  1. When did he start limping? What was he doing right before limping? He was running around on wet grass with Phoebe at the park this morning. I would rest him for a few days at least and wait and see what happens (if it was my dog, but I know what you are like ) No I am not so stressy with lameness because I was used to it with my horse who was sometimes lame for one reason or another... will give it a day and re - assess.

  3. For a dog with a little limp, would you go see a chiro, get acupuncture or see a bowen therapist?? Thoughts and ideas??
  4. That depends on the cause of the itchies, some itchies can be soothed by luke warm water. I was told by my derm to never ever use cold water - makes the skin contract which makes them itch more...
  5. I cant do it, I know i wont be able to give it back
  6. Had to do this to separate my ridgies too - they latch on like there is no tomorrow, while 2 of us did that a 3rd had to spray water on the ones face to make her let go - it was not fun.
  7. The only thing that worked for my 2 when they fought was to spray a hose on their noses so that they let go to breathe.
  8. I only do about a 30 minute walk in the morning and then we do obedience in the evening, or sometimes some obedience before or during the morning walk, weekends and one day a week I let him offlead with my friends dogs for about 1 to 1,5 hours.
  9. and your excuse for not coming training last night was....... is "i couldn't be arsed" a good excuse?!
  10. Ozjen please can you post the details for the guy in Ascot, took my dog to the park today and he was limping a bit for awhile so now I am a bit concerned.
  11. How is the new job going ST? You have been very quiet so I take it that you are extra busy
  12. If I were you I would get allergy tests done and then you will know if he has allergies and how bad they are. My allergy dog used to lick himself raw until he was on the right meds and food.
  13. That what drew me into lying on my belly on top of all the ants round our pool to get the shot - I think it was worth it  Lol, my siamese cross also finds places like that too sleep !!! Great shots!
  14. I would have them spend as little time as possible in quarantine, my 2 cats did 6 months in Johannesburg and 30 days in Perth, all 7 months were a nightmare for me and I wont be going down that road ever again. Cats have recovered but both came out of it a bit unwell, they recovered within a few months but I still would not choose to do it again.
  15. Congrats Rach - I am sure you will find a job soon
  16. I do wear glasses but I just battle to see at night, think its a bit of night blindness
  17. I dont think that we will be allowed, I may chicken out as I have such bad eyesight that I can only see the sign once I get to it and it makes me look like a 'spesheel' case Ososwift - congrats to you on your trial win
  18. Yes - Graeme also explained to me that at club trials I must keep using food and then when we do a real trial it will be a surprise to Mason that I have no food, so that way he won't know when I have the food on me or when I dont. Judge was surprised that I have only been in class 3 for so short a time. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about is when I got back to Mas after the drop stay he sat up as I got to him, I dont really blame him though as 2 of the dogs in the drop stays got up and started playing, jumping over some of the other dog, I have no idea how he stayed put then :D but the judge asked us to return right after that and it was just too much excitement with the other dogs still racing around the ring as they could not be caught. If I had done it for competition and Mason had not sat up in the drop stay we would have come in 3rd place or so. It was a good experience and I am glad we did it ( I have never done a round with an outside judge before) and the lady was lovely and had some good tips and advice for me. ETA - A big congrats to Sooty and Adele who took first place, she did not use food and they had the most awesome round, only loosing 2 points if I am not mistaken!
  19. Congrats I knew you would do well :p Aww thanks Tiggy
  20. Mason did really well at the club trial tonight, we did it NFC with food and everyone said how well he went - even the judge commented on his work during the prizegiving presentations, we have only been to 3 classes and he did very very well. I am quite chuffed.
  21. I am originally from south africa - one tip, watch your cameras etc like a hawk while you are there, things have a way of growing legs and walking Maybe get your camera insured before you go if its not already?
  22. Hi, I have the Canon 450D, I am enjoying mine very much, had it about 2 months now. I was looking to buy the Canon 500D but I got lucky and a guy at hubbys work was selling his 450D and he upgraded to a 50D.
  23. My lab sleeps on the bed - he has since he was a pup - it was not my choice, OH started him sleeping with us after he went to the loo in the middle of the night, he likes to cuddle with him and because it was winter he warmed the bed up real well I have had no dominance issues etc but my dog is very submissive.
  24. I got my Cool Coat from the Clean Run, the one from Saratoga Horseworks, its the best money I ever spent, on hot days here in WA my dog wears it a lot, I just keep wetting it, my lab feels the heat terribly.
