Thanks very much for the replies. :D

Can anyone advise where in Canberra I might be able to get Black Hawk? Is there a distributor/supplier for this area at all? I have emailed the BHH website direct but so far no answer. Cheers Staffordgal

My girl loves them, but they are gone too quickly and I find they pack the weight on her a bit too so I don't buy them very often. I agree with trying the roo tails though, they are great and take a lot longer to get through.

Australian Made, Premium Dog Foods?
staffordgal replied to Fourjays's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The Uncle Albers kibble is half the size of the Great Barko one, so little breeds should cope well on the Albers. My staffords love both kibbles, so I alternate between them. Cheers Staffordgal -
Thankyou to each of you for all your ideas, it has certainly given me some new things to try with him. His main issue is with meat, his kibble isn't a problem, he eats this normally. But with meat or bones, it's as if he's scared that someone esle will take it! Even though I split both he and his mum up at mealtimes, he insists on gulping and swallowing things whole so that it isn't stolen!! Thanks again, will hopefully find something listed to help slow him down a bit! Cheers Staffordgal

My stafford boy has been a gulper since about 8 weeks old. I'm starting to have problems with what I can feed him as we have had a few instances of near-choking. To date he has raw and dry combined, but I have to feed the chicken wing pieces (wings cut at the joints and sometimes necks) one piece at a time, and he hardly ever chews! Does anyone have any suggestions? Would chicken frames slow him down perhaps?? Cheers Staffordgal

Of All The Cheaper Dry Dogfoods Which Is The Best?
staffordgal replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
+1 +2 Another Uncle Albers and Great Barko fan here. My staffords' coats have never looked better since starting on this kibble. -
For anyone in the Canberra area that, like me, was finding it difficult to source this kibble, it is finally available in Queanbeyan. I have managed to get our local CRT store on Yass Rd to order it in and they have a large pallet load of both Uncle Albers and Great Barko kibble at only $30 a bag. Bags are 22kg. Cheers Staffordgal.

What Is Your Dogs Favourite Foods?
staffordgal replied to Pepi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My two staffords go absolutely nuts when they smell bacon cooking on a sunday morning, and just love getting the bacon rind. Drives them both crazy! -
Hiya j, Maadii Pets is in the same street as Joe's Motorcycles (the one the Commonwealth bank is on the corner of), further down on the corner where you would turn down to go to The Good Guys. Wish I could remember the street name!! Staffordgal

Don't they sell pups there though? :p The groomers at Hume also stock the EP range, although some blends have to be ordered in... Petbarn is stocking a few super-premium foods now, and if you ask they may order EP in for you too. I didn't see any pups there on Saturday, they had fish birds and rabbits but that was it. Oh cool, Hume is much closer for me so will check them out too. Thankyou!!

Hi everyone, Just incase there are some of you out there who like me, have been finding it difficult to track down suppliers of Eagle Pack here in Canberra, I have finally found a place that stocks it!! Powell's Pet Store at the Fyshwick Markets is the place to go. Cheers Staffordgal :D

Wow, thankyou guys for all your posts, I have taken absolutely everything on board and will give it all a go. Hopefully I will find a mixture there that will be the best for her. I will also try and source out some of this Nutro that some of you have been talking about, it sounds like its the dog version of sticky date pudding!!! I am in Canberra but if I can't get it here, I might be able to get it from Sydney. Will give the mixed BARF & vegies a go, aswell as vegie/mince mix and see how she likes that. I certainly make sure that she gets plenty of BARF, but just always assumed that kibble gave them that 'little bit more' vitamins and minerals. I still can't believe that I have a stafford who won't eat certain things though! My other stafford used to inhale food!! The mind boggles!... Cheers and many thanks!!! Staffordgal

Thankyou to everyone who has posted a reply!! I can also add though that my stafford doesn't really like vegies but will eat them if there aren't too many, and will eat a little rice. Hates pasta though. I could have also added Optimum to that list of previously tried biscuits, as I have bought that one before too, with no joy there either. She will, however, eat anything the cat eats, both tinned and dry biscuits, so are there any major probs with this? I'm not too keen on her eating tinned food but I don't want her to starve either!! I do want to make sure that she is getting all the necessary vitamins though. Cheers Staffordgal

Hi everyone. You guys will probably find this hard to believe but I have a very fussy stafford who has so far refused to eat any brand of kibble offered to her. She is almost 2 years old and happily eats raw chicken wings/necks and lamb, plus bones, but I am finding it impossible to please her with regard to kibble. So far she has rejected Supercoat, Bonnie, ProPlan and the cheaper brands like Meatybites & LuckyDog. Do any of you guys know of an extra tasty type of kibble that might persuade my stafford to eat it? Is there one for extra fussy eaters?? I am willing to try anything, regardless of cost. Thanks heaps Staffordgal

Canberra Vets, Where Do You Go?
staffordgal replied to missymac's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
West Queanbeyan Vet Clinic gets my vote. I always take our staffords and the cats there and find all that work there to be wonderful and they are very reasonable with price also. When I lived in Tuggeranong I used to go to All Creatures in Calwell, they were great and very handy, and were open 7 days from 7am to midnight. Just too far to go now, but highly recommend them also. Cheers Manz -
Nutrience Or Eagle Pack?
staffordgal replied to poodleopolus's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Does anyone know of any places in Canberra that sell Eagle Pack? Haven't been able to find it so far. Cheers Manz -
Have been buying Purina Bonnie Adult Complete for the last 3 years and my staffy just loves it. He's one healthy happy boy! Manz

Gday all. Just keen to hear your thoughts on dog shampoos in general. Is it a case of 'you get what you pay for'? Are the cheaper brands just as good? Also, have heard of people using Wool Wash on their dogs, is this common? Cheers Manz

I feed my SBT Purina Bonnie Complete, and since starting with it about 12 months ago, he has actually lost weight, and that's without reducing the amount he eats. Seems it is made with lean roo meat and less fat and crap, and he loves it! He looks better for it too. IMHO, great dry food at a great price ($34 for 20kg). Cheers Mandy
