  1. I was wondering the same thing about finding out who is in our class and what number we are ... PS hoping crazy dobe is not competing - you know the one...
  2. As a dogswest member does everyone get the 10% discount at city farmers? Or is it just breeeders
  3. Yeah if we could camp I would have also watched tomorrow and sunday night but its such a long trek if I am not competing it hardly seems worth it petrol wise...
  4. Yes Masons sitting farts dont smell lol!! I have no idea why he has started doing this in the last 5 or so months.... its so weird!!! Tonight is the classic, so excited but also a little nervous !!! Never not had food in the ring
  5. My lab met up his littermates at around 5 months and then every few months we still get together with one of the families who has his brother and little half brother. He remembers his full brother for sure, they love playing together!! He does have a best friend though, another lab we met in pup class at 16 weeks at our dog club and we have let them play together once a week since then ( for 2 years now) and they are best buds, if we get the whole group together and his brothers and Phoebe are there he will choose to play with Phoebe
  6. Millie jumps into the air to catch balls and food, and makes this chomping noise mid air, if they are interested Mason farts when he is hungry everytime he sits down and i mean LOUD ones!! I would come down to classic sat or sun night too but its just too far and petrol wise its a waste if we not competing
  7. He will be fine, just like the rest of our dogs are fine when they get to stay home all day without us. If I end up taking a new job offer, mine will be at home 10 or more hours a day on their own, instead of the current 9 hours. I don't think they will notice as much as I will! Yeah if there were 2 of them I would feel less bad...
  8. Woohoo Does anyone have their K9 news handy, or a good memory, to let me know what date retrieving training starts? Not sure if it's this weekend or next. I'm guessing next, as it's poor organisation to start it Classic weekend!! Is the sunday after the classic Katie...
  9. What!? Everytime I see that ad and the puppy does the little whine thing I can't help but go "Nawwwwww" I also love the dogs in that ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Morning all , I am off to work so wont be on DOL until tonight again, sux not working in an office with a computer Oh well beggars cant be choosers ETA I am feeling so bad that I am leaving Mason for the whole day, I have done it before but now because its going to be a regular thing I feel worse
  11. Look forward to meeting you and your pup NCarter!!! I will have cake and no dog but will be hanging with washa and rijbiz at the ridgy area - also with my sister - she has very short red hair -so we should stick out like you-know-whats LOL!!! (God she'll kill me if she knew i was writing that!!)..... Are the ridgies on friday night?? Rijbiz knows who I am as I have met her before so ask her to come and point us out to you.
  12. No fair! Everyone with puppies I am hoping when it is time for me to get a new pup that someone else on here is getting one too, or has some nice adult ones that don't mind a puppy hanging off them we can socialise with, as I would prefer that to a puppy preschool with strange dogs. Youre not alone RS, Im not getting a pup any time soon...well dont plan on it anyway!!! OH is always looking for a Kelpie pup when hes out and about with his work Besides, my almost 5yo ridgeback girl is still very much a pup I am excited about the pup but still worried if I am doing the right thing, I dont want the 2 to be old together but at the same time I want Mason young enough to still want to play with the newby..... its very hard
  13. Wouldn't that be nice I think you will find there are at least a dozen more entries But I am fairly sure we are it from DOL That is what I was thinking Automatic placings, girls We could toss a coin for first and second lol
  14. My son has already decided that we need to move the heater to a different spot to allow the puppy room to sit in front of it... I have always have winter pups and I hate the night toilet stops...
  15. Ralley valley and Rubystar maybe we can do a dokken order together and split the postage?? I am also keen to get one. Fetchingdogs great tip about the crate training, I will be doing this when I get my pup in july/august
  16. Mirawee the pups mum should be in season this month or next so born June/July, I am hoping that they will be born later as then it wont be so cold when he comes home
  17. I am trying to decide what trial to enter after the Classic..... the next one in March I wont get my entry in on time so have to do one in April me thinks.... Is it just Mirawee and I doing CCD on friday night??
  18. Thanks Rubystar, I will definitely make the effort ....I know all the people Ive met so far from DOL have been wonderful! And I would like to add to the list! And know I have quite a few of you as FB friends, I know real names, which isnt quite as embarrassing when making introductions! But now I have to try and remember DOL and real names and get it right..........At least I know everyones dog breed and their names Oh and I saw all Millies results in the K9 news too!! there were quite a few names I recognised! Dont forget to come and find me, I will have Mason with me and a huge blue crate
  19. I said it is often a good indicator, not that it was absolute. The Vet takes into account where the skin irritation is when determining a diagnoses. If the vet is good he will be sending the dog off to a dermatlogist and only diagnosing after the dog has had allergy tests. I just feel that without allergy testing you are farting against thunder so to speak...
  20. It is 5 weeks. And I think you should make the trek! It took me 30 minutes each way, but if you got on the Highways, you could do it in 45 minutes I reckon. Especially because it's non peak hour on weekends. Seriously, she is worth the trip. And I would still recommend puppy classes to anyone even if you have another dog (I had one already obviously) but there's different tips and bits and pieces of info you pick up, plus it is hard to find public places that would be safe for an unvaccinated puppy to be socialised. Is it saturdays or sundays??
  21. I just looked at train a time and its almost 60km from me!!! I think new boy will be waiting until he has had his vacs to go to NS puppy school like I did with Mason, and Mason had no issues with waiting - he is very social and he was NEVER shy !!!
  22. Yep, a tad far for you Between 8 and 12 weeks is the most critical socialation period so I would recommend to get booked in for one as soon as know when you are getting a puppy. I went to 2 classes, we started one of them the same day I picked my puppy up! The breeders weren't altogether happy about that because it was at our local vets (and they were concerend about the puppy picking something up) however I was happy with the risk factor, knowing the socialisation is so important. I am not sure what I am going to do with the new pup, I wanted to take him to our puppy classes but I wont do those until he has had his vacs as its in pens in Carine and anyone can use them when the dog club is not having a class .... will have to see if I can get motivated to drive to Forrestdale, how many weeks is the course?
  23. I'm surprised their pup was "cheaper", BYB's usually charge as much as registered ones! And the main reason they go for a BYB is cos they can get one now and don't get screened. Each to their own, eh? That is most of the dog owning population! At our local park, where there are sometimes up to 20 dogs there at any one time, I could count on one hand who bought their dogs from registered breeders. It's quite sad and I don't see it changing any time soon. I also dont see it changing GR ..... I am still in 2 minds about a pup, I want one but I want it to sleep through the night and be fully toilet trained before it comes home I have to remember that the new one should not be as bad as Mason, because he was allergic to his food he got up like 6x a night for the toilet. ......
  24. I would take them from 8 weeks, mine only went from 12 weeks as I was paranoid about him catching anything before his vacs had kicked in.
  25. I'm surprised their pup was "cheaper", BYB's usually charge as much as registered ones! And the main reason they go for a BYB is cos they can get one now and don't get screened. Each to their own, eh? Yeah our friends paid $750 for there chi x that they got, I paid $1000 for Mason Pason 2 years ago so I am expecting it to be around $1500 maybe, as I have seen labs advertised anywhere from $1200 to $1700 here in Perth.
