  1. I'm in the same boat as you Dandybrush. Although at my parents or grandparents house I get told off if I don't bring the dogs along especially on Christmas. My Grandparents actually buy them presents At my in-laws place if we brought the dogs we would probably have to stand in the front yard
  2. With our boy we started off by making it really easy. Like kibble that fell out as soon as he started playing with it or just some penut butter smeared around the opening. Then gradually making it harder and harder for him to get treats out. We can now freeze mince in it and he works to get it all out.
  3. I've just got a flat collar and lead because thats all I've ever used. I still need to get: - a bed (to go in the crate) - a Kong (absolute must have in our household) - Toys (including a soft one to cuddle) - Water and food bowls - Puppy Food - worming/ flea protection - grooming tools - We have booked into a puppy preschool and I'm sure I've left stuff off this list but its all I can think of at the moment
  4. So far I have the collar, lead, crate and bed. I still have quite a few things I want to get. Just want the time to hurry up
  5. That is the cutest thing ever Whiskedaway. She looks so proud of herself.
  6. How exciting we all get our puppies around the same time.
  7. Exactly three weeks till I get my little girl. Is anyone else getting their puppies soon?
  8. I think because people aren't friends with you on Facebook they can't see the photo?
  9. Wuffles and KTB have fun at agility. Its great fun and my boy loves it.
  10. What a great story of a persons dedictaion to their pets. Even after everything that has just happened

  12. I'll be there (not that anyone wil know who I am)
  13. He is a Red and White Border Collie but gets called a variety of other things blonde, caramel, champagne I don't mind if our next puppy (whose name is now Rumour) favours my OH more I just want to be able to handle her in Flyball and agility as I love these sports and want to get back into them
  14. I agree would make life so much easier
  15. My MIL is the worst at this. We stopped by her house and had Diesel with us he then tried to intiate play with her "backyard ornament" (a Kelpie) and then both Diesel, my OH and I got yelled at. Because dogs playing together encourages them to bite people especially children :p I don't mention dogs around her anymore its just easier
  16. Hi All, I've been a lurker in this thread for a while so I thought I'd say hi. It has been interesting reading this thread with the people getting their second dogs and their experiences. I currently have a Border Collie Diesel and I am getting a second Border in about four weeks time. Like others we are getting the second one for company as well as a variety of other reasons. Diesel is very much my OH's dog, he worships the ground he walks on. Whilst I do majority of the training at home my OH runs with Diesel in agility and Flyball because he just goes that little bit better for him. I hope that I will be able to bond more closely to our little girl but only time will tell. And then I can get start competing in the sports I love with her (once she's a bit older) Here's my handsome man (sorry about the crappy quality)
  17. How exciting DogNerd and Nadine83 You shall have to update us with photos
  18. Another one to recommend this DVD after using it my boy loves his crate. No hassles at all
  19. I chose other for 'what is your reason for your preffered sex' as I want a female because I already have a boy and I'd like to have one of each sex. Apart from that I've only ever had boys so I guess you could say they are my preffered sex but I've never been fussed with with the sex, a dog that suits me and my family has been the deciding factor.
