I now understand. Unusual that your allergy dog got cancer, usually the over active immune system prevents cancer - so i have been told -

Tara how far back are you looking?? Would look at parents and grandparents. Hip scores are important but a couple of breeders have said for labs elbows are even more important. You can try your best for perfect scores and health tests but in the end its all still a big risk - my labs parents havd great hip and elbow scores but he ended up with allergies, there is no test that can be done to predict that. -
Wuffles my footwork always throws my dogs turns, i get it right in training but in the ring i feel nervous and then it all goes out the window. RS i only tend to get real enthusiasm out of mason during retrieving training, he is like a different dog and i am actually wondering if its worth pursuing the obedience, i enjoy it and want to do it but he is less keen- i am less keen on retrieving but that is what he loves and was bred for. Tough decision. I will do novice and see how it goes though.

First mistake is using puppy pads imo, they then feel its ok to toilet inside and dont understand why they then cant pee on your carpets or mats.

Is It Ok To Give A Young Dog A Deer Antler?

I am going to give the pup a go and see what i feel. My dog just gnaws on it and no broken teeth. I know heaps of dogs who have them and never heard of an issue -

-
Yeah no worries
-
Why dont we try for next weekend the weekend of the 9th and 10th while he is still little?? ETA I will bug RS once he is home and I have nice pics of him doing cute things lol
-
Yeah I think I may have difficulty with novice but I am going to persevere and give it a go
-
How cool :D make sure you get pics - love the new signature too Thanks I really need a more creative one where I can add the rego names and Masons title but i dont really know how to do it I will get some more pics when Gibbs is home maybe this weekend if weather is nice. You must come up and see him CC

I agree Ptolomy I think CCD has its place, I knew that Mason wouldnt run off in the ring but it was like an extra confidence boost knowing that I had him on lead so if anything went wrong ( besides recall) it could not be that bad lol I must say that I am very nervous and hesitant about novice. I entered him in a novice NFC club trial and he would have failed sadly, he had a really off day - that was about 2 months ago.

Gurus, cant be talking about me, still have heaps to learn. I thought you were training with Ann. I train mainly on my own and usually get together with Fetchitup once a week as it nice to have someone toss some dummies for your dog every now and then. Hard trying to fit several things together, I leave the obedience for summer and just stick to retrieving and tracking in winter. Will help if I can. Helps so much to have someone to train with, if Fetchitup had not helped me I would be getting nowhere. Mason will be ready to run next season if i get over my dead bird phobia. The retreivability tests sound up my ally as its just dummies but he would love to do a proper retrieving trial as he just loves it -

Yes I am pretty nervous to venture to show classes I know absolutly nothing so I am going to feel pretty stupid as is!! :D Zora and ST's JT and Lulu sometimes go to Wolfproud classes on Thursdays. The lady there is really understanding with newbies and if you let me know when you are planning to go and I am not rostered on I will come too. I will let u know if I decide to do it, obviously have to do his vacs first etc
