I would use Malaseb too Very important to leave it for 5 mins though before rinsing off.

Congratulations and Good Luck for the day Phew tell me about it....barely dropped below 27 for most of the night I went to explore round Herdsman Lake yesterday....didn't last too long the heat and the millions of signs about tiger snakes made me a bit wary I need to do 5 self portraits for my next assignment and its just too hot to go anywhere to get decent shots as my make-up just melts off lol

MELTING>......................................................... ...

Took the dog to the vet and it was not anal glands, no bacterial overgrowth etc on his skin either so I am just washing him in Malaseb, the smell is only around his lumber sacral region apparently there are a lot of sabaceous glands there....

Sorry, didnt meant to sound rude but read my thread in the general section on 'poison' Im in Huntingdale so I dont think the 2 are connected :D Oh gosh, I just read that thread and I am so sorry I lost my last dog, a Malamute named Odin, to poison and it's so very traumatic. I am sorry for your loss Do you also have a Border Collie? My son also has the BC. He bought it himself to do obedience with. He figured if he could get that far in obedience with a JRT, he could 'reach the stars' with a BC. He has already skipped beginners and gone to advanced beginners with the pup (on the advice of the trainer) oh! Ive just realised who you are.... Carolyns class?? A lot of breeds can do well well in obedience no matter what breed it is, if you have a special bond with a dog no matter what the breed you can achieve heaps! Hope he has a lot of fun with the new dog, its so sad what happened to Jakey.

Mason greets me with something in house mouth too, must be a lab thing! Remember they were bred to retrieve fallen game so the instinct of them to carry something is strong, plus they feel that bringing us something is their 'job' I think.

Thanks, she did good I didn't get to see much of Mason, I was flat out last night! Speaking of automatic sits disappearing Doing fast pace in the ring with Millie coming into an autosit, and she just couldn't get it out of her head thinking I was asking her to drop instead Repeat a few times, a drop each time. I think we've been working on drops in fast pace lately So I know what I need to work on this week I've actually got a few things to work on with Millie, finishes are one of them! Talk about crooked lately (whoops, this is the WA thread, not the training one, oh well, sorry non-obedience WA folk!!) Yes I saw Millie kept dropping lol, dogs can be funny sometimes!!

I am sure you did great in your interview Yes I am sure I walk differently etc when I am nervous, I can feel myself tense up. RS I noticed that Ruby did real well last night
-
Oh no, what happened??
-
It was ok, not his best ringwork but I was pleased he did not drop in the sit stay He kept missing is auto sits last night, however he has had a real bad smell coming off him since yesterday morning, I bathed him etc and its still there, I suspect his anal glands need cleaning so this may be why he did not give 100% last night. I also think that I maybe walk different when I am nervous and so he gets confused by this - anyway its stuff to work on even though out the ring his auto sits and usually good but we would have passed both rounds if it had been a real trial. Next fri if he misses an auto sit should I say sit or just leave him, either way I lose points???
-
I am going down on the friday night to do my trial and I may go down one other night to see the labs if I get the motivation
-
I bathed my dog today as he has had a weird smell about him the last few days, so I bathed him and the smell is still lingering, it is not strong at this stage but how do I know if its coming from his anal glands?? He has had his emptied once before as a young pup but I cant remember what he smelled like then.

Deer Antlers And Allergy Dogs

This is not the case with my dog, he is allergic to beef and cannot get the liver, heart, meat or hooves, they all set him off. -
I thought it was 7??
-
My lab is real laid back but I have found little noises etc and stuff that excited him, this sounds odd but he has a soft bendy frisby and if I tease him with it by tapping it on his body he goes nuts!!
-
What an awful thing to happen - sorry for your loss.
-
When are the labs??
-
Agility is on offer tonight too..... Yeah but most of the competitive people are instructors and they have to be there to take the junior classes...

That is odd! Mason liked both of the ones at Rubystars house and he loves his one ;)
