No he only does it to some pups and never to an older dog. My older dog is a very soft submissive dog but he is the boss of the puppy - for now.
-
My pup started pup school last week and he has met a few friends vaccinated dogs. When other puppies take the play too far or get in his face for too long he makes a warning noise, not a growl but almost like a sharp bark - snarl. Now i have only ever had a very aggressive dog and then my other lab and he will let anyone do anything to him and never tell other dogs off. So i guess what i want to know is it normal for a pup to tell other pups off??

RS i was watching most of it last night and having a chuckle, she looked extremely happy and at the end of thd day a happy dog in the ring is what i want Amypie i have used Ziggy for Mason as a pup when he had folloculitis and blocked tear ducts from it, she is very reasonably priced, think it was $80 first consult and $35 for follow ups and she is so professional!

There are 4 sundays of retrieving training in april i think it is - and then training days here and there throughout the year. Its a sport where you train mostly on your own or with people near to you. Your dog has to be a registered gundog to compete in trials at this stage

Chicko there is obedience, tracking, retrieving, dancing with dogs... Have i forgotten any??
-
Great night tonight!! Mason passed his the first novice trial we entered even though i had not done much training lately with him so i am that pleased!!! Well done to Ptolomy, Bedazzled, Rubystar and Mirawee, great work from all your dogs

Dry Food For Golden Retriever Puppy
Mason_Gibbs replied to jamesn184's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I like Canidae, my older dog gets stomach upsets on Kibble but he is fine on Canidae...the pup is eating Royal Canin junior but i will probably feed Canidae when he is older. Mine get raw meat and bones as well!!! -

Hang in there Mindy -
Well done again guys it was a night i will always remember. I know what you mean Katie, i am so proud of Mason ( first dog i have trained) half the time i have no idea what im doing and its a matter of try this and see if it works 13 years ago when i got my ridgebacks i knew that i wanted to compete in dog sports but unfortunatly it did not happen, with Mason it has and just the fact that i got him in the ring was a huge achievement for me....
-
Everyone did so so well.... And my poor Mas who has been neglected lately due to puppy toilet training got his first novice pass tonight, i am well pleased with him!!!

My Dog Won't Even Do A Simple "drop"
Mason_Gibbs replied to Lindainfa's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
My new puppy was reluctant to drop but i persevered and rewarded each step and now at 11 weeks he will drop with a food lure. Dont give up - take both dogs to training or if you really only want to take one, take the 1 who wont drop as she needs it most!! -
