My maiden bitch recently gave birth to two pups. I noticed that they were just using the back two nipples and by day three the nipples were looking red and were rather warm to the touch although they weren't hard. I cut the pups nails and also applied a cool flannel to them during the day but I noticed she didn't appear to be worried by pups sucking on them. I would have been concerned if she didn't allow the pups on them. On a visit to the vet a day later I asked about them but after examination he said that they were fine. Must admit I was worried as they were only using the back two but obviously when the milk supply in them wasn't enough they moved forward to the next two although the back two still seemed to be first choice. As I rarely heard the pups crying obviously they were being satisfied.

Thanks for the information - much appreciated. As I don't get the NSW gazette nor have I attended this show before I wasn't sure of what accommodation was available. Friend and I have entered but could bring another one if entries are still open.

I have a dog that has come from up north with a very sun bleached coat - while golden highlights may look good on the human head definitely not a good look on him. I am using colour enhancing shampoo from Groomers Australia to try to get the colour of the top of the coat closer to his natural colour rather than resorting to cutting it off. Maybe an option for you to use in conjunction with diet.

We purchased a show puppy from Queensland for my eldest child and she came registered with QLD papers in his name. She was shown in VIc and NSW with no problems as the handler was a registered junior member of Dogs Vic. Before we lodged application for title we transferred her to Victorian registration as otherwise I understand we would have had to apply for the certificate from Dogs QLD. Just seemed to make it easier (and more expedient) having both parties registered with the one state body.

In very hot conditions at Cobram today the Standard Poodle (same one that was RUBIG at Euroa - I don't have a catalogue) was today again RUBIG . BIG 7 today was the Frenchie from Junior class.

Years ago I had a program that I found easy to use and fitted my requirements. Even though I still have the program it is well out of date and will not run on windows 7. The person who produced the software is looking at upgrading it but that could be between 12-18 months in future. In the mean time I am looking at getting a program that basically is user friendly that I can upload pedigrees (the more generations the better)to with/without photos. I am sure all come with other features (bonus) but the main area I am concerned with is pedigree linking. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Ground will probably be wet and soft but shouldn't be too waterlogged. Its clear today, no rain so far and there are small patches of blue sky with the sun trying to make an appearance. Seymour agi dog show is held at Kings Park but Seymour Dog Club haven't used this venue for quite a while. 11:10am sun now is out - not sure how long for but it good to see it shining.

I was at the Poodle National yesterday and saw some enclosed boots around $28.00 at the Liberty Dog stand. They are in Victoria and you will find them online at Liberty dog grooming. The boots come in small, medium and large sizes.
