Working at a vet, I have found 99% of dogs are completely fine when their owners leave them. Some pull towards the door to follow their owners initially but the moment that door shuts they happily trot down to the cages.

Thumbs up poodlefan. Find it odd that a pound would rehome an unsterilised dog though. And why was an unsterilised male with a bitch in season?

A choir of malamutes

I had this happen with one of my dogs and it was coming from her anal glands. She would clean herself up but I would find it on the tiles. Took a while to realise where it was coming from. Very scary at the time but after some abs. All sweet.

I had the same problem with my next-door neighbors dog and mine throwing themselves at the fence. I ended up buying chicken wire from bunnings and star pickets and made an inside fence about 1 metre inside the barrier fence. Not had any issues since.

My dog has had this happen twice now. She had rads done and it was neck pain. It was horrible to watch and hear her in pain. Anti inflammatories and pain relief (tramadol) were given, and strict rest. It took her a few days but luckily she did get over it. I thought she had hurt her leg to begin with as she wouldn't walk on it and screamed but u could see on the X-rays where she was sore. Hope your little one feels better soon.

They have ponchos for dogs? Or did you buy/modify human ones? Just people ones. But very easy to modify.
