Hitting The Ring For The First Time
parrotpea replied to angelsophie's topic in General Dog Discussion
We had our first showring experience last weekend at the SBT club Vic champ show. Ruby was beautiful on the saturday, but on the sunday was really over it and not stacking or walking nicely. We didn't win anything but we had a good time and I was very pleased that it wasn't as scary as I thought it might be -
Thank you

Anyone know what pet-friendly accommodation there is in Seymour? anyone doing the shows on 14th and 15th of May?

Thanks so much! Just what I needed

I can't find or didn't get my Feb copy of the dogs vic gazette/mag and I wondered if anyone could lay their hands on one and have a quick look to see how much the entry and catalogue fees are for the Greensborough and District show and the Easter festival shows. Just thought if I could avoid having to hassle the secretaries... Thanks!

Love my Dyson here too. I couldn't go back to anything else now.

We won't be able to make it this month as we are staying down near Skye for the weekend for the specialty on Sat and Sun. Wish us luck - it will be Ruby's(and my) first show!
-
Maybe the schedules just aren't that gazette, they are either in previous months or issues not yet out. Unless Vic is different to every other state, the schedules for 99% of the shows will be in the gazette at some point. Ah ha - I just worked out that the single line gazette listings have the month of the proper ad listed beside them - now it makes sense I just don't seem to have the February gazette - only January and March - I didn't get the February one. I emailed my breeder and she said I could download Feb in PDF but I can't work out how to log into the members area. Trying again now. I will have a talk to breeder this weekend if I haven't got it worked out as we will both be going to the same show. Kirst - no I wont be at Kepala this weekend - the SBT club show is on at KCC. Very excited and hoping not to embarrass myself too much!

Yep I'm a member of DogsVic and I've got the gazette, but for most of the shows only the dates are listed on the official calendar and there are no entry fees listed there. Looking forward to it Sandra

So I have a couple of questions: * Is there a simple way to find out the entry and catalogue fees for shows which are only listed in the gazette? Or do I need to contact the club secretary for that particular show? (Am wondering about the Greensborough show on April 16th, and the easter festival shows on April 23/24 if anyone has entered and knows how much they are..) * Do I just pay the one entry fee, or do I pay an entry fee per class entered (all for the one dog)? * I need some practise in the show ring, but am I insane for thinking about entering multiple classes once my pup gets to 6 months? What is a reasonable number of classes to enter in the one show(bearing in mind my pup will only be just over 6 months, and I will have only done a couple of shows previously)? Thanks - help and advice much appreciated

I don't think I would use the word loyalty, but I do have a lot of respect for my breeder. I discussed with her my preferred brand of dry food, and she approved and explained about the changeover process. I kept pup on the food she had been on for the first two weeks before changing her over. I kept feeding her mince and bones as the breeder had been, and I am also using the supplement that she uses and recommends. I consult her about just about everything.

Yes I did - we will be camping at central city c'park. Will you be taking the two labs to this one? Me too :D We are staying at the same park yes we are taking the two Can anyone tell me if there is a bmx/skate park either near Central city Caravan Park or the showgrounds There is a skate park in Bendigo itself - prob a 5-10 min drive from the c'van park. How old are your kids?

By the next day it had gone right down and now it's gone. I sent a pic of it to her breeder and she thought it was either some kind of bite or just a pimple - so it seems to be all fine

Great pics! I love the Ruby and Ruby one. And the ones of Ruby and Rowan by the pool. And those lovely face shots that you got of Ruby Keroppiyo. And Alfred is just too cute!

Breed Recommendations For "fenceless" Guard Dog.
parrotpea replied to Merrirose's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, signage and length of time before they are taken up again is legislated. Unfortunaltey when it comes to taking up baits, not everyone always gets them all again, despite the rules. Always a risk that a bait wont be removed as required. Also a possibility that bait can be moved around by birds/wildlife and therefore not collected
