Mason had a pass this am although it was a poor one, he took off like a chop in fast pace! We now have our 3 passes

He is finished elim but can only eat a very small variety of foods, but i am now adding a kibble in which he is fine on.

Yip thats what I thought too - its for a friend who owns a relative of Mason. Problem is they wanted to operate themselves and the breeder said to get a second opinion from Applecross.

I am using Earthborn Holistic for my lab atm , he cant tolerate any other kibble but is good on the Earthborn Holistic Ocean Fusion -

He is quite active and well in general. No skin infections for ages. Im thinking it could even be any of the medications he is on eg antihistamines, pred or the immunotherapy itself. ETA he is also on fish oil and evening primrose oils for his skin.

My lab has been changing colour now for about 12 months, it started on the tail and then the bottom half of his back and now its midway. He is/ was black and has now gone brown on the back and tail and the fur there is thinner and no undercoat. He is an allergy dog and has to eat home prepared as he is allergic to heaps although in the last 2 weeks i have found a kibble to supplement his diet. He had a huge hotspot on his back which was shaved, the fur grew back dark black and there is even undercoat in that spot. I am beginning to wonder if it could be a thyroid disorder although my vet and the dermatologist dont feel that he fits the symptoms im wondering if he should be tested anyway.

There is retrieving training, tracking and field trials.

Maybe contact golden retriever club i know they have a rescue organisation for goldies

If a vet does xrays and u need to see a specislist why would they refuse to give the xrays to you??

My lab took ages to stop eating cat poo out the litter but now he is really good. I just kept punishing him when i caught him stealing it!! My friends 9 month old chi x stays with us occasionally and he is terrible as he steals it and takes it to the carpet to eat and makes a huge mess!!

Its very hard Rach, its the main reason I cant go work in shelters etc I just feel too sorry for them and want to bring them home!! All my animals besides Mason and hubbys cat I adopted or found and took in

If my titre had come back at low levels I would revacvinate too and for my cat I have to vaccinate her 3 yearly as she would never sit still long enough for them to take blood and neither would one of my ridgies. I vaccinated the ridgies every 3 years in RSA. Is the 3 yearly vac a C3?? ETA i am not sure yet what I am going to do if I get a pup, i know my vet will say pup vacs, 16 month vac and then 3 yearly but I may titre- not sure

Mason never had the 12 month booster and his levels are fine. The thing is with vaccinating is that if you titre and levels are good if you then vaccinate its a waste as they already have the immunity. But lets not forget we all just do what we think is right for our dogs and I dont judge people who vaccinate yearly etc its just that its not what I believe in doing, and with Mason the choice was out of my hands anyway as our specialist said it could cause a huge allergy flare. Hold thumbd for masons half brother who is 7 months old, he is seeing Steve from Applecross today as he hurt his leg.

Masons titre came back that he was covered ( i know its 2 they test for parvo and one other) so i was happy with that and will re-test him by the end of this year again i think. I just feel that the vacs never seem to carry the strain thats going around. The 3 year vac must have something in it to make it last the extra 2 years so imo i would feel that its riskier, plus its new so I am less likely to use it as not many side effects will have been discovered as yet. I will probably just titre the new pup too after the pup vaccines.

I titre test as i dont believe in over vaccinating and I have an allergy dog who cant be vaccinated. Me vet is not a fan of it but will do it if necessary. Charged me $60

Go and see a specialist. I myself have a heaet murmur from a faulty valve and it gives me no hassles
