  1. That would have to be one of the most accurate and sensible things I have seen written.
  2. Ok guys, I think I've decided it's going to be medibank pvt...... for us they appear to offer the best cover. Gold paws is what we will go with ($15000 per year accident and illness + $165 per year routine care), the silver is only $9.50 cheaper per month but you lose $3000 off A&I per year and forgo the routine care completely. Also the tick treatment value is less. Equivalent cover from companies like Bow Wow Meow, PIA, Pet Plan, 1300Insurance and RSPCA (who are all under written by Petsure) were from $6-$11 per animal more per month for the closest equivalent cover they had. Obviously everyone wants something different from their insurance so different policies will suit different people, but that's the one we were happiest with.
  3. Ok so clearly lots to weigh up.... this isn't going to be an easy choice but thanks for all the pointers guys, greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks guys I'll have to look further. Suncorp don't offer illness but medibank do. Their premium was about $900 for the two dogs for $15000 per year with a $100 excess which included an amount for routine care like immunizations etc.
  5. Does your RSPCA cover include accident and illness or only accident and what's the annual premium like? I will check them out tomorrow anyway. Thanks for that
  6. Can anyone recommend the best product they have found? So far I have looked at suncorp, and medibank private. Comparison Suncorp Medibank Cost (2 dogs) $390 $372 Cover Accident Accident Per claim Sunc (ongoing & initial) $2000 Per Year Medibank $8000 Excess $?? $100 per issue (not claim) Illness not covered not covered That's a pretty basic run down of the policies but any one that knows of a great product I'd be greatly appreciated. Medibank do offer illness cover but it is very expensive. We currently have medibank private health cover and Platinum House & contents with Suncorp, so they would be add on policies with both. Anyone know of anything exceptionally better as a stand alone product?
