LOVING the pics guys!! I have just updated the first thread.. apologies to the ladies whose furkids' names I don't have, pls correct me where needed and I will update. I will be taking out photo today and uploading tonight/tomorrow :) As we're all using different mediums, can we say what we have shot with (if we remember?). I will endeavour to use my DSLR, but I am such an ease of use iphoneographer! :|

i totally agree. Very strange. Looks like the person who wrote that has the attention span of a goldfish. I was disappointed not to see Oh look, a butterfly. I was also wondering which idiotic editor approved this disjointed story. SQUIRREL!!! (reference from the movie 'UP') on a serious note, how horrendous for the foxie and the 9 year old boy. When fur-panto was a pup I had a very old car and accidentally locked the keys in the car amidst setting up a market stall on a hot morning. The car was luckily parked in the shade and she had water in the car, but I realised as soon as I shut the door the keys were on the front seat. Called the NRMA straight away and the lady on the phone was incredible, ensured I was calm, and dispatched a patrol car straight away - he got there in less than 10mins and told me he had abandoned whichever job he was on as he was nearest to me. I was so impressed and humbled by their helpfulness I was justabout in tears. These days if you call NRMA roadside, the first option on the machine is 'if your child or animal is locked inside a car, press...". hats off to them.

nice work tlc! love how you're able to line them all up together. Yay we have joiners! I will update the first post on monday with who is shooting who for the year. Gertrude how many dogs do you have? Don't see why you need to keep to same dog if you have one or more, just let me know how you want to do it and I'll post that. eg. Gertrude with dog 1/dog2/dog 3 like that, as opposed to panto with (fur)panto
-
I'll ask if I can say hello if the dog seems interested in saying hello to me - but either way, seeing a dog, especially a happy smiley dog, ALWAYS makes me smile - OH just rolls his eyes (but I see him smile too). I don't always want to touch them, depends where I am out at, I find people generally don't keep their dogs as clean and nice smelling as I like to keep mine.

would it be blasphemous to do a year of iphone snaps?

I'll be shooting fur-Panto, who turns 11 in september this year. I'm hoping to get to know my nikon D80 better, and currently use picasa. Hoping I evolve throughout the year amd hope to make up a book at the end of the year.

righteo! :D will quote the first post from this thread to help get it started...

I don't mind starting one, just learning the ropes at the moment and reading on how it works... I would rather an experienced 52 wk'er who might be participating again started it so I don't botch it up - is anyone here doing it for a second year running? Not passing the buck, just don't want to stomp on in..!
-
Hi 52week'ers! Is there going to be a 2013 thread? fur-panto & I are keen to join this year...
-
I was going to say either, but am travelling south on the 5th, and back up north on the 6th. Will shoot you an email... edited for typos

If these havent been picked up by Jan 5, I am happy to collect on behalf of rescue, will return to sydney (if another rescue wants these from syd). Alternately will take to griffith pound end of Feb if no takers. Anne - will email you in next few days to see if not already taken.

If temp care for her will help pls PM me. I am in the city. (should I post this in the renbury thread too? I was so broken looking at that list, the 2 GSDxhuskies look so gorgeous too).

definitely... hats off to all the amazing people who work tirelessly for the needy ones.

more of the falling asleep in the process...
-
more of the snout/head press and look...
-
...falling asleep during the snout/head press... keeping head in place whilst looking around to see if anyone else is looking...
-
 Fur-panto does this too, except she does a snout/head press instead of the magic button. She knows she isn't allowed to beg whilst we're eating (she gets fed sometime between the humans eating, and bed-time), although sometimes OH is lazy and feeds her before (for which he gets a reprimand!). She will look pointedly at your food. then in the direction of her food and bowl (another room), then snout/head gets pressed down onto a surface (coffee table, leg, couch...)... and she'll stay there giving you pointed looks... and sometimes falls asleep doing it... the look the snout/head press

he's gorgeous!

Orange - Anyone There Who Could Do A Fencecheck Pls?
Panto replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in General Dog Discussion
dogmad I have a friend who is from Orange, she's currently in Sydney but due back there soon, I could ask her if you're not having much luck. She can do it when she goes herself, otherwise she is likely to have connections who may be able to do it. Drop me an email/call/text if needed. She's got smalls herself and helped us rescue Bless (who went to Griffith) earlier this year. -
For joints, I ordered some green lip mussel powder and omega c from an online pharmacy, also glucosamine and omega oil.

Any chance they have pet insurance? Panto is 10, and I felt the same way about her having surgery, but she is so much better now with it and is like a new dog. We got 2/3 or a little over back from insurance. Together with stem cell therapy she might be a new dog altogether. Is his concern more about putting her through the surgery or the cost of the surgery? eta: how much are the braces? they sound great!

So beautiful... Tearies, unashamed tearies here...

Panto won it at the first dog's breakfast down at Jackson's Landing (Pyrmont) - we won a voucher and thats when we bought our first Road Refresher! :D
