Interesting insight Amax-1. I am having a lot of success with LAT but I too get quite stressed at times when Stella is having a anxious moment. She can catch me off guard & I panic instead of keeping my head clear to handle the situation. I am working very hard to control my behaviour now & breath. I also have learnt to sharpen up my incoming dog 'radar'. Although Stella has improved tonnes she still will charge up to some other dogs & make the stay away from me if given the opportunity. It's so frustrating because she is so obedient in every other aspect. I use a slip collar on her as I don't think I'm experienced enough to use an E or other. I have seen trainers & a really good Vet Behaviorist which helped me understand my girl a whole lot better. They taught me some new methods LAT being one of them. My girl has other issues as well though so we are managing well all things considered. Totally agree with others though & firmly believe that the OP should get professional, breed savvy help with this puppy NOW before this behaviour escalates.

What a great dog/story perse. Bet those 2 guys got the bloody shock of their lives stumbling across one very cranky GSD :laugh: My father had a little foxie as a child who was the exact same way. He'd let strangers in the front gate, even looked friendly etc but when they went to leave he'd bail them up against the pailing fence & he wouldn't let the move till dad called him off them. He was such a fierce territorial little fella was Pete :)

I love Border Collies to bits but I couldn't see myself ever owning a short coated one, not that I dislike them but I just love big coats. I love grooming anyway as mad as that sounds :laugh:

Amax, I think even my BC bitch would have turned on this dog napping coward had he tried to enter our backyard without me being there. Did surprise me Beaus reaction or lack there of. I just presummed that he'd bribed him somehow. Wrapped dear Beau is home... :)

Both of my guys chase flies if they are around them but it isnt an obsessive behaviour. We do have a lot of March flies & they have both been on the recieving end of their fierce sting so to them every fly is out to get them. Chasing flies can become an obsessive behaviour so I would be putting a repellent on him like Troys Repel-X which I use over the summer months. Excellent product .I also would reward him when he doesn't display this type of behaviour. Hope this helps :)

Oh poor little fella. Such a sweet faced cutie RIP Dash... So very sad for all concerned. Snake & ticks are my worst nightmare. They are a constant worry.

Had a quick look at their website trinabean. Like the look of tje sensitive skin variety for my guys as they both have different issues but aren't able to have wheat,soy,corn or grain. Please keep us posted as to how your boy goes on this product. Will follow with interest :)

I have just started using a Dremel on my guys. They are great & I can do a far smoother & closer to the quik job. Dogs don't seem to mind it at all either. Would love a cordless one but OH has the corded version so I cant really justify buying another one. Highly recommend them though :)

So very pleased he is home. Wonderful news !!!!! 14kg is a lot if weight to drop. Maybe he was just always on the move looking for his home & food. That creep must have just let him go or he ran away from him. Whatever the reason the outcome is fantastic for this gorgeous boy & his obviously devoted owner. Hope they can catch the B before he reoffends.
