My dog loves seeing animals on TV, he doesn't bark but he just runs up and stares at them. Once when the horse racing was on the news he looked behind the tv when the horses ran off the edge of the screen. Sorry if this pic is massive

Golden Retriever :)

In my last lot of BH there were several bit of other kibble in there, a couple that looked like fish (I'm guessing cat food?) a couple of largish square bits and a couple of other shapes as well. I found maybe 10-15 pieces of random food throughout the whole 20kg bag. Didn't worry me, just gave it to my dog anyway but I found it interesting.

Made me cry as well. I think the ad was well done. Still would never buy the product though...

My Golden Retriever is a fan of taking things off the kitchen bench if I have been silly enough to leave it on there. He has gotten a packet of feta cheese, a packet of good shredded parmesan cheese and a tub of butter on two seperate occasions, he sneaks his treasures down to the garden to eat then comes back with the empty packets as presents for me

The same thing was happening with my friends lab, he was forever at the vet and trying everything like bandaging it, splinting it, different creams etc, eventually the vet made the decision that it would be best to cut off half of the dogs tail. It has all healed up fine and now he just wags his stump and butt as vigorously as ever..

Same here! Bummer... maybe it works for some and not others, or maybe it's just an old wive's tale...

Hi greg, I have heard that apple cider vinegar is good for hot spots but I'm not sure how to give it to my dog. I agree with all of these ones, but like others have said it's a matter of finding what works for your dog. I have a golden retriever too and the first time he got a hot spot I took him to the vet as I didn't know what it was and came home with antibiotics and cream and he was shaved as well. Now I know what they are and how to deal with them I have found that if I just gently wash it with some diluted dettol solution and then sprinle on curash or other sort of antiseptic powder that generally does the trick. I used to feed mine supercoat and he got a few hot spots, now I feed black hawk and only got one hot spot (really small) this whole summer so it might be something to think about.

I buy from Julana and the service is fantastic. Always responds to emails quickly and delivers within a few days, never a problem. Have reccommended a few friends to use Julana as well and they are all happy too.

Does anyone know why they have changed the packaging to proper packaging with pictures and stuff on it? Will it start costing more?

Sorry thread hijack, would coconut oil help with skin irritations like hot spots? my GR gets them in the summer months and I want to try things other than the obvious brushing out excess hair and keeping him dry...

We only have the one at the moment too. Snowy, a 14 month old Golden Retriever. My OH wants another dog, a Bernese Mountain Dog, but I'm not too sure as I am the one who looks after Snowy most of the time now and my OH is looking at getting a job out in the mines so it would just be me and the dogs half the time. Maybe if we buy our own house next year and the yard is big enough we will look into it. I am pretty sure there is generally a bit of a waiting list for berners so it wouldn't be for a little while anyway...

I wonder if you could offer to pay some money extra to then get back on proof of de-sexing? Like a couple of hundred dollars or something and have a written agreement that the extra money will be refunded to you on proof of desexing?

My dog loves watching any tv shows with animals, or the football. He will get up and run to the tv and just stand in front of it and watch. When the horse racing is on the news he looks around the back of the tv to see where all the horses went after they run off the side of the screen. I think it's pretty cute. I have a 14 month old male Golden Retriever, he weighs 37kg but it quite tall for a Golden and is not overweight. I feed him 3 cups of Black Hawk a day. He loves it and is in great condition. It isn't too expensive either, about $85 for 20kg including delivery and you don't have to feed as much as you do with Supercoat...

Mine doesn't get plush toys anymore, he just destroys them within about 3 seconds of getting them, regardless of what I get him... He will have to make do with rubber toys, empty milk bottles and palm fronds...

Aussies LOVE swimming, they were dying to go splashing in the waves, but they were told not to and they are seven really well-behaved dogs who showed an amazing amount of restraint. Wow, that's amazing! There is no way in hell that I could keep snowy out of the water if we were at the beach unless I had him on a leash or made him sit next to me and kept and eye on him the entire time! That is an amazing amount of control and training that those dogs have!

Beautiful photos! How did you keep them all out of the water? This might be a silly question but do Aussies not like swimming?

Have you given any more thought to Black Hawk, I have recently switched over to it after trying Advance, Nutro, Royal Canin and Supercoat and my Golden Retriever loves it. He is in great condition as well and their ingredients look really good?

The boxer pup is doing well now, they took her to the vet and he gave them some special food for her and stuff and I think she is putting weight on and acting normal now We are just waiting for them to arrive to watch the football with us and the dogs can have a play together

So so so cute, Nadsy was so excited about the little babies born on his birthday. He thinks that because they were born on his birthday he needs to get one to be a little brother to Sapper :D hahah, his girlfriend said no though because she just got a Boxer pup a couple of weeks ago...
