  1. Gosh that sounds amazing. I am going to get some turmeric & make this recipe up. See how we go. I'm going to start taking it as well. I am riddled with Osteo arthritis too. Do you buy the Turmeric from a health food store?
  2. Had to edit my post as I was suggesting a limited slip collar but if they are prone to larynx probs I would maybe looking at a light harness. You may need a Webmaster one as they practically escape proof.
  3. It is really surprising how hot the ground actually gets. I have put my hand on the path surface on a warm day & the heat it throws off is amazing really.
  4. Gorgeous sunset Teekay ☺
  5. Thanks for the link Lisa. I will ring the Vet tomorrow to find out if I should start them now as we are going away for a month next month. See what she recommends. Had to edit. Hopeless speller lol
  6. Sorry kirty I just had to edit my original post as I do give him 1/4 Tramadol twice a day. I think I will organise a Cartprophen shot. How long do they last. A month?
  7. Thanks guys. It is very upsetting to see him in pain. He is such a fabulous boy. Beautiful temp. I just adore him. I had big plans for him. Agility etc. not to worry. He has/ will always have a fun activity filled life, just have to monitor his activities so he doesn't over do it. Lisa, the Kiwi Peak has green lipped mussels in it. That is one reason I swapped over. It has really beneficial ingredients in it. Neither of my guys will eat offal & KiwiPeak has 10% offal in it which is really important for my girl who is Epilepsy effected. Yes I have a double whammy as both of my dogs have horrid health issues sadly. Black jackel. Sorry to hear you have a young dog that is Arthritis effected as well. It's a horrible thing to happen in a young energetic otherwise healthy dog. Yes it is very hard for them & for us to witness. Thanks for reminding me about the Back on Track coats. I think they may help too. Will put some money away for one. My Vet is an Holistic Vet so she also our acupuncturist & she also does massage. I love her she is terrific. So she has showed me how to lightly massage Sonny's hips. I must ask about those Cartprophen injections as they may be more effective than the tablets. Hope your dog is going ok & not suffering to much.
  8. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone has thoughts/advice. Sonny who is only 6 has early onset Arthritis in his hip joints. At the moment I have him on Carprophen 1/4 tablet once a day. Tramadol 1/4 tablet twice a day. I have upped the Tramadol a little of late to help take the edge off. Plus he has Rose Hip Vital & Natural Animal Solutions Omega 3,6,9 plus vit. E. He has an excellent diet. 75% raw plus Kiwi Peak venison & fish. Eggs, raw fish, yoghurt & fruit etc. The last few days he is showing signs of significantly more compromised movement in his hind area & is reluctant to move at times. He will 'bunny hop' his back legs when he has to do stairs. I can just tell he is in more pain lately, poor boy I am reluctant to up the meds much more than I have at the moment being still a relatively young dog I'm worried if I keep increasing his meds now by the time he is in his senior years I will have run out of options for pain relief for him. I have just brought him some Liquid Health K9 Level 5000 Glucosamine today & am going to trail him on that to see if he shows any signs of improvement after a month or so. Questions being, is there anything else I can do for him ? I hate seeing him in pain. I give him a massage morning & night which he loves. He is due for another Accupuncture session so I am going to book him in for that. He is also reluctant to sit on command at times & stand on 3 legs when I do his nails so I know it is really bothering him. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA :)
  9. Delta Charlie, thank you so much for the heads up regarding this product & thinking of us. I had no idea it was unsafe to use on girls like Stella. I was just thinking the once a month & water safety advantages. Will stick to the Advantix then. Apprectiate that :)
  10. So very sad & extremely difficult to let go of something you unconditionly love & cherish but it is also a very selfless thing to do so. Beautiful tribute to an obviously much loved family member & best friend... made me cry. Rocky was a very fortunate boy to have had such a loving family. He is pain free now in a peaceful place. Rocky will never "be gone" though as he will always have a special place in your heart & all those fond memories of him Be kind to yourself through this difficult time. Gentle hugs to you
  11. So sorry to hear that miss Saffy lost her foal Saffy & Tiny are just so adorable  They certainly are good doer's, little fatties alright  The littley's always have lots of attitude don't they?
  12. Oh looks very beautiful. Thats the same box as Redman has only I picked cedar timber. Redman was a serverely abused gorgeous boy that I rescued from under a house where he was kept 24/7. I too was also coming from a very dark place. Some things really do happen for a reason. His inscription says "Out of the darkness into the sunshine" Together Redman we helped each heal other heal to create a life filled with love, contentment & happiness. Never far from my thoughts Red. Always in my heart. R.I.P. my sweet, sweet boy....
  13. I love this thread too. How could you not love it??? Gorgeous dog & such dedicated owners. Gotta love that.. ..☺
  14. Beautiful shots as always. Ronin is having a blast. Great healthy exercise too.
  15. Don't worry Sal the text will come to you. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to put on my heart boy's plague that was to be fixed to the front of his beautiful hand made cedar box I had his ashes put in. I was in tears, again, about it. Then next thing it just came to me when they actually rang & wanted to know. I just said exactly how I felt & it was perfect. Even almost 9 years later I still wouldn't change a word of it
  16. Oh my dog !!! What absolute little stunners...just beautiful Bjeliker. Totally adorable. I would be cuddling those little treasures all day long. Thanks for sharing :)
  17. My dogs have had their Ezydog ones for years now. While they do the job & are very well made I too prefer the look of the Ruffwear ones.
  18. So pleased he has been found. Hope he heals asap... ☺
  19. Yes Yonjuro had better get that baseball bat out of the cupboard in preperation for your gorgeous daughters dating years LOL Such a pretty girl.
  20. I got Stella the pink camo one. She does look ever so cute in it.
  21. I think we got ours from Waggle.com.au. I brought their Ruffwear boots from waggle as well. They are great to deal with.
  22. Both my guys have one of these life jackets. They are quite bulky on but I think you could go down a size for cute Odie HD. The pic looking over the top of Odie it looks ok. But the front on pic it does look a bit big. It's also very long & is the same length as her top line. Ours aren't. They are a bit shorter.
