  1. Millie probably loves having company in the back yard :) how long until Rubys treatment is done and she is ' immune' to bees so to speak lol??
  2. Great news Ptolomy :) do they know which one they will be taking home yet? I saw Mason at 1 week old and Gibbs i met at 3 weeks, meeting the litters at such a young age i will never forget both those moments :) happiest times of my life i think besides bringing them home

  4. Oh I just saw that, starts at 6.30pm for the demo's and then you can have a go yourself too! Appearently its tracking, retrieving, obedience, agility, DWD and RallyO. Id be keen to have a look at the tracking Tracking is cool i have been going with a friend the last 2 sundays to give my 2 a go, mason isnt too good at it but Gibbs is!
  5. Is the agility on Tuesday nights as well? I am tempted to rejoin Midland rather than going to ACWA It's so much closer!! I wan to know more about their Rally O classes :)
  6. I live in Ellenbrook which is also east, Pearce is 15 mins from me, i train at Northern Suburbs
  7. Happy birthday Bitty :) your story reminds me a lot of mine ith my 2 boys, younger pup loves me but adores my hubby, my older boy has always always loved me most :)
  8. You are brave to ho on the thrower RS !!
  9. Yeah we should organise a meet up :) after the next visit to the specialist on June 11 I'm hoping Gibbs gets to have some offlead time :) :)
  10. I heat mine in the microwave for a few seconds to make it a bit warmer I stop before it starts to cook
  11. Most pleasures cost money and time I'm afraid. You could spend heaps of money on regularly going out to dinner, nightclubs, clothes, shoes, booze, cigarettes, golf, movies etc etc. Everything is relative, and we choose dog sports. The days of having retrieving trials close to Perth are sadly gone, and yes it takes dedication to the sport to keep at it, but as RS knows, you get hooked and you and the dogs enjoy it so much. I sometimes think, what would I do without retrieving ? Maybe obedience, but I find that boring, agility ? hmm hours and hours of training and no equipment handy to practice with. Tracking, yep can do that, sortof. At least the retrieving has me and the dogs out in the fresh air. We have fun, they love it; I love seeing them work; and most of the people involved in the sport are good mates. BTW Rubystar you did good yesterday !!! We just cutting back on everything at the moment, desperately want my own place now, so over renting !! Mason really needs practice with the gun but I can't see myself getting to the training day in June
  12. That's understandable, and I forgot about you and RV entering to boost numbers last time so that is why numbers seem lower this time I guess. I am just generally disappointed in lack of participation as a whole, and that is not directed at any certain individuals in the slightest for why they can or can't enter, just a general about it. A bit like a sport dying out before it takes off. I get the impression that numbers in the eastern states have been good, it's just a shame WA don't have the numbers. I really like how the Retrieving Club are allowing NFC entries for dogs who have their title and want to stay down a level. I wonder if at any point in the future NFC might be offered for non-papered dogs. Millie would luuuuuurve that!!! Yeah it is disappointing numbers wise as I don't think I will ever get to run in a real trial as I'm just not prepared to enter a trial when iv never handled a gun before plus Mason hasn't had a gun shot right next to him. Then they make the training days so far out of Perth and it will cost me like half a tank of fuel if I'm lucky to get there and back , probably more in the new car. I'm being real careful with money as we desperately want to buy some land and start building. Horty no hassles Gibbs is still on restricted exercise ( on lead only) until after the public holiday anyway :)
  13. Congrats Horty he is lovely, we need to meet up and let the dogs have a play as Gibbs has missed out on a heap of socialization since his surgey
  14. I'm using Joint Guard for my dog with elbow dysplasia so far I'm pretty happy with it
  15. Thought so, I have my retrieving test that morning
  16. Hi there, no we wont be going i dont think but will let u know closer to the time
  17. You have to be clever and go to a company that offers all that in the package. My issue is if we buy exsisting we will only afford a tiny block of land ;( True, but I found it's virtually impossible to find any company that includes everything... you are still left spending money on things at the end of it all. I enjoyed the building process, but I don't find it gives you any more than buying pre-established, except more time to save for the things you are going to need (which incidentally you won't need if you buy pre-established!) My main reason to build is land size, if I buy pre established we can afford a house on a 400 m sq block but if we build we can get a 500-600m block for the dogs :) I am sure some things won't be finished off etc but they will have to just wait.
  18. Give her 24 hrs... Thats all it took Gibbs to start bouncing around
