  1. Xmas sneak peak - taken today as Gibbs is outgrowing the suit...
  2. Agree 100% MM i have the two polar opposites living in this house both are lovely boys gentle souls but 1 is very calm ( he was even a calmish puppy) and then there is the serial chewer etc, even as a pup mason wasnt bad. They are all very different!!
  3. Lovemyrotti i would go to class, get your pup out and working for 5 minutes, then tie him to a stake or put him in a crate, let him rest for awhile and train some more. Keeping him away from other dogs IMO wont help my dog was the same he was crazy excited to see other digs ( still can be but he calms down within 10 minutes of arriving at club now).
  4. ST i could never take Gibbs in the ring with no food lol
  5. I took my dog from 12 weeks to 18 months to formal obedience class as i wanted to compete in trials and had no idea how to teach some stuff. I dont take him to class any longer as he just gets bored, he was very distracted up until about 14 months old. My new pup i will take to class now and then as iv forgotten how to teach stuff but will then train trial stuff on my own i guess like i do now.... ETA reward your dog ant time he looks at you and offers focus, did it with my older boy and i have a stare bear now...
  6. Can non DOL people still come to the dinner if they are doggy?? Horty you met our friends today with Phoebe and Toby
  7. I use a chlorexifine spray which is the same as the listerine then. I spray daily to Stop them forming as my dog has serious skin issues. I found the Curash didnt work for us tho
  8. At the end of the day it all comes down to the individual dog. All have different personalities. I have a friend with an almost 3 year old lab and she is more work than my puppy, and no she is not from working lines either
  9. I usually shove treats in my tracky pants for trials etc but my smart pants gave false pockets
  10. Im there on the 30th watching Gibbs' brother and sister show. If i get my butt in the ring im just thinking of wearing black pants, and a nice top.
  11. I dont see how you can have hotspots with no infection?? There will be some infection in every hotspot. I use a spray daily to prevent them by Duoxo, i only do the neck and back area which is where my dog gets them. When they are present i still spray but also use chlorohex to wash the weeping stuff away and then use Advantan or Bactroban which both require prescriptions
  12. None if that stuff works on serious hotspots jmo though
  13. Tara im sure with enough training you will be able to walk your dog on a flat collar its all thats allowed at most obedience clubs now besides halti's.
  14. What lines would they be? They source from several local breeders here. I know for a fact that they like to have Snows puppies - in fact it was your breeder who told me this... His pups have lovely temperaments and are easy to train apparently. I know not every pup will be the same but the lines do produce certain traits. Masons mother is another they like pups from, his sister and brother are not the first of her pups to go as Guide Dogs. Im not saying dogs from those litters will be angels but they should be easily trained and want to work. After all if there was nothing to it they wouldnt want specific lines or pups from specific matings.
  15. For those of you that show what sort if treat bag do you use in the ring?
  16. My also does they grey poops when something bothering his gut
  17. In WA they only use dogs with certain lines.
  18. Ruby's breeder supplies for Guide Dogs too btw. Ruby was a ratbag of a puppy But was that litter in specific for Guide Dogs?
  19. How could I not pick this one ??? Mason was keen to bring me little toys, sticks and leaves, great retriever and thats why I picked him and loved him from then..
  20. My friend uses a Rogz one on her chi pup so sure it will fit your pup too
