  1. Hey Chigibub, can you not type in capitals next time? It's like shouting OK, does your little one interact with any other dogs, or is his only contact with your 2 year old? Has anyone suggested to you to get him into some socialisation and obedience at puppy classes? That is REALLY important if you got him at only 4 weeks He needs the interaction with other puppies and dogs to learn the things he's missed out from his litter mates and mum. This is also REALLY important as well, given his breed. What state do you live in? It's unlikely he'll cut her face, even with puppy teeth - she will let him know when enough is enough. Slightly off topic, but do you know what breed specific legislation is? If not, I suggest you do a search and what it means for your boy. ETA, just saw you live in Adelaide - check out some puppy schools/obedience, and definitely read up on BSL
  2. g'day there, how does the two yr old react to the youngster? Does she put up with it, or does she get narky at him? If it's not major, perhaps let the dogs work it out for themselves, or try distracting him with training or toys.
  3. You're dogs' angels, Warls and Xcel.
  4. So sorry to hear this news. RIP Shadow - no more limps now, you can run to your heart's content.
  5. No! Not Pyro! He's the pinup boy for BSL as far as I'm concerned. Thinking of you Xcel, Warls and Luci. He'll always be with you.
  6. Does this also relate to regional specific diseases such as lepto?
  7. We had the intention of our guys being outside at night dogs, and it worked for the first couple of weeks with Indy. Then we had a number of nights where it was BUCKETING down with lots of really close thunder and lightning, and he was out in the rain scratching on the back door to come in (it was a rental). That was probably the opportunity to crate him, but we were suckers! Now we can't believe we'd let a little tacker outside (even when it can be totally sheltered), and when Keg came he never had a night outside. We absolutely love having them sleep with us, it's just so special, but I understand it's not for everyone. Would NEVER do it with a skinkid though, that's just sick!
  8. www.pricelesspets.com.au for heartwork/fleas prevention Use the banner links here - they've been "vetted"
  9. Hi BB What's Stella's reaction to the younger boy? Is she interacting just as much? If so, it could be all just part of play. She's not an old dog at 3 years and would be quite capable of putting the younger one in his place - he's still a pup after all, and is likely to settle down a bit. My beagle boys are 6 months apart, and it's actually the older one that engages the younger one more often for a good rumble. Sometimes the younger one sounds like his leg is being chewed off, but that's just his vocalisations. If one of them has had enough they will most surely let the other know, so in that regard it sounds to me like the rumblings going on with your two are pretty normal. As for his naughty behaviour - has he got access to toys to distract him from the washing, digging, chewing etc? Nothing is as good a distraction as meaty bones to keep them occupied - fair chance he's go for that than anything else. Wherever possible, don't provide access to the things he destructs. We're fortunate in that our guys have not once touched the washing or dug, and the things they chew are what they're allowed to. He might be a good candidate for agility or lure coursing - no idea of facilities down your way though. Good luck.
  10. Oh it was just some random burglar that broke in and bled all over your place instead of nicking stuff
  11. OMG my screen wore it AGAIN! Isa you crack me up!
  12. Imagine the damage a rocker recliner could do I think it just goes to show you have to be very careful where you purchase your couches from. You just don't know the background of second-hand ones. Always go through a reputable furniture store.
  13. Run free little one. So glad it was peaceful.
  14. Greenies do the same thing to our guys. Never buying them again - and they're expensive. ETA: just the look of those el cheapos give me the runs actually. Not exactly natural looking are they?
  15. That's what I think of them. They can be dangerous when broken into smaller bits and can cause a choking hazard. I find pigs ears to be better.
  16. I think she knows you're just pretending to eat her food. She needs to see you actually eating it so she knows that YOU are the boss :D Do a search on NILIF (nothing in life is free). Be consistent in what you want her to do, and don't do.
  17. Really sorry to hear this, Griff. I'm sure his best days were with you. :hugs:
  18. You'll try harder to go way off topic? You bewdy! ;) It's actually not that hard See? Never had one lesson!
  19. Actually, that's very useful information for Skwo2. If there's moisture on the tongue that's how the tongue gets stuck on the ice in wintertime because that moisture freezes the tongue in place. If she allows her tongue to go dry, there's less likelihood of that happening ;) This very thing happened to a poor unfortunate fellow who was reaching for an item in the back of his freezer - he had his tongue sticking out and it got stuck to the side of the freezer. I think there's a lesson in that for all of us.
  20. Ichthamol (sp?). Black and steenky, from the chemist. Great for getting out splinters if tweezers haven't worked. :D
  21. You will NOT get a litter because you will be a responsible pet owner and DESEX your girl, won't you? When you mean icy pops, do you mean ice cubes? Yes, ice cubes are fine. Teething is probably a little uncomfortable, but it doesn't last too long. Saying no to her when she chews your feet is good, give her a toy to distract her. How's your tongue today, skwo2?
  22. It's on the bag, TB - Dream Show name: Pumpkin Dreamer ;)
  23. Photos? Highly doubtful she would have burnt her tongue. You can check if it was hot by placing your own tongue on the metal cover. If you don't get burnt it's probably ok.
