  1. Big hugs CC my Mowgli cat has arthritic in front legs.
  2. They cant say for sure but they dont really think its injury. Just hope he is more comfy after surgery. Surgeon seems good and he feels his qualify of life will be good
  3. Changes in his elbow joint, needs shards removed. They dont have anyone there overnight at Rivergum and Gibbs has to stay one night dont know if im happy with that
  4. He will be more comfy after surgery but he will never be able to run or hours like Mason but he should have a good quality of life.
  5. Off to the ortho at Rivergum today :) Ptolemy when does your new addition arrive??
  6. I am not sure I think if they are using host stem cells there is quite a bit of laboratory work to extract stem cells from fat. From what i understood it would be his own fat. Will chat to the surgeon today as we havean appointment
  7. I failed sadly my 7 month old is heeling or pulling like a truck
  8. I worked with both my dogs from day 1, but the first one I had no clue what I was doing and the second one can work like a star but at home he can test me still lol. Where I have gone wrong is my youngest loves my other dog more than he cares about me. He always follows me room to room, tries to be on my lap or right close to me but I suspect he cares for mason more
  9. For me if my 7 month old pup can ever be happy and just run like a normal dog i will be happy. Not sure he will be able to do jumps in open obedience or run in retrieving trials but if he is happy and sound im happy to give those a miss :) he is very drivey tho so its a big loss bur just one of those things
  10. So so interesting as my adult dog has allergies. Immunotherapy has helped immensly but his hair growth cycle has been interrupted so i am quite interested in how it could help him. My vet was explaining the procedure my pup may need and they remove a sectiom of the ulna and inject fat cells into that area im assuming thats stem cell treatment???
  11. Yup it's important for competitive obedience.
  12. I agree 100% with what Polomy has said, you feel mean with the first dog not rewarding if they are not doing it right but with the 2nd one it gets easier. They soon work out that they are doing something wrong and they try offer you something else. But at home I would be working on getting her to sit straight. My 7 month old is having a hard ime getting it right but he has a sore elbow and I think he rolls back to take weight off the leg.
  13. Best ofr luck, know what u r going through as my 7 month old pup probably has to have elbow surgery, seeing ortho specialist tomorrow morning. Hardest thing mentally for me to deal with is the recovery as I will need to keep him separate frm my older dog when they are home alone together
  14. Oh and i am a member of that group already :)
  15. I will need to crate him if we are not home i think. I have an ex pen but he pushes it over he is a big dog. We even nailed it to the wooden febce to try keep him seperate and he ripped the nails out the fence. Unfortunatly he uses his size to get where he wants. Will look at what we can build as i have some wooden panels left here by some friends who moved interstate but i think he will eat through it. Will def get the crate as well though
  16. Im going tp be selling my 36" wire crate it has a plastic tray and i got it off ebay for $60. Used maybe 10 nights in total.
  17. He was crate trained as a pup but hasnt been in one much since he was much younger. I need to invest in a wire crate that he fits into as my soft one im sure he will chew through if left unattended.
  18. In my mind i just dont see how i can keep both dogs happy after the surgery with me being at work, its going to be a massive issue if its for a long period. Its something im going to have to speak to the surgeon about coz if i cant provide the aftercare no point in doing the surgery. And if i cant kerp him still the potential surgery would leave him worse off if he injures himself
  19. I dont trust Gibbs inside at all, if he escapes he will destroy stuff he is quite naughty but i can leave Mason inside. If gibbs is alone he wont bother running around
  20. Gibbs Will try claw his way out of a crate if he is left in one for hours and will try jump a fence to get to Mason. I thought of sending Gibbs to the vet while i am at work to be looked after by the nurses but i cant do that for 2-4 months. 2-3 months is what i have been told i will need to possibly need to keep them seperate depending on what surgery is done. Looks like i may need to quit work to do the aftercare but then i wong be able to keep up financially. I guess i can try crate him and pop home at lunch time and then take him to the toilet but i dont think i can crate him for 4 months?? They are alteady very concerned about his lack of muscle in the shoulder on the side he is sore.
  21. My youngest boy may need surgery at some stage on his elbow, we are seeing a specialist on Monday and will know more then. My problem comes in that I have a second dog and they love playing etc which will mean that for 6-8 weeks they cannot be left alone together. I work 3 days a week and they will be alone for 6 hrs a day, for 2 weeks my hubby will be home when I am not and the 3rd week I'm thinking of taking unpaid leave. I'm just really concerned about how I will keep my 2 separate when I am not here....
