  1. Lol - so cute, I am feeling really bad the last few days about Mason being an only dog, he needs someone to wrestle with too!! And I think he is way too spoiled by OH and I because he gets all our attention
  2. My dog gets about 250g meat a day and a roo bone every 2nd or 3rd day, along with some pumpkin or butternut. or sweet potato. My boy has allergies so he can only eat roo, lamb or goat and veg. I would also cut the food back slowly and if you add pumpkin it fills them up but is not too fattening,
  3. I spent $5000 on my dogs allergies last year as he has allergy testing and then the Rush immunotherapy plus all the spot on skin treatments, creams etc. Loads of people asked me why I bothered as its just a dog and why dont i just get rid of him and get another one. I would spend all the money I have ( which is not much but we survive) to make his life more comfortable.
  4. I've been thinking I could do agility at northern suburbs on Wednesdays - Mason2009 we could be agility buddies if you take it up again . I had the test done at Vital Vet Ellenbrook - Dr Barry Odesnik, Masons favorite vet and Barrys most reliable customer :D Yes I have been thinking of going back to agility next year ETA that you would have to just join Northern Suburbs as a member to do the agility. RS I only got you in the one pic - and I think your foot may be in a few but I need to edit them, may do it tonight - need to pick 3 for my assignment
  5. RS some of the photos came out nicely, I still have to edit some of them - when I have done I will put them up. I think it was a bad idea to go see pups - starts putting ideas in my head lol ;)
  6. I just did it at my vet, he really wants to vaccinate my dog but dermatologist told him not to in no uncertain terms. I paid $60 for the test, it was Parvo and Distemper. They say to check the levels annually. Mason only every had puppy vacs and results came back as sufficient cover.
  7. Mason HATED the car at first - I took him in it every day for 3 weeks and he cried every time, after that he seemed to come right though and now he loves the car
  8. Great pics guys, I too have a compact and I took a couple of really nice pics before I got my Canon. Its a Sony Cybershot T2
  9. I always take treats to reward my dog when he comes back if I call him recalls can never be too good IMO
  10. No Valley I missed it - what did they say? Basically that it was rampant at the moment and that it was possibly a new strain from overseas somewhere ...... so make sure dogs are vaccinated. I saw a notice down at Riverside Gradens yesterday as well but I am heading back there this morning .... yes it's around, people just need to be aware. I agree, it is always out there and anouncements come up pactically every year to encourage people to vaccinate, always that its rampant or a new strain. I think vets need to drum up business as people are starting to realise that we over vaccinate out dogs. Perhaps they need to promote Titer testing rather than just push the vacination side of business,, look at how long it has taken them to admit that dogs don't need vacitated every year, but instead they tell you that the dog needs a special three year vaccination. Sorry, as far as I'm concerned the normal yearly vaccination gives ample coverage for as long and we continue to give it every year in order to meet the requirements of our canine associations putting our dogs at risk of Vacciosious (not sure of spelling). Sorry all, vent over I just hate putting these poisons into my dogs year after year in order to be able to be involved in canine activaties. Don't disagree with vaccinating entirely just the frequency of it. Yes I agree with you Ozjen, I think overvaccinating is bad for a dog, I titre test and will continue to do so for Mason and any other dogs I have.
  11. I have a siamese x that I found abandoned and she does that exact same face!!
  12. I LOVE my 450D, it has taken me about 4 weeks to get the hang of it though and some shots are still not great - remember its what you know that creates the great shots, a good photographer will be able to use any camera and get some good shots.
  13. There have been a few parvo cases at my vet here in Ellenbrook and I saw a thing in the paper about some in Midland awhile back.
  14. Yes I saw this - I would love to give Rally O a go.
  15. WHen I am home my dog is inside with the aircon, when we go out he stays outside - he has a roof to lay under outside and a splash pool in the shade, I had to go for a lunch today and he was fine while I was out.
  16. Downloaded the trial version yesterday and I am quite happy with it. I dont have Photoshop, only buying it after xmas with my student card but lightroom seems fantastic for now.
  17. Your a bit of a stirrer aren't you ;) (And the answer to that for anyone following along at home is no- I will not be meeting any kind of in-laws) I have only been here and Africa But moving to a whole new country- massive adventure! :D I have seen some of the eastern states many years ago, Cairns and Sydney :D
  18. Tell me about it I am busy doing my permanent visa at the moment and its costing a lot of $'s.... not holidays for at least 2 years for us and then we need to buy a house Think I will do a trip to the river tomorrow night
  19. Dad just called me to say he is at my house to pick the dogs up, so they will be with Dad in the aircon now, spoilt puppies Aww lucky pups!! GR wish I stayed closer to the river, I would also bring Mason down there at say 6, I used to do it when we stayed closer and it was lovely. I cannot tell you how hot it is up here in Ellenbrook
