  1. They do go swimming at the beach and at a lake, the lake does have ducks on it but my friends dogs come with each time and none of them have ever had the runs. They also do have a clam shell pool but it's cleaned out regularly, weird thing is older dog will have it for a day but the younger one will get the runs for like 2 weeks.
  2. I really can't as the pieces of bone in his elbow are causing more and more damage
  3. I am feeding him raw at the moment. He was on kibble before. He has been on raw for about 3 months now
  4. Yup he is on Protexin at the moment! But we only started it about 2,5 weeks ago. I am also trying to change him on to the Royal Canin Hypoallergenic to see if it makes a difference but need to wait until stomach is stable. Also he will go 3 or 4 days where I'm feeding him chicken and sweet potato, all seems normal and then he gets the runs again
  5. So today for about the 4th time I am taking my youngest to the vet for diarrhea that keeps recurring, when he gets it my adult dog will also have the squirts for a day or so. Nothing ever shows up in the stool sample tests. I am now over taking him to the vet every 6 weeks, he gets given Flagyl, it stops and repeat whole cycle again. Now I cannot do too many invasive tests at the moment as he is having elbow surgery next week but any thoughts comments? He is 8 months old in 3 days and this started at about 12 weeks.
  6. Unfortunatly i walk two dogs so no hand for an umbrella. I battle to carry what i need as it is.
  7. For the RAT when you are heeling up will you lose points for talking to your dog like in obedience
  8. IMO this topic should have been shut down in the beginning...
  9. Why won't he be able to do jumps? I know he has ED, but I thought in obedience there was only 1-2 jumps. I wouldn't recommend Gibbs do agility but he should be able to handle a 1-2 jumps occaisonally. Especially if he is handling heeling, which in competition form is pretty high impact. Hmm we will see how he goes but I don't know if I want to risk him jumping he is a very solid dog. I don't think heeling is high impact though because it's just a trot really with weight on one front and ine back leg but I'm not all that clued up, jumping is full impact on both front legs and his other elbow at this stage may be affected too will know more after X-rays next week. The other dog I know with ED who had surgery 18 months ago has been cleared to do all obedience work by the same surgeon we are using.
  10. I'm planning on entering but not sure if I'm wasting my time as Mason isn't cooperating at all at the moment....

  12. I use the Elocon but havent tried the others
  13. No idea Erny but I think if we went back to the dark ages many dogs would be allergy free
  14. Thanks will do :) i will try it on my pup and see if it works it never helped my older boy but i suspect he has other issues besides allergies. All blood tests for thyroid, liver etc came back normal though...
  15. Would the tea not stain a very light dog?
  16. My dog has food allergies and atopic dermatitis ( dusts, pollens etc) he is on desensitization therapy, been on it for 20 months working very well

  20. Is there a field trial near perth i could go watch to see what the dogs do? Would bd interested to sed what its like compared to retrieving
  21. Congrats!! And Strauss has matured so nicely!! Out of all the trollers I think he is the most handsome I love his deep red colour. Swing him this way if u ever get tired of him :)
  22. That scream is ear defeaning, but I tell ya what, I would trade it for Millie's barking when left in the car, and her barking at me even when I am standing there holding her lead because I am not busy entertaining her I'm surprised she isn't a barker in the obedience and agility rings, and works in complete silence! Has she always been a barker? If she has I haven't noticed, I do know she barks when in the car etc but I didn't realize she did it while u were holding here too. None of mine are really noisey, Masn is the shy silent type and Gibbs only makes funny little sounds when he is frustrated ALTHOUGH if I am working Gibbs Mason will bark his head off if he is tied up. Actually barks at me even ifim not working another dog to voice his protest, ratbag
  23. M_G.....I don't know much about Clumbers but I think they are pretty rare in Australia so you would want to carefully research the lines to get something with working capability. Have a look on ANKC for the regulations surrounding field trials for spaniels. They are quite different to Utility Gundog Trials, reflecting the main features of spaniels: quartering, flushing and retrieving :) I know a breeder who will be breeding her Clumber in the future, trouble is I won't be getting another dog for many years as I have 2 and can't afford 3 nor o I have the time for 3 :) her dog works real well :)
