  7. I agree that it is easier to do shorter sessions when you have more than 1 dog. But sometimes I really wish I still only had the one dog to train and focus on! I think if i had 2 i would battle time wise atm, i only have the one and sat and sunday we were too busy to train , did do some retrieving on fri ( with a thrower) and last night. Need to crank up the obedience this week as we have a club comp on sunday
  8. We will be holding thumbs for a fast recovery for Toby

  11. I still throw balls for the girls as reward sometimes It's their favourite, but I do know it comes with risks... ;) Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes i use a ball reward for mason with his retrieving holds now as food was not working ...
  12. Yesterday a young liver flatcoat and its owners were bbq-ing next to us. It wanted Mason to play and was running after him, mason immediately put his heckles up and was trying to get away from this dog. Seems he is scared of young entire males now.
  13. I personally find that a lot of parents and kids have asked if they can pat my dog and i always say yes as my dog just loves the attention
  14. Busy busy here this weekend. We only got home after 3 this arvo and gave a champagne breakfast birthday tomorrow for most of the day
  15. Ptolomy i think Beans and Mason must be related - either brilliant or awful, that really does describe how he works too!! And when i feel that i have become a better handler i would love anither dog to train but i feel at this stage that i just dont know enough an am often faced by situations where i dont know how to train something. For my next CCD trial i would just love a pass to give us the confidence to enter the next trial, i try not be too competitive to me its about myself & the dog enjoying ourselves
  16. what a compliment-a happy dog. to me that is vital. My problem is that all Cindy's early training was before I knw what I was doing so her handicap has always been me. I just mean that she is my first dog I have really trained so she has suffered all my learning curves. She is very patient. I am much the same, Mason is the first dog i have trained to do anything so both of us are learning together ;)
  17. Lol i was quite confident going into my first trial - he aced heelwork but lay down in stays, now i will wonder every time we do trial stays if he is going to lay down ;)
  18. RV i have been feeling weird the past week, i dont have flu but dont feel 100% either whatever it is sux
  19. That is such a cute pig!!! For tomorrow you take Hackett drive in nedlands, go down onto the avenue and then right onto the Esplanade and all the way to the end ( at least i think thats the directions!!!)
