Best friends pets also has an adoption program, but with kittens not dogs. I don't think its such a bad idea, as long as they find the right home for the dog.

Joey brings me a ball, if i don't play with him, he'll play with the ball by himself, and then cry when it goes under my bed and he cant reach it.

Joey sleeps in his crate in the family/kitchen room/area. When he gets let out of his crate he always comes upstairs to my room, and then hogs half my bed for the rest of the morning.

Awww, he's just to cute! You could get a "portable" doggy door, I've seen them at shops like best friends pets, they sit in the rails of the sliding door, so you can have the play pen on the inside and he has access to the grass outside.

Joey and I would like to come, should be able to make it now that i have my car back. :D

Thanks for the responses, sheena, that's what i am starting to think. I take him to obedience training on Saturdays and he has no problems with the guys there. His usual reaction towards new people is to get all excited and try to jump on them or smell them. I think my uncle may have been wearing a beanie and my neighbor has a mustache. He seemed offended when joey growled at him. Joey seems to have something against my uncle though. One minute hes fine to take treats / be patted next thing hes backed off and growling / barking. and this is while we are at my uncles place too. Could it be because my uncle has a dog? Joey can smell his dog on him?

My 7 month old whippet, Joey, seems to be afraid of guys. He literately pissed him self, while growling, barking and running away, when my uncle walked in the door at my grandmothers house. Whats confusing me though is that Joey has met my uncle on at least three other occasions, even taken treats from him. And Joey growled at my neighbor the other day. Ive never seen him act like this towards a woman, only men. :confused:

got him from a rescue group, they were feeding supercoat puppy. he gets the occasional bone and i mix a teaspoon or two of wet food into the dry food. On walks if he finds any food ppl have thrown on the ground he will have a go at eating it, I try my best to stop him. Should have seen how proud he looked when he found a dead bird and picked it up to bring it home with him

Hi, I have a five month old whippet who i am feeding advance puppy dry food. For the most part I'm happy with the food, its just that his poo gets very sloppy sometimes. Is there anything i can add to his diet to stop the sloppy poo or should i try a different brand of food?

Thanks for all the replies, CE WE its hard to ban him from the kitchen my house is open plan living, he now has a crate so if he cant be supervised hes in there or out side. I don't normally leave food out so its only crumbs on the table. I will try the growling/roaring at him. i did slap the table last time i caught him and hurt my hand Max#1 and Christina those pictures are too cute :D

Hi, I have a 5 month old whippet who likes to put his front paws on the kitchen table and bench to see/smell whatever is on there. No amount of telling him no and shooing him away from the table & benches works. Any one have any solutions to the problem?

letting you guys know trip was a success, learned a bit along the way, like don't make the trip there at night time and bring something to stop the dog from getting car sick But joey has settled in well, hes sleeping at the moment :D

I keep telling my bf that, hes never had a dog before. and the ppl that have told me its too far most of them have or have had dogs, spose they are just not willing to travel that far when they can get one closer to home. but i agree for the right dog its worth the trip.
