Yeah I thought that was strange aswell, guess we will find out monday. She also hasn't lost any muscle mass on a particular limb (which vet said is associated with arthritis) and the pain comes and goes.. Good point about the muscle mass, if it was a slowly building thing like joint damage you would see a degree of muscle wastage. Other thing to do if Xrays don't show much would be to contact a good chiro. Might be soft tissue, nerve etc. Yes I was thinking the same, maybe a pinched nerve etc

Both my ridgeback pups and Mason got hiccups loads when they were young, Mason hardly ever gets them now anymore - kind of miss them!

Yes, I think it has become more common practice to insure your dog, and hence an increase in claims mean an increase in premiums. Thats true! With my dog i just cant be without it, i would have paid an rxtra $15 per month if they asked for it lol !

Mine was also under a $1 so Petplan seems to not increase premiums that much, I claimed $5000 last year for allergies PetPlan are the most expensive in premiums to start with so you'd hope their premiums didn't go up by too much! Really? I did not think they were pricey compared to the others when i looked? I think i chose the higher premium as i have a lower excess i think, plus they were willing to review an exsisting condition aftef 12 months

poor mason. his allergies must be so bad, my rottis get hotspots i douse them quite literally in listerine (the purple one) then spray with cetrigen and they heal really well. they don't tend to like it i guess it stings but it works for us. i hope the antibiotics help clear it up Yip i do the same, worked for the rest but not this bugger !!!!!

Another hotspot! Has he had more of his injections recently and reacted to them again? Yes, waiting to hear what to do regarding the shots now

I was with RSPCA pet insurance until last week - the premium for my older dog rose by more than $200. Yes I have made claims (for cruciates, so expensive) however these claims are now finalised and I was no longer claiming anything. Anyway, I shopped around and went with Medibank Private who have given me a premium more than $200 less than RSPCA. So yes, it does pay to shop around. Just wait ........ I am hoping it does not go up this year as last year I claimed loads and they did not increase it - so they shouldnt really if they did not increase it by much last year

I was so scared when it came time for my Petplan renewal last year as I had claimed quite a bit, my premium only went up by like 30c a month. A friend of mine has a chihuhua x and I have a lab and we pay the exact same premiums with Petplan...

Yep, absolutely agree with this. The elimination diet needs to be done properly so that you get accurate results. Keep in mind she could be allergic to several foods, not just one. I agree 100% with this, having a very allergic dog myself even if you know exactly what they are allergic to etc they can still go through bad patches so rather go and get the dog tested and do an elim diet, at least then you will know for sure what you are up against.

I will never have a winter puppy! No thankyou!!! Standing in the middle of the yard at 3am waiting for your dog to poop glad wrap at 9 weeks old (and then having to pull it out) in winter doesn't seem so appealing next time round ;) He's gorgeous ;) Yip, I got Mason in winter and toilet stops were torture!
