  1. what INCREDIBLE pictures - the photographers did such an amazing job - you really CAN see their personalities. beautiful beautiful!!!
  2. well there is parrmatta park? Im not sure whether or not you guys would be willing to go there? and it is VERY big lol so we would need to say a particular place in the park. but that is completely unfenced and you need to leave your dogs on lead there? Any other suggestions?
  3. oh awesome - well why dont we come on here on the day and let each other know whether or noty we are going - and if we are we can organise to meet and say hi??
  4. Thanks so much guys. I know that dogs learn things differently in different places. for example, jenna will obdeiently stay at the back door until I tell her she can come in but she wont stay anywhere else! lol I don't give him consequences... he just doesn't get cuddles. he doesn't get pats etc if he doesnt do what I ask, when he DOES do what I ask, he gets a lot of praise and cuddles.
  5. Hi guys, I just wanted some opinions/advice on Max (this time lol)... he is an incredibly intelligent dog but is now persuaded by food, or toys... so it makes it reasonably hard to train him - although we just make sure we train him before eating and normally its ok. The difference between him and jenna is that jenna will listen to every word I say and do it immediately, she is so good! whereas max, although older, has a serious stubborness issue. He will literally look at me like I am a fool if I ask him to do something... unless he REALLY wants something, he most of the time refuses to listen to me. EG. If they are sitting at the back door waiting to come in and I say 'sit', they are so excited for about 10 seconds that they just go a little crazy, and then when they see the door isn't opening they sit immediately. If the back door is open and I come inside and turn around and say 'stay', they will stay until I let them come in, whether or not I walk away to do something else or not. HOWEVER... If I am lying on the lounge and I ask max to sit he will just stare at me... then walk away... then he'll come back and the process will start again... I know it is about a pack leader thing, and I think jenna has finally learned that I am pack leader... sometimes... its very difficult for me when I have grown up NOT being the pack leader! lol I just want to hear similar stories and how people have dealt with it... maybe even some funny stories... and please, if someone wants to have a go because I am not doing the right thing, then say it in a friendly way! Thanks in advance guys!
  6. If she is thriving on it then thats excellent and you should be raving about how well it works for your dogs! as some have said - its personal preference and how well the dogs go in. great that your dog is going so well on this dog food!
  7. very much so. And I cant stop looking at it. what a beautiful effing dog. cant get over it! lol
  8. I agree. There was a recent thread on here where I was asking about my young GSD's poos (they wwere sloppy) and I was recommended royal canin - because they have one specifically for GSDs - and I have tried it and she LOVES it and her poos are much better. The main thing on the thread was that each dog is different, some do better on one food and some do better on another. it just depends on your dog. I would probably go advance though as I have tried it when Jenna was a puppy puppy, as in around 12 weeks old, and she liked it.
  9. do you know why they're doing it? is it just a promotional thing?
  10. http://www.freewebs.com/seniordogs/Charli.jpg This is a chi x (apparently, found the pic on google) chi's and poms have much smaller and 'squishier' faces than the dog in the photo but by God it is an incredible looking dog!!!!!!! very very good looking! have absolutely fallen in love with it! I thought it might be a tibetan until I looked on google and saw pics of tibetans and it looks nothing like any of them. lol
  11. I voted this morning but for some reason my post didnt come up on this thread? hope she wins! she is BEAUTIFUL!
  12. I thought Pet Plan Australia was also separate?? Oh good that would make 3! Pet plan is under allianz i have been researching and from a glance they sounded like the ones to go with. - plus, if they are the mdba winner then thats a pro. I also liked the fact that if your dog gets lost they will actually pay for advertising fees and a reward! pretty nifty!
  13. awesome, ordered. thanks very much for letting us know - its handy because I give my dogs interceptor already
  14. What? Why on earth would you put your dog in that situation? What did you think the outcome would be? What would you have done if Jenna did turn around and nail the Lappie? Excuse me, but I didn't 'put my dog in that situation' - it is an incredibly big park and we stayed away from the dog, I turned around and then turned back and Jenna was over sniffing the other dog. And I would've gone over there and gotten her away from the Lappie. There were about 20 other people in the dog park, do you expect us all to leave from one dog? We just went about our business staying away from the dog. The woman shouldn't have brought the dog in in the first place. I understand where you are coming from but don't condemn ME because I wasn't even expecting Jenna to go near the dog... and yes yes 'expect the unexpected' - its happened now. Its over. jennas fine. next time someone comes into the dog park asking that sort of question I will leave. Oh and thanks for the good wishes for jenna
  15. BEAUTIFUL! absolutrly beautiful - so glad you have fallen in love with him so quickly!
  16. you could try contacting paypal - they can sometimes sort that stuff out - thats the good thing about paypal correct me if im wrong though - but I assumed you could contact paypal and they could refund you the money.
  17. I shouldn't have read this post - you're all evil! I've already bought something and I've only been on the website for like a minute!!!
  18. well, going by what I've read ..... Ahhh fair enough
  19. Hi Leelaa17, I'm sorry to hear that Jenna got attacked. I would stay away from such crazies. If anyone asked me that question, I would get out of the dog park asap. It's not worth putting your dog in such a situation. Thanks very much odiegenie. I appreciate that Lucky she is ok. She's a bit of a sook though and wouldnt leave my side. lol I know. if anyone ever asks me that question again I am going to be out of there so fast they wont even see me leave.
  20. De-gas contain simethicone,a substance which is apparently not absorbed into the bloodstream, and which takes millions of gas bubbles, breaks down teh walls of them,, and forms them into larger bubbles, but less of them. This can be of great help in reducing bloating/pain , etc...and helps make burping easier/more effective .. ;) They are very handy to always have in your cupboard/bag- for people and/or dogs! I have much experience with using these ...my Mum had to have them all the time ... Oh im sorry to hear that your mum had to have them all the time! that sucks! I cant imagine what it would be like to have a lot of gas just building up in your body. I can imagine it would be very painful though! And why do you say apparently not? lol
  21. Thanks bartok. that is really interesting! have you ever tried it before?
  22. I also agree if it is a behaviour issue then contact K9 pro.
