Thanks Snook. Stella seems to be coming into her own now. It's wonderful to witness. She is not the type of girl you can push. She needs to absorb her surroundings. Once she is comfortable she excels way beyond my wildest expectations :) -
Ha ha ha englsh ivy .... love it!!!!

Oh Huga your boys are to die for. I know I have said it before but it's so true. Just gorgeous I think I might just have to steal their eyelashes though  delightful.... And peek-a-boo to Sid :p

Thanks Ruth R will keep that in the memory bank if she gets this again in the future. Stella is going very well now though. I have just started to introduce her back to her normal diet very slowly of course. Whiskered, I did ask the Vet about that giardia & she said it would be highly unlikely that Stella is effected.

Stella is on a bit of a roll lately. She was quite ill for a few days so off to the Vets on Wednesday with her on my own. Usually this is a 2 person job & it is a mission from the time you get through the front door till you close it behind you on your way out. A nightmare doesn't even remotely cover it. You also had to watch she didn't jump through the closed windows as she has tried in the past as well Well she didn't put a foot wrong this time. I didn't have to carry her, she walked in herself. We had a lovely young english female Vet who Stella seemed to take to straight away. While she was being examined she stood like a statue & only had to be muzzled (as she has bitten the Vet before) as a precaution while getting her temp. taken. She didn't move a muscle. I couldn't believe it. While she wasn't over the moon about it, she tolerated the appointment perfectly I'm so proud of my girl. It took a lot of courage as she was very frightened but she is learning how to cope with those feeling so much better. The fear isn't overwhelming her like it used to. Bravo Stella girl. I'm beaming with pride darling sweetheart girl -
Introduction To Scent Sports
BC Crazy replied to Scottsmum's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi DeltaCharlie, I don't know why but I thought you lived in Queanbeyan but I'm so glad I was wrong & you live near me  I'm at Corlette so your not very far away at all. I'm not experienced like you though Delta but everyone has to start some where I guess. -
Dear little Poppy may just need a bit more time to get used to your husband. She may never have had much socialization around men. I don't know. Don't force her to go near your hubby. And if hubby carries around some high end treats so if she does approach him she gets a yummy little treat plus a pat. She has got to go to him though of her own accord :) Glad to hear otherwise she is settling well

Should I Bother Asking The Vet About This?
BC Crazy replied to raineth's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
So pleased the Vet gave you the OK for tablet daily. It is all about keeping Digby as comfy as possible. Give him a cuddle from us Raineth -

BC Crazy replied to westiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Happy Re Birthday darling Mac. You are such a sweet ol'fella. Almost 15 & going strong. Well done to you & mum for taking such good care of you. Love your new blanket. Blue is definitely your colour darling boy :) -
I will keep you posted if Stella's coprophagia improves or stops. I hope so. I usually clean up very quickly after them so she doesn't get the chance nor will I know if she is still does it.
-
No Whiskered they said they'd do one if she didn't improve dramatically in 24 hours which she has. How comman is this? Might ask them to do a test.

No worries at all Boronia :) Quick update, my girl is 100% better this morning. She slept right through the night & after toileting this morning, stool was perfect Never thought I'd be so happy to see a perfect poo on the lawn  Stella seems very happy in herself so we are on the mend be the looks. Poor girl is starving but a coupe more days on steamed chic & rice I think before I slowly reintroduce her back to 'real' food again. Such a load off my mind though. I was thinking about what could have caused this illness. We walk in the bush behind our place during the winter months & whilst she is pretty good & doesn't pick up much off the ground, she is watched like a hawk though, she does seem to like to eat this reedy looking grass a lot. Wonder if this is making her ill???? She did get a bit of a funny tummy last year from memory. Might discourage this from now on. Also might carry my own water in there as well. She loves to drink from the natural water ways but they may have bacteria in them, who knows.

Vinnie No Longer Lives With Me
BC Crazy replied to apocalypsepwnie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Of that is very sad. I do feel so sorry for you. I hate to hear of break ups. There are never any 'winners' in such situations. Everybody hurts, including the poor pup -
Darcy&Zoe glad to hear the chic wings were a hit. She is just adorable by the way :)
-
Gosh !!! I have never seen a Pugs teeth. They are so tiny. It's a wonder they can chew through anything. Amazing. Thanks for sharing :)
-
Yes VM thats right. I have to give the Carafate at least half to 1 hour before she has her meal & antibiotic :)
-
Thanks cavnott :) VizslaM your too sweet. Thanks so much :)
-
That med is called Carafate. Maybe you have heard of it? I just googled it & it used to protect the stomach from inflamation apparently.
-
Boronia, from what I understood this med that I have to mix with water & syringe into her mouth half hour before her meal was a strong probiotic. then I give her the antibiotic with her meal. I'll go check what it is called & let you know. I think that is what the Vet said. I too may have it wrong??? I was trying to take it all in quickly LOL. Thanks everyone for your kindness & support. Very thoughtful of you all. greatly appreciated VizslaM, yes it was so much easier for me with her today & to be able to take her on my own was a real sense of achievement for us. Felt wonderful actually. I was beaming with pride on the inside & very proud of Stella. She has come such a very long way as far as her confidence is concerned. I just adore her :)

Thanks Tassie for your support from one very happy BC mum :p :D

Same.... Poor little dog what is going through these idiots heads. Not much obviously apart from $$$$$$
-
For any interest folks. Just got back from vet visit with Stella this morning. Vet put her on Antibiotic's for a fortnight & a soluble tablet that I have to syringe into her mouth half hour before meals to help settle her tummy. Plus a strong probiotic. If no improve within 48 hours, more tests to be done. Stella was given a clean bill of health other wise. Which was great. So hopefully her tummy will start to settle now I was thrilled with her behavior though. She didn't put a foot wrong, even when she was being examined by the Vet. She even walked in. Amazing !!!! Considering usually it is a 2 person job & you'd have to carry her. Also it's kaos from the time you get her through the front door, till you leave. Last time I took her on my own she tried to jump through a closed window in the waiting room. So huge improvements there

Murphy The Lost Goldie Home Safe And Well
BC Crazy replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Terrific, heartwarming story What a trooper Murphy is. Such a long time to be missing out in the wilderness. So pleased for both the family & beautiful Murphy :) -
Weight bearing bones are not suitable for dogs as they can splinter & become choking hazzards.
