  1. omg... that just reminded me... panto is scared of bubbles. If I start blowing bubbles (the soapy kind) she'll eye them very suspiciously and find a corner or wall to lean against, but still keep an eye on them. just in case they attack.
  2. On behalf of lurkers etc here, no doubt truckloads of positive vibes are being sent your way. Wishing you all the best on your recovery, and pls don't ever ever stop reaching out, particularly when you feel you have taken a step back or feel alone. It may or may not be the same people who reach out to you each time, but it will be anyone who has the capacity to do so because maybe someone else has done them a kind turn, and are paying it forward, just like you do yourself (from the posts I've read), or simply because this is DOL. I am also sending positive vibes towards your nearest and dearest, particularly those who have not been so understanding, that they will come to an understand/acceptance.
  3. Cat thrown from bridge on to moving car Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/cat-thrown-from-bridge-on-to-moving-car-20120613-208r4.html#ixzz1xczlHQxa don't know why they dont say if the cat is ok or not!!
  4. love the pics, but the poor fattest dog, and any other contestants, I hope they get the dog in good health again and stop promoting such a bad thing to be recognised for.
  5. She really doesnt have long at all I hear, but she is living in the lounge room, and is being given lots of pats and cuddles, whatever she wants basically, is warm and loved
  6. lol hilarious. aside from the usual (thunder, fireworks, vacuum cleaners) panto's scared of the wind and slamming doors, will move mountains to get away from them. Oh and the camera flash (if it's not a photo of her)... i think the light reflecting inside from the windows makes it look like lightning and she associates this with thunderstorms. Bit of a tough one as I like to take photos of my food a fair bit!
  7. Thanks all. They do mita... Een mr p who was all grumbly about having an extra passenger softened to her and in his silent state on our drive, his first words were 'who lets a 16yr old dog get sent to the pound'. Im just happy for her now, as no amount of lamenting on that question gets any of us anywhere alas.
  8. She's gone home with Cheryl at lunchtime today. They were straight to the shop to pick up a new coat for her to keep the cold off her back, its so cold out here. A pic of her travelling and one investigating the yard with panto just before Cheryl came round to meet us. Will miss you Bless! <3
  9. She is such a dear. She shuffled around for a fair bit with a little old lady shuffle, worked out the doggie door, ate some devon and roo bits (took a little while to figure out what she would eat!). She is now settled into panto's bed next to the eater. Wasnt too fussed with it in the crate so I brought it out. She eyed the couch but with her legs not so good and not liking being touched on the legs to lift her on/off I didnt think it was a good idea. Its hard not to be endeared to her! Such a sweetie. Even in the few hrs, my friend who picked her up found it hard to see her go.
  10. yes the poor dear. looking forward to giving her a little fuss after I let her settle in and sniff her way around. Hope she travels well! I hear a gingernut biscuit 15-30mins before travelling might help...
  11. Just checked to make sure she was ok with me mentioning, but she is going to live out her days with Cheryl in Griffith :)
  12. It's a bit like that, the few people I've tried down that way are in the same situation..! Remaining hopeful...
  13. I'm just the messenger and the ferry'er, but she will be looked after... I heard about her plight and said 'awww bless'... and she said, 'yes, that's her name', me, 'sorry?', 'yes, her name is Bless'. Hopefully someone can pick her up today before 5? please, anyone?
  14. Hi DOLers Is there anyone around the Taren Point area that is able to pick up and hold a lovely 16 yr old lady (by the name of Bless) til I can pick her up later this evening / very early tomorrow morning? She will be going to Griffith in the morning to live out her days. Paper work etc is being looked after etc, and I am doing the transport, however am not able to get out of work to do the pickup myself before the shelter closes at 5pm. Pls let me know ASAP by PM if you can help. Many thanks in advance
  15. When we had foster/rescue: With Eadie and Coop And a three way game of bitey face...
  16. tears thoughts and fondness for Bonnie and the beautiful updates of her great life you gave her. thinking of you and your pack at this time RIP sweet girl.
  17. You did good Rach. We may not catch the culprit, but if it means they don't do it again or at least one other person thinks twice before acting such a cruel act, there has been good done here. We need more people like you around Rach. RIP lil Cookie.
  18. Yayyy!! Just saw this thread. So glad theyre home safe and sound! Sorry you had to go through the hours of not knowing! Oh if only they could talk to hear their adventure!
  19. I wrote in the next available box to disregard my response to the 'canine eater' question and why it should be disregarded in order to submit my survey. This is a public forum - she may even find the pages herself here? Title for the questionaire is at the top of each page: There are certainly ways the questions could be reworded or structured to allow a more objective result. Good luck to her with the honours.
  20. Geez I'd love to see all these ideas on a big wall with all you guys brainstorming... And the pound concocted actually happen! *sends out vibes that this can happen one day*!!
  21. I've no words Rach... thank you for giving cookie all that love in the time that you had her. Kudos to you and run free little Cookie, pain free and running and chasing and playing and purring
  22. c'mon cookie you can do it... sending positive vibes your way!
  23. Needless to say they didn't get any of their bond back? That's circa $1500 (bond + pet bond based on your pet bond appx). The agent should have had those things fixed faster than 6wks though, a week or two to fix, and a week or two to get the place rented again, unless it's in an area where there are a fair few rentals available. Sorry you had that $hitty tenants experience, that sucks.
