  1. Hmm if its food allergy imo she would continue to scratch with the jumper on - well my dog would anyway. The dog could be atopic or have a contact allergy
  2. Just a question, the little chi x sometimes likes to resource guard a bjt and growls sometimes if he has a toy he likes at mason, the last 2 times i took the toy off him and growled at him myself. Is this the right thing to do? Mason doesnt seem to care and just gives him a look
  3. Congrats to all those who got tickets Names at the moment are Jordan, Jethro, Gibbs but i also like serendipity ( seren for short)
  4. So excited to get the puppy now thinking of male names frantically
  5. Olivebaby send me a pm and i can meet up and help you if you like?? I also took mason to carine but hardly go as i have completed all the trialling classes
  6. I have spoken to a lot of lab breeders and they all say 2 desexed males would bd their preferance over any other combo
  7. RS i can meet you when u check in and eat with u if you like??
  8. I will take this all into consideration i am quite happy with the male though i have had females before and i personally bond better with males ( even with my cats my male is the one i am closest to). I guess though i am not a terribly competititve person i compete because i enjoy it and i enjoy teaching my dog new things, going in the ring is an added bonus but my dogs will always be pets first and if it came down to it i would rather take a dog i feel i could bond with than just taking one because i think it will be a better obedience dog.
  9. I would like to do obedience ( i compete with current dog but he is low drive) would like a dog with more drive but not so drivey that it to live with it becomes a nightmare. Looking at the parents none of them are extremly high drive so i doubt any of the pups will be so drivey that i woukd not want them.
  10. I was thinking directly before the show Mirawee, but its fine as i am probably the only one who is working the monday and i eat early - will see closer to the time but i dont think i will be making the dinner if its only at 9 or so
  11. Yeah i dont mind if pup is more active than my current dogs but i am not interested in working line labs that i have seen advertised atm.
  12. Mason was a very bouncy pup but i dont know if he was the naughtiest but definately not the bossiest! I dont mind bouncy and playful but i would not like dominant
  13. Eeekkk thats a bit late for dinner though @ 9 for those with work on, why dont u do a lunch before??
  14. Happy birthday bedazzled!!!!!! Pup will come home first weekend in september
  15. I am not after the naughtiest in the litter thanks lol!! My current dog is very relaxed at home so will need a dog that compliments him infact thats the most important thing, they need to get along. Saying that his best mate is a hyper lab and he loves her to bits and they always play so well, seems to bring out the energy in him.
  16. Trkuble is i wont have a choice after the breeder has chosen the 1 to keep which is why i need to know some things to look for
  17. Labradors here are not used a whole heap in dog sports ( well not much in obedience anyway) so its hard to tell but temperament wise I know the father and he is lovely.
  18. Its a labrador so food drive wont be a problem lol !!!!
  19. At 6 weeks i am going to go and see a puppy I am interested in, i picked my current dog as he was keen on interacting with me by retrieving toys sticks etc. I do obedience with my dog and i would be keen to do it with the pup too so i was wondering what traits people who compete look for in a pup??
  20. Olivebaby Mason at 2 years and with an obedience title still decides to run off at times. Labs take ages to mature and only after 12 months did mine come back at all i am getting another one the first week in sept so will be starting the training process again
  21. They only get really cute around 5 weeks of age from what i can remember Hubby and I like the name Jordan at This stage but it could change
  22. I am excited but i also know that mason will be so jelous at first so not looking forward to the sulks!! RS they just look like moles at this stage but will make a plan to get a pic for you
