  1. Oh that is a shame that Jake is less playful on meds. It is such an important thing IMHO. Besides it actually being fun. Helps them to expel energy in such a healthy way. His sep. anxiety increases again then. Poor fella That doesn't happen with Stella. Her playfulness doesn't alter if I up the meds. She is exactly the same in that respect. She still runs around with her favorite old milk bottle throwing it in the air & growling with delight. Or she will start a game with Sonny or myself. But the bonus of increased meds are less intense reactivity & she is able to get some sleep.
  2. I have found that DAP spray gave Stella some relief from her night horrors as well Hankdog. I just sprayed her bedding about half hour before she retired & she did sleep more soundly I found. May give Jake some relief as well. Just a thought.
  3. Yes steph m, I love the party they are all having. How clever is this Grey. He is amazing. He lets his friends out to join in including his little girl friend. Love watching them all run a muck LOL.
  4. Jesus... I so wished I hadn't opened the link. I feel like throwing up right now. That poor pup should be PTS right now IMHO.
  5. I need hope as well. So don't you guys go anywhere :) Sorry to hear you have been unwell Snook. Do hope you re feeling better very soon. Justice has come a long way. You should be very proud. Hankdog. it is good news all Jakes tests come back clear It's funny though cause sometimes I used to think maybe if they did find something wrong it would be better because then you are able to think. So that's why he or she behaves this way. You'd have a reason why...Answers. I too have tried to cut down Stella's meds but boy o boy I noticed a huge down turn in her behavior & reactivity. Suffice to say her dose was upped again smartly.
  6. How very sad Mrs Rusty Bucket Tragic really. That poor dog has gone from being in peak condition to zero, just like that. Poor dog must feel like shite. Similar to it's disgusting living conditions just cause they want to be slobs, sorry they are your friends & I don't mean to offend BUT... Gosh I wish the breeder could find out. Maybe they could do something about this. ERRRR, how hard is it to pick up straight away after your dog. How hard is it to spend a bit of time with them. God knows if they all started to walk a couple of times a day. They could get back in shape & all feel so much better & healthier. Simple. Dogs can bring so much happiness if you just spend time with them. If I had my way that is ALL I would do.
  7. Hankdog, Stella used to have horrendous nightmares quite frequently. She'd whine, bark, whimper, hyperventilate. All 4 legs would shake & quiver. Sometimes she would be running & running while lying down if that makes sense. She'd howl very loudly. To be honest it used to really frighten me the intensity of them. She has always done this right from a puppy. Sometimes she'd jump up & start to run, like she is running from whatever frightened her I usually wake her if I think she is getting too stressed. I don't touch nor engage her. I just cough or talk a bit louder or something random to bring her out of it. However since she has been on medication for Epilepsy I have noticed these nightmares have all but stopped. So I'm unsure whether these were in fact all nightmares or slight seizures.... Sorry to hear Jake is having a rough time with them of late. They are quite distressing to witness at times. He is a very complex boy like my Stel.
  8. Thanks everyone for all your kind birthday well wishes :) Sonny is an amazing & very special boy to me. He is a pleasure to own. The type of boy you never have to call nor tell what to do. He is just seems to know where he should be when I need him & has pretty much always been like that. Very sensible. Having said that he is a very funny, full on goof ball when he wants to be as well. Playing is Sonny favorite thing to do. As soon as he wakes up in the morning it's 'game on'
  9. Just beautiful grumpette :)
  10. Yes IMHO there must be something wrong with Clydes order. I certainly wouldn't touch any dry food if I thought it smelt offensive or weird & I'm dam sure I wouldn't feed it to my dogs. No matter what brand it was.
  11. Thanks everyone. Sonny has been enjoying his b.day. Been on a long bush walk & is devouring a meaty bone atm. Couldn't take him swimming today. Just too cold. We always do fun stuff everyday so I reallly don't think he notices that today is anything out of the ordinary ;)
  12. Thanks Dame aussie. How could I not take him home. He was to die for. Just so darn cute. I just kept saying OMG OMG he is just beautiful. I shed a few tears as well. The breeder must of thought I was a bit of a nutter LOL.
  13. Oh thanks Hazy. Sonny has just been the best boy right from day 1. Such a character though. A big rascal :p I finally figured out how to post pics. Not very computer savvy . I didn't want my boof head in the post but couldn't work out how to change it  I had no sleep the night before picking Sonny up. I was just way too excited to sleep, hence the huge sunnies
  14. Happy 6th Birthday Sonny I knew from the time I first laid eye's on you in the arms of your breeder that you were coming home with me. You were as adorable then as you are now. You are not only beautiful on the outside but you are just as beautiful within. Such a good, honest boy. Never caused me a days trouble. Boy you know how to have fun. We play together all the time. You make me smile with all your antic's. You make me melt with your eye's. The way you look at me boy, you love me as much as I love you. Thank you for being my boy Sonny & such a good big brother to Stella. I adore you fella. Have a great birthday. We always have a such a wonderful time together. Here's to many more darling boy When we picked you up at 9 weeks. My gorgeous little panda. At almost 5, Simply Stunning...
  15. Glad he is now an X Sash hearing stories like this make my blood boil as well. Border Collies are very devoted 'people dogs'. They just want to be with you. WHY???? do people get the most intelligent dog there is & dump it in there back yard, thinking it's OK ??? Then go ahead & starve the poor pup of the very things they crave most, mental stimulation & to feel part of the family. It is just insanely cruel. Then they subject the poor pup to some harsh version of reform school. Nothing is more unnecessary with a BC than 'harsh handling' they are very sensible & sensitive as a rule. A simple 'no' will suffice. The poor puppy is the one that always suffers most & he didn't ask to be in the situation in the first place
  16. I have seen this clip before but had to watch it again. How clever is this Grey & the ultimate party boy Hope HazyWal see's this but she better not show Stan. He doesn't need any fresh ideas at being the life of he party. He does that extremely well already
  17. Looks like a very interesting read actually...
  18. You are really something special handsome Hank... Happy 1st Birthday sweet boy . Bet mum is spoiling you rotten today ;)
  19. Oh sorry BAW. I have jumped the gun ;) Those beds look excellent value for money.
  20. That looks like loads of fun. Would love to try that with Sonny. He is very scent driven. Looks like a great facility as well. Would love to try their reactive dog course as well, looks very interesting.
  21. Clyde I can't help but think there might be something wrong with that bag of food you received either. Maybe send it back, I don't know. Honestly ours has no smell really at all. Sounds strange to me.
  22. Oh my, Benny is to die for What a grand old fella. Looks like he has been with you forever Brandiandwe. Great photo's of him snuggled up in his new toasty warm coat & a brand new bed as well. Just as he should be Huge thanks to all that made this possible for him & to you Brandiandwe for taking him on :D
