The 1 puppy ( a bigger 1 maybe 16 weeks old ..) had its fur up the whole time during free play at the photo shoot yesterday so maybe it is a lab thing

Thanks Poodlefan i did not think aggression ( he is the one who is always picked on by other dogs) but i did think that maybe he did it when annoyed??

I got a new puppy this weekend and for the most part my big dog will ignore him. Sometimes though he does play with the puppy, usually he caries a toy around and the puppy follows and Mason likes him to chase him around ( he plays this way with all dogs). SOmetimes when they are playing nicely I will notice the fur on the big dogs neck and base of tail raise just slightly and I was wondering if he is excited ( he looks like he is enjoying the game and he is egging the pup on).Im not entirely sure what to make of it. Sometimes if he meets a new dog and they play he will also do this for the first few minutes

At least Booker is going outside tho, Gibbs comes inside to do toilet im giving treats etc when he goes outside

No RV his brothers r doing the same thing so i dont think thats the case. They just pee heaps

I feel like i am getting nowhere with toilet training this puppy. He has been here 3 days now and i am treating him when he goes outside. Sometimes 10 mins later he will wee again inside. Im really battling with him, as long as i took mason out each hr he was good.

Congrats sounds like a good show!! Im trying to work on Gibbs' show stand..... Gibbs was in a community service announcement ad for Mcdonalds filmed this morning, it will air around 9 October on channel 9 for Guide Dogs. There will be 2 ads. Gibbs and his yellow brother lightening were camera hogs!! :rofl:

He was ok today. Mason is still a bit jelous and sulky but will get over it

A friend of mine wants to book her dog into these kennels while they are on holiday, anybody used them?

Thanks guys, just needed some advice as my older dog was always respectful and waited until told he can eat.

Mine does not love the crate but its the only place I can put him where its safe if I cant be watching him, he climbs out the puppy pen I lent from a friend, picking up a taller one on tuesday. He is quiet easy to train as he will do anything for food :D

Well Gibbs was pretty good, we went to bed at 10pm, he got up at 11.15 and we took him for loo and he then slept til 6am where he made the biggest wee ever He is crazy at meal times, I am going to have to start tying him up maybe and doing the TOT with him as he jumps up at me and howls, screams and goes crazy! I need him to wait for his dinner. Toilet training is going well but if i have my eyes off him for a minute he will wee inside.

Thanks Naomi, I had a look at the TOT in the training thread and I am going to use this methode I think.

I got my new pup this weekend and I want him to wait for a command to eat like my big lab does, however I never taught Mason to do this he has just always waited for me to say OK and then he eats. I have been trying to feed them at the same times - both outside on the alfresco. Gibbs the puppy goes crazy jumping up my leg trying to jump on the table where I am dishing the food etc. I feed Mason first and then I ask Gibbs to sit ( it can take awhile as he is howling, barking and jumping up at me). If he then gets frustrated he then runs and tries to eat the big dogs food. My new plan is to feed Gibbs inside and if he does not stop going crazy to just not put his bowl down until he calms down. Is this the right thing to do??

Yes he is very relaxed and happy slept from 11;30pm until 6am this morning when my big lab needed to go out - not bad!! He did howl and make a fuss in the crate at first. I wanted to do crate training with him before i left him in it overnight but its the safest place for him as he is into everything.

My belly ring closed up in one day, i lost the top of my ring at work and by the time i got home it had closed - that was about 5 years ago now. I have a tattoo and would love another of my old horses face somewhere and 1 day when Mason passes on i will have him tattoo-ed somewhere too

He is fine, a bit jelous maybe and also unsure of him as he is so young. He just needs time to adapt to not being an only dog i think.
