok she is laying on the heat pad with them as its a bit cold here today. Not super keen on taking them to the vets as theres been alot of parvo around luckily im out of town and fully vaccinated but im scared to take mum and bubs in Question how do you travel with them put them all in a crate with mum or i was thinking mum on backseat with babies in a box so she can still see them she stresses about the when i make her go out to the toilet.

Our bubbas are jack russells fibal count was 5 three boys two girl. One giirl was slow to get going and slow to feed just kept putting her on over night and this morning seems to be going ok mums milk s coming in nicely. Is it recommended for a vet check today or wait till monday my vets are closed sunday except for emergency. Mum and bub seem fine mum still has discharge not smelly just bit yucky ill clean her up this morning i didnt want to worry her too much last night

We have babies. She waited till my daughter got home from school she is her dog she trains and trials her. She was home for about 10 minutes and she presented the first pup that was at 5:40pm she jad had four three boys and a girl. We wAnted a boy so pretty excited. The little girl is quite small and having trouble gettiing her to suck she wants to but not opening her mouth the other were half out and already turning to find a teat. She was sluggish from the start she how she goes. Mum has had an egg flip have changed her beddign and wait to see if she has another.

I know it does with me!! LOL Yep i think me too. I must be nesting cause im ironing and i ate ironing but feel i need to get it done in between mumma checks

As ive never one this before my two mentors are being driven crazy by emails and phone calls they will be glad its over have two friends wo breed also on stand by. Silly bugger has scratched the top of her nose rearrangng her bedding. Still got to spend tome working out how to post photos might be up all night so can do it then

Had to race into work for a bit but home again my girl is shivering now but not panting is little anxious. I let her outside to go toilet did a million wees one poo not as firm as usual but not sloppy then i pulled the washing in the whole time shes going from the back door to ke door to me as if to say open it now i want back in my box so i open the door and she runs in there. Other days she goes in happily but doesnt run in and flop in there so we must be having some action just wonder how long this will go for?

We are on day 60 today this morning she is acting different sookier remade all her bed so the start of nesting and shaking a tiny bit no panting yet think we are starting to progress no work for me today. Waiting.....waiting.......
