  1. I took Gibbs out after 7 days after the vac, vet said 10-14 days breeder said 7 I think so I just waited 7. Eta and it was his 12 week shot, so I took him out at 13 weeks
  2. Won't be going down, I finish work too late and have to normally take a half day if II have a trial on a fri night.
  3. I just got back from taking Gibbs to get his stitches removed, they are very happy with his progress as he is not showing any pain response on flexing etc. We saw the other surgeon today as our regular guy was not there today and I only have thursdays and Monday's off to get things done. Both ortho surgeons seem super good, Dr Neil was called in to see Gibbs X-rays and elbow while he was in theatre as he is such a unique case, they only see the ulna growing that much longer very very infrequently, so he was familiar with the case anyway. They think he will be one of their great success stories as most dogs have a much worse limp at this stage. So even though we think he is still limping a lot he actually isn't lol.
  4. Great! My ortho guys that i use are fantastic. My 8 month old has jpint issues and had surgery 2 weeks ago and they have been wonderful.
  5. Im considering letting my 8 month old have Zydax shots ( its the same thing as Cartrophen) after his surgery for a joint issue.
  6. I just emailed the ACES coordinator and they confirmed that Rivergum is the only vet that can do the official ACES test. $75 seems like an ok cost for one dog but your right, if I had 5 it would quickly balloon!! Apparently Martyn King at Rivergum is very good for that test a friend had her 2 dogs done there
  7. Sorry I see a brilliant bunch here in Perth but no idea about Brisbane
  8. If you are in doubt you can see a orthopedic specialist
  9. There were about 11 entries in novice, 7 or 8 ran and 3 in open
  10. Lol they are very draining even when you are well :)
  11. Masons heeling was shocking but it always is so I expected nothing else lol
  12. Yes next one is 22nd April but probably being moved to the 29 April, should also be upper Swan as I think that's where the training was going to be?? I could be totally wrong tho but we should know within the next 2 weeks or so if the date is changed :) ETA it was such a lot of fun I don't think I can go back to competing in obedience and Mason seemed much happier :) would love to get our open title but think I will do it nextyear when Gibbs will hopefully be in CCD
  13. I'm glad I entered and I'm pretty proud of Mason who kept looking for that dummy on the first run which I didn't think he would do :) will do the one in April too
  14. Yeah I'm a little disappointed but also incredibly proud of Mason for persevering to look for the first dummy. I didn't think he would have the confidence to keep at it he is a bit of a mummy's boy.
  15. Rubystar was the only qualifier in novice and Fetchingdawgs in open :) my Mason would have done really well if he had not been distracted and missed the second dummy fall
  16. Know how u feeling my 8 month old had surgery 10 days ago for ED - also trying to keep him quiet its a mission! He had to have surgery due to his ulna growing too long for the radius
  17. We are making headway with hip/elbow scores but you can still get pups from parents with 0/0 scores who have hip or elbow dysplasia, i have sadly learnt this first hand. Sonetimes nature surprises us all
  18. I feed fresh meat from VIP pet meats in Midvale and Vets all natural complete mix
  19. Hey RS, was talking to Jo at tracking today and she is hoping to change Zeba over from Assoicate to associate gundog. I told her to hurry up and do it before the next RATG!! Ari was entered tomorrow although I knew she wouldn't be ready, and now she is in season so has to be scratched anyway! going tomorrow anyway to watch and support everyone :) Yeah he must never be fat but at the same time he will put on weight as he is still filling out. Growth plates are closed but he will still be developing. The last 2 months he has put in a kg every 2 months so that's slow and steady. Will chat to the specialist on Thursday to see how I know if he is just putting on weight from inactivity or growing a bit. If his growth plates are closed he technically shouldn't grow at all am I right?? What about filing out? He is only 8 months old. did the vet say his plates were closed based on his xrays or just a guess? Maybe they have closed, he has always been a pretty fast grower and looks pretty mature for his age. if his plates have closed he will fill out but not get any taller. No based on X-rays. We needed to make sure he had finished growing or else the ulna he cut a section out of could just grow back and we start all over again. It will heal closed obviously but it won't grow longer from the growth plate. Yes he has grown extremely fast :)
  20. That's what I thought Showdog and I was surprised to hear that the growth plates are closed because I remember Mason growing right up until 18 months, he was desexed early though ( Mason) so no idea if that played a large part in him growing taller at that age.

  22. So she is just a few months younger than Mason :) Looked at Gibbs today and I can see he has picked up weight doing absolutely nothing for almost 10 days.....
