  1. poor little fella Little gifts I'm hearing you....
  2. Yes agree with everybody else's posts. 90% play 10% train. 5 mins max per session. Any more than this & you can sour them. They only have a very short attention span. Building a strong bond with your puppy is just as important IMHO. I spend a lot of time with my dogs. Just hanging out. Building solid rapport. Gorgeous puppy you have by the way.
  3. Gorgeous fella is Smoke ????
  4. I don't need watch it as my dad grew up in a racing greyhound family. I have heard all about how they are trained & how live bait is used. Rabbits, possums minus their nails etc etc. Do I agree with it,NO... but it is like any other form of racing when money comes into it. Nothing is sacred...
  5. Dog mad, I would have done this for you as I live in the area but am up the coast caravaning at the moment. Sorry.
  6. Glorious perse... just naturally beautiful.
  7. Teekay I really hope K9 pops in & sees how your Mya has matured in her loving home you have so kindly given her. She doesn't venture onto here much these days unfortunately. I always followed her threads & really miss her amazing work she does. I will never forget Cookie the cat she rescued after someone had shot her ???? K9 has a heart of gold....
  8. Oh Tay. Your Jess is such a classic. That shot with the "other" BC. Jess was like "You have to be joking. Don't even think about it mum". LOL. So much expression in her face. Great photo's once again. Your so clever ☺ I so admire your talent. Not in a creepy way or anything ???? And yes everyone is getting a new little puppy but me ???? so puppy clucky right now. I just love love love BC puppies. I have been promising myself one of those "low maintenance" varities for ages. Might just buy one.
  9. Awesome canetoad.... stunning.
  10. Giggle Hankdog. Please video Jakey boy, what a character. Left eyebrow angle, heard everything now ha ha. My guys have pretty much made a game of the 'U' turn thing like they do everything I teach them. When we do it they both jump around & bark with excitement. Unlike dear Jake you sure as hell know when my 2 are in excitement mode & so does everyone in a 3 k radius ;)
  11. I have 2 of the fastest "U" turner's in the business. Even off leash I just spin around & both my guys turn & run with me on cue in the opposite direction. Saved many an issue ☺
  12. Oh shite BL. Totally understand where you are coming from. Breathe!!!!! I have been exactly where you are more times than I care to remember with Stella. Great idea to get some professional help. Just a quick thought. If you are approaching a situation that you think may bring Bonnie undone. Do a U turn & walk swiftly in the opposite direction. This works for us. It may take you longer to get where ever you are going but it will save your arm from getting ripped out of it's socket & Bonnie unravling.
  13. Yes Hankdog wouldn't out it past our 2 . Gosh what a freaky thing to happen. Lucky poor Jake wasn't injured & you were able to make great use of the handle on your harness. He would be no light weight to maneuver either I would imagine. Like doing a weights workout at the gym :p Grumpette that's the key thing that I can never figure out with Stella as well. Her randomness. We can walk past dog after dog without incident but then wham!!! she will react & have a dummy spit over one in particular... go figure!
  14. So pleased Hankdog that you are liking your Ruffwear harness. Glad it has given you a confidence boost as well. I love ours as well. I only use ours in winter when we bush walk but I too feel very safe that Stella can't hodini out of it. The handle on the top is very handy when we are scurrying over rocks etc Stella is rocketing along at the moment. I have stepped up my leadership skills & am trying to appear a lot more confident around Stella than I truly am. I'm not fussing as much. I am not taking ANY nonsense at all. Stepped up my assertiveness. I am staying much more calm & I think it is really paying off. She is behaving so much better, even on lead. Quietly I'm wrapped ☺ I come home & collaspe but shhhh she doesn't need know ????
  15. All paws crossed dear Rocky can find a suitable loving, forever home. He really deserves one...
  16. Same here... given my girl is DA. My worst night mare revisited. In peak times I have heard it happens quite often in some kennels. Over crowded kennels !!! Such a dangerous practice really
  17. First portrait of little Mr. Smoke. He is ever so cute Perse. Sounds like " the boss" thinks so as well...
  18. Teekay I didn't realize your gorgeous Mya was rescued by K9 Angel who is such a wonderful woman who does phenomenonal work. Mya is just so pretty. Beautiful photos :)
  19. Better Late, totally get the ripped up hands. It so hurts... Stella has ripped up mine so many times & my hands have been so blistered by her reactivity on leash when she was younger I could barely hold the leash at all. I wore gloves in the winter time to try & save them. Thankfully she has improved a lot since she was a youngster. She is going along very well at the moment. She will always be a work in progress though. Your doing really well with Bonnie BL & the incident the other day hasn't set her back which is great. Also really good that you have pin pointed Bonnies triggers. One of them being Hi-Vis clothing/delivery folks. 'On your mat' once proofed should work well when someone is at the door.
  20. That sounds terrifying! It's amazing how this little white pill can transform them. Yes it is very frightening MTE. I always try & move Stella to a safe place so she doesn't hurt herself but this is very tricky as she is thrashing about & she could bite you accidently. I have learnt to read her body language & I can tell when she isn't well & maybe about to have a seizure. She knows it too. She becomes more clingy to me than usual for one & you can see fear in her eye's . So I just stay with her. Poor baby girl. Must be so scary for them. Wonderful how effective Phenomav is.
  21. My girl has been on Phenomav since March last year & 'touch wood' hasn't had a seizure since. She was having 3 to 4 major seizures a week & at least 6 less severe. Sometimes she would have 2 a day. The major ones were the ones that were so upsetting to me. The longest 5 mins of my life. She would lose total control over her bowels, vomit etc & would thrash around very dangerously on her stomach. I was always frightened she would hurt herself as a couple of times she threw herself at our glass back door
  22. Dame Aussie... Lili sounds like Stella. They are such characters aren't they.
